Chapter 326 Self-Reproach

Chapter 326 Self-Reproach

"I'm sorry, Riemann." Chen Shi lowered his head, feeling very guilty.

Riemann sighed, no longer wanting to pursue who was right and who was wrong, because what had already happened had already occurred, and Liting had gone mad.

“I’m not blaming you, and don’t blame yourself too much. Nobody could have predicted something like this would happen,” Riemann comforted her.

Upon hearing this, Chen Shi felt even more guilty, his eyes reddened, and tears welled up in them.

Seeing Chen Shi like this, Li Man quickly comforted him, "Don't be sad, I'm fine now."

"Are you stupid? Why did you push me away? If you hadn't pushed me away, none of this would have happened," Chen Shi said in a hoarse voice.

Riemann said, "I didn't think that much at the time. When I saw the dagger coming at me, I instinctively pushed you away."

"Don't be so silly next time."

Riemann asked, still shaken, "Will there be a next time?"

Seeing Riemann shrinking her neck, looking quite frightened, Chen Shi quickly assured her, "There won't be a next time. Next time, even if I have to risk my life, I won't let you get hurt again."

Riemann sighed and said, "Forget about that, have you gone to see Liting?"

Chen Shi shook his head. "No."

"Let's go see her another day, she's quite pitiful."

Chen Shi lowered his eyes: "I don't know how to face her."

Riemann pursed her lips and stopped trying to persuade her. A series of pains came from her chest, making her furrow her brows.

"What's wrong? Does it hurt a lot?" Chen Shi asked anxiously when he saw Riemann's pained expression.

Fearing Chen Shi would worry, Li Man shook her head, "It's nothing."

"Would you like some water? Here, I'll feed you some water."

As he spoke, Chen Shi picked up the water glass on the bedside table, scooped up a spoonful of water, and slowly brought it to her lips.

"Thanks!"

After taking a few sips of water, Riemann stopped drinking.

Her gaze swept around the ward, and Li Man asked, "Are you all alone? Where's my mother?"

"Auntie just went back, but she'll be back in a little while, so don't worry."

Seeing Chen Shi's haggard appearance, Li Man said, "Go and get some sleep. Don't ruin your health."

Chen Shi shook his head. "It's okay, I'll sleep after Auntie comes."

Riemann said angrily, "If you don't go to sleep, I'm going to get angry!"

Chen Shi rubbed his face vigorously, looking exhausted. He had been so worried about Li Man that he couldn't eat or sleep. Now that Li Man was awake, he felt relieved and said, "Then I'll take a nap on the small bed next to me. Call me if you need anything."

"Okay, go to sleep now."

Riemann had a catheter inserted, so he didn't worry about going to the toilet.

Chen Shi walked to the small bed next to him and lay down. Soon, he could hear his even breathing.

Lying in her hospital bed, Li Man suddenly thought of Huo Jiansheng for some reason.

The last time she was beaten and hospitalized, it was Huo Jiansheng who took care of her.

I have no idea what he's doing now.

Just then, the door was suddenly pushed open from the outside, and Huo Jiansheng walked in, looking travel-worn.

When Li Man saw Huo Jiansheng, she was stunned.

I could hardly believe it.

Her eyes widened in surprise as she asked, "Huo Jiansheng, what brings you here?"

Huo Jiansheng stepped forward, his worry evident in his eyes. "Awake?"

"Hmm, I just woke up. What brings you here? Who told you?"

"It was your mother who told me."

He called Riemann, but Zhang Yan answered the phone.

Upon learning that Riemann was injured and hospitalized, he immediately flew over.
