Chapter 34 Interview
Huo Jiansheng looked at Li Man with a half-smile, "Is there anyone else here?"
He had a deep impression of Riemann. The first time he saw her was at the company entrance, when she was almost beaten by her husband. The second time he met her was at the hospital, when she had been beaten black and blue by her husband and looked quite pitiful.
Riemann smiled awkwardly, surprised that the other person still remembered her. "You work here?"
Huo Jiansheng nodded and looked Li Man up and down. "Are you here for an interview?"
Riemann nodded and said, "Yes, I'm here for a sales interview."
"You used to work in sales?" Huo Jiansheng asked again.
“No,” Riemann said honestly. “Although I’ve never done it before, isn’t sales easy? As long as you have thick skin, there’s nothing you can’t sell.”
"Are you shameless?" Huo Jiansheng asked jokingly.
Riemann rolled her eyes and said, "When you're broke, you have to be thick-skinned whether you want to or not. It's the pressure of life. There's no other way. It's not that I want to be thick-skinned, but I have no choice!"
Huo Jiansheng nodded in agreement, "Then I wish you good luck!"
"Thank you! By the way, which department are you in?" Riemann asked.
"Uh, I'm in the HR department," Huo Jiansheng casually made up. He could decide the fate of anyone in the company, so saying he was in the HR department didn't seem wrong.
"If I get the job, we'll be colleagues. Hello, my name is Li Man. We've known each other for so long, but I still don't know your name?"
"My name is Huo Jiansheng."
"Huo Jiansheng, I'll go to the interview first, we can talk again when we have time."
"Go ahead, and good luck!"
"Thank you! I'll be going now."
Riemann thanked him and just then saw the elevator arrive, so she quickly ran into it.
Huo Jiansheng turned around, took out his phone from his pocket, and called the sales manager. "A woman named Li Man will be coming to interview you in a little while. Keep her here. But don't let her know who I am, and don't treat her differently."
"Okay, okay, okay." Manager Zhang said, bowing and scraping as he held his phone, "Don't worry, Mr. Huo, I will definitely keep it confidential."
Huo Jiansheng grunted in agreement and hung up the phone.
He didn't call Manager Zhang for any other reason. During his brief conversation with Li Man, he could tell that Li Man really needed this job. He knew how difficult it was for her, so he was willing to give her this opportunity.
Riemann arrived at the sales department and gently knocked on the door.
"Please come in."
A deep voice came out, and Riemann gently pushed the door open and entered.
"Hello, I'm here for an interview. My name is Riemann."
Upon hearing that it was Li Man, Manager Zhang looked up from the folder and sized her up, wondering about the relationship between Li Man and Huo Jiansheng.
Riemann respectfully handed over the resume he had prepared.
Manager Zhang took the resume and looked at it carefully. In the work experience section, he did not see that Riemann had any sales experience.
"You've never done sales before? And you've been out of touch with society for eleven years?"
Manager Zhang frowned involuntarily. If Huo Jiansheng hadn't spoken to him beforehand, he really wouldn't have wanted her.
“I have no sales experience, but I am hardworking. Although I have not worked for almost ten years, I do not feel out of touch with society. I am willing to learn and I will do my best to do this job well.”
"How can you guarantee that you can do this job well?" Although Huo Jiansheng asked him to keep Li Man, he still wanted to make things difficult for her to see if she could handle the job.
"The most important things in sales are being able to endure hardship, being good at reading people, understanding customers' needs, and striving to meet those needs. When you meet the customer's needs, you're not far from closing the deal. I possess all of these qualities," Riemann said confidently.
