Chapter 163 Resigning to Set Up a Stall
Li Man arrived at the Chongqing hot pot restaurant in Huo Jiansheng's car.
Although we arrived early, before lunchtime, the hot pot restaurant was already packed with people, bustling with noise and excitement. As soon as we entered, a particularly fragrant and spicy aroma wafted towards us.
How delicious! Riemann couldn't help but drool.
The window seats were already full, so they just found a seat and sat down.
"Order whatever you want. I can afford the food here, so eat as much as you want and don't hold back," Li Man said generously.
Huo Jiansheng smiled, picked up the menu, and checked off the dishes he wanted to eat.
Riemann also ordered some of her favorite dishes, such as fatty beef, pig brain, goose intestines, duck blood, tripe, lotus root, konjac noodles, tofu, and baby bok choy. She also ordered a glass of plum juice at the end.
After ordering, Riemann asked, "What did you order?"
Huo Jiansheng handed the menu to Li Man, "These are what I ordered."
Riemann took the menu and saw that it was almost exactly what she had ordered. "I didn't expect that we like to eat almost the same things."
Huo Jiansheng smiled and said, "We're kindred spirits."
Riemann was both amused and exasperated. Wasn't that phrase meant to describe the two of them?
"Thank you for your help, this is all." Riemann handed the menu to the waiter.
"What kind of hot pot base would you like?" the waiter asked.
"Red soup hot pot".
Li Man and Huo Jiansheng said in unison.
After saying that, the two looked at each other and smiled.
"This morning, you said you wanted to resign?" Huo Jiansheng asked.
Riemann hummed in agreement, took a sip of the shop's complimentary tea, and said, "I'd like to change the environment."
"Actually, you don't need to care about what they say. It will be fine after a while."
Riemann shook her head and said, "Actually, that's not the whole reason. After what happened to me, my clients probably don't trust me anymore."
Who would want to cooperate with someone who has killed? Although Riemann acted in self-defense, they don't care about the reasons; they will only remember that you have killed.
Huo Jiansheng paused for a moment, picked up the cup on the table, took a sip of tea, and asked, "So what are your plans?"
“I want to set up a stall,” Riemann said.
That day, she and Chen Xiaohui went to the night market and found that there were a lot of people and almost every stall was doing good business. That day, she said to Chen Xiaohui, "Why don't we set up a stall too?"
Chen Xiaohui immediately agreed, "Okay!"
Chen Xiaohui was terrified of poverty. Now that Li Man wanted to start a business, she naturally followed suit. Working a regular job only provided enough to make ends meet, and buying a house in Shenzhen was out of the question.
"What to sell?" Huo Jiansheng did not object.
"Selling barbecue!" Riemann said.
Li Man didn't notice that when she was selling barbecue, her eyes were shining, and her whole person became lively, radiant, and very charming. Huo Jiansheng was stunned.
"Are you selling all by yourself? That must be very hard work," Huo Jiansheng couldn't help but pour cold water on his enthusiasm.
“No, it’s me and Chen Xiaohui, the one you lent the coat to,” Li Man said.
"Oh!" Huo Jiansheng remembered, but he couldn't recall what Chen Xiaohui looked like.
"Do you remember now?" Riemann asked.
Huo Jiansheng nodded. "I remember now."
"Yes, just the two of us will do it."
"That's good, but it means staying up all night. Can you handle it?" Huo Jiansheng asked, taking a sip of tea.
"As long as we don't die, we'll work ourselves to the bone! What can't we endure? I'm not afraid of hardship!" Li Man said passionately, her enthusiasm suggesting she was about to embark on a great undertaking. Huo Jiansheng was so inspired by her that he almost blurted out, "I'll invest!"
Fortunately, he didn't say it out loud. If he had, it would have been the smallest investment he ever made.
He finds the thought terrifying.
He suddenly felt that Riemann would be quite suitable to be a pyramid scheme operator; her words were very persuasive.
