Chapter 595 Trying to Escape

Chapter 595 Trying to Escape

The dormitory consisted of two rows of single-story houses with dilapidated doors. The so-called beds were nothing more than a bed board placed on a few stones.

Back in the dormitory, it was time for dinner, and everyone lined up to get their food.

Several Black women were dedicated to cooking.

Huang Dehan also joined the queue. By this time, he was starving, his stomach practically sticking to his back.

Dinner consisted of a local bread roll and a bowl of dark, unidentifiable soup.

The broth was dark and murky; I had no idea what was added to it or what it was cooked with. It looked completely unappetizing.

But even if you don't have an appetite, you still have to eat. After getting his dinner, Huang Dehan found a corner and plopped down on the ground.

Without even washing his hands, he grabbed a piece of bread and stuffed it into his mouth, only to find that the bread was too hard to bite.

A man of Asian descent next to me laughed and said, "You can't bite it like that. You have to dip it in the broth, like this."

As he spoke, the man even demonstrated it to him.

Hearing Mandarin spoken, Huang Dehan felt a sense of warmth and said gratefully, "Thank you!"

He did as instructed, soaking the bread in the dark soup and eating it by dipping it in the broth.

It tasted strange, but he was so hungry that he didn't care about the taste and wolfed it down.

In no time, they finished all the food in their hands.

But he still felt not full.

The Asian man who had been talking to him earlier had also finished eating and tried to strike up a conversation: "Where are you from? How did you end up here?"

Huang Dehan lowered his eyes and said calmly, "They were sent here by our enemies."

The Asian man clicked his tongue. "The person you've messed with is no ordinary person."

And you? Why are you here?

Huang Dehan glanced at the blank-faced people around him and asked.

The Asian man said angrily, "I was tricked into coming here. I trusted the high-paying job offer and ended up being sold here."

Huang Dehan asked, "How long have you been here?"

"It's been about a month or so."

"What should I call you?"

"Liu Bin, what about you?"

"Dong Ping."

The two talked in hushed tones, only able to relax a little after get off work.

After finishing their meal, everyone went back to their dormitories to rest.

After a long day, all I want to do is go home and rest.

Seeing people gradually returning to their dormitories and no one guarding the outside, Huang Dehan asked curiously, "Why is no one guarding them? Aren't they afraid we'll escape?"

Liu Bin smiled bitterly, raised the iron chain on his wrist, and said, "With these things on us, do you think we can escape? Besides, this is a desolate wilderness, where can you run to? I'm afraid you'll starve to death before you even get out."

Huang Dehan looked to the other side, where more than a dozen black people were drinking and eating meat; they were the managers here.

Huang Dehan lowered his voice and said, "Do you want to run away?"

Liu Bin shook his head and said in a low voice, "I don't want to. Actually, it's not that no one has ever escaped, but they've all been caught and brought back."

“I saw people who tried to escape being caught and beaten to death with electric batons. It was too horrific. I would never dare to run away.”

Huang Dehan pursed his lips and looked up into the distance.

This place is vast and boundless, offering only endless desolation.

"Didn't anyone manage to escape?"

“Yes!” Liu Bin said, “I heard from them that some people have successfully escaped, but I haven’t seen anyone successfully escape in all the time I’ve been here.”

Upon hearing about successful escape cases, Huang Dehan was invigorated and secretly resolved to find a way to escape!

Seemingly sensing Huang Dehan's thoughts, Liu Bin said, "If you have this idea, I advise you to give it up immediately. It's too dangerous. If you are caught, you will only face death."
