Chapter 303 Sprained Ankle

Chapter 303 Sprained Ankle

"This is the goods Brother Li ordered. You can check it."

As he spoke, the scarred man opened the small box.

Huang Dehan had no idea how to inspect goods; he had never even seen one before.

However, it seems the scarred man wasn't asking him to check the quality, but rather to look at the quantity.

He only saw a box full of white powder packaged in bags.

“There are 40 jin (20 catties) in total,” the scarred man said.

Upon hearing this number, Huang Dehan's legs went weak.

In China, selling more than 50 grams of heroin can result in the death penalty; with 40 kilograms, he'd be executed countless times over.

There were many people on the other side, and Huang Dehan tightened his grip on the money bag, fearing that they would rob and kill him.

Killing him would be incredibly easy for them; he was unarmed and had no chance to fight back.

Huang Dehan nodded, trying to appear calm, and handed the bag in his hand to the person closest to him.

The man took it and quickly handed it to the scarred man.

The scarred man opened the bag, glanced at the banknotes inside, and then zipped it up.

"That's fine."

After putting the bag away, the scarred man handed the box containing white powder to Huang Dehan.

The transaction was completed just like that.

Huang Dehan breathed a sigh of relief and got back into the van he had come in with the box.

The van took him to the riverbank, where the same small boat was still moored.

After getting off the bus, Huang Dehan quickly boarded the small boat.

They moved quickly and did not exchange any words throughout the entire process.

After returning to the shore, Huang Dehan carried the box and ran south.

It was very dark, but by the faint moonlight, one could vaguely make out the surrounding woods.

Huang Dehan's heart was pounding so hard it felt like it was going to jump out of his throat.

He held the box tightly and kept running forward.

He was running very fast, and because it was dark and he couldn't see the road clearly, he suddenly tripped over a stone and fell heavily to the ground. The box in his hand flew out, and his chin hit the ground. A piercing pain instantly spread throughout his body, and he almost fainted from the pain. His mouth was full of the taste of blood.

"Pooh!"

Huang Dehan spat and struggled to his feet.

He tried to stand up, but a piercing pain shot through his ankle. His heart sank – oh no, he'd twisted his ankle!

He felt a cool sensation on his chin, and when he touched it, his palm felt sticky. That's when he realized he was bleeding.

What bad luck!

Despite the pain and the bleeding from his chin, Huang Dehan limped forward, picked up the box, and continued walking.

But his feet hurt too much, so he couldn't walk fast and could only drag the suitcase forward.

He walked too slowly.

With dawn approaching and still not on the main road, Huang Dehan was sweating profusely and had no choice but to grit his teeth and quicken his pace.

Just as dawn was breaking, Huang Dehan finally emerged from the woods and climbed onto the road.

He saw the tricycle not far away and waved excitedly.

When the man saw Huang Dehan looking disheveled and limping, he frowned and quickly drove up to him.

How did you get like this?

Huang Dehan climbed onto the tricycle, panting heavily, and said, "Don't even mention it, I fell and twisted my ankle."

As the man drove, he said, "I'll take you to town. The rest is up to you."

"Why don't you take me to the clinic to get my foot injured?" Huang Dehan said, his foot hurting terribly.

The man was speechless for a moment, then said, "Aren't you afraid of being discovered carrying so much merchandise to the clinic?"

That's true, but his foot is hurting so much that he can't deliver the goods if it's not treated.
