Chapter 358 Living with Grandma
After tidying up the kitchen, Zhang Yan went to Huang Duoduo's door and gently knocked.
Huang Duoduo had just called Huang Dehan, but his phone was off. She was feeling annoyed when she heard a knock on the door. Thinking it was Li Man, she shouted loudly at the door, "What? I need to study, don't bother me!"
Zhang Yan quickly said, "Duoduo, it's me, Grandma! Open the door quickly."
Hearing her grandmother's voice, Huang Duoduo went over to open the door and asked softly, "Grandma, what is it?"
Zhang Yan looked at Huang Duoduo and said with heartache, "Grandma noticed you didn't eat earlier. Are you hungry? Grandma will make you a bowl of noodles."
Huang Duoduo only ate a couple of bites of rice; how could she possibly be full?
Seeing how much her grandmother cared for her, Huang Duoduo was very touched. "Okay, thank you, Grandma."
Zhang Yan smiled, her wrinkles resembling a blooming chrysanthemum. "Then wait here, Grandma will go and get it for you right away."
Huang Duoduo glanced around the living room and, not seeing Huo Jiansheng and Li Man, asked, "Where's my mom?"
"Your mother went out."
As she spoke, Zhang Yan went to the kitchen and began cooking noodles for Huang Duoduo.
Huang Duoduo also came out of the room, went to the living room, and turned on the TV.
The noodles were cooked quickly, and Zhang Yan called to Huang Duoduo, "Duoduo, come over here quickly."
"Okay," Huang Duoduo replied, getting up and sitting down at the dining table.
The noodles were quite substantial, containing pork ribs, a poached egg, and green vegetables.
It looked delicious, and Huang Duoduo's mouth watered. She picked up her chopsticks and started slurping it down.
Zhang Yan sat to the side, looking at Huang Duoduo with a kind expression, and asked, "Is it delicious?"
"Mmm, delicious!" Huang Duoduo replied indistinctly, her cheeks bulging like a little hamster.
Seeing that Huang Duoduo was in a good mood, Zhang Yan couldn't help but ask, "Don't you like Uncle Huo?"
Mentioning Huo Jiansheng made Huang Duoduo instantly lose her appetite for the noodles in her mouth. She said sullenly, "Grandma, don't mention him in front of me. I hate him!"
Zhang Yan quickly pressed, "Why do you dislike him?"
Huang Duoduo said angrily, "I just hate it, there's no reason why!"
Zhang Yan sighed and said, "There's always a reason for disliking someone, right? Do you feel like he stole your mother?"
Huang Duoduo put down her chopsticks and said, "Isn't that right? He's dating Mom right now, isn't he? What will I be if Mom marries him?"
Zhang Yan's eyes were full of heartache as she lovingly stroked Huang Duoduo's hair and said, "If your mother marries him, then you can live with your grandmother, okay?"
Huang Duoduo hesitated for a moment and asked, "Will Mom really marry Uncle Huo?"
Zhang Yan shook her head and said, "Grandma doesn't know either, but your mother is still young. She can't stay unmarried forever, can she?"
Huang Duoduo asked, puzzled, "Why does she have to get married? Isn't she good enough with me?"
Zhang Yan smiled bitterly and said, "Silly child, you're growing up, you'll have to get married eventually. If you get married, won't your mother be all alone and miserable?"
Huang Duoduo was even more puzzled and said, "Then she can wait until I get married before she looks for someone. Why does she have to look for someone so early?"
Zhang Yan said helplessly, "By the time you grow up and get married, your mother will be old. How will you find someone then?"
Huang Duoduo said matter-of-factly, "Then don't look for her. I'll come back to see her often."
Zhang Yan sighed again and said, "You're still young, you don't understand. Anyway, just don't worry about your mother. If she gets married, you can live with your grandmother, okay?"
