Chapter 599 Meeting the Parents
Seeing Li Man's fear, Huo Jiansheng tightened his grip on her hand and comforted her, "Don't be afraid, my family is very easygoing, they won't make things difficult for you."
Nodding gratefully, Li Man mustered her courage and followed Huo Jiansheng inside.
The 95-year-old grandmother sat upright in the hall, full of energy, with a kind smile and a blessed appearance.
Her son and daughter-in-law sat on either side of her.
Sitting on her left is her eldest son, Huo Donglai, the head of the Huo family and Huo Jiansheng's father. Next to Huo Donglai sits his wife, Bai Yunxiang, who is Huo Jiansheng's mother.
Next to Bai Yunxiang sat her sister-in-law, Huo Lianmin.
Sitting to her right are her second son, Huo Dongsheng, and his wife, Lu Wenjing.
Sitting next to Lu Wenjing were her third son, Huo Dongyi, and his wife, Liu Jiale.
The younger generation sat to the side.
Seeing the two walk in hand in hand, everyone stood up with smiles to welcome them.
Huo Jiansheng smiled and nodded to the elders in the room. He took Li Man's hand and led her to his grandmother, saying affectionately, "Grandma, I've brought your granddaughter-in-law back."
Upon hearing this, everyone burst into laughter.
Riemann blushed and shyly called out, "Grandma!"
The old lady immediately beamed and replied, "Yes."
She beckoned to Riemann, "Come here, let Grandma take a look."
Li Man looked up at Huo Jiansheng, who gave her an encouraging look. Feeling reassured, she let go of Huo Jiansheng's hand and walked towards the old lady.
The old lady kindly took Riemann's hand, patted it gently, and said with a smile, "Good, good, really good."
As she spoke, she shakily pulled a large red envelope from her pocket and stuffed it into Li Man's hand. "This is a token of my love from Grandma. You can't refuse it."
Riemann blushed, accepted the red envelope, and said, "Thank you, Grandma."
"Eh, eh."
The old lady responded repeatedly, beaming from ear to ear. She nudged Li Man toward Huo Jiansheng's parents, saying, "Good girl, go ahead and greet the elders."
Riemann obediently replied, "Okay!"
Huo Jiansheng then stepped forward and led Li Man to his parents, introducing her as, "This is my girlfriend Li Man, this is my dad, and this is my mom."
Li Man quickly said, "Hello, Uncle and Aunt!"
Huo Jiansheng's mother was very well-maintained and looked very young. She smiled broadly, her eyes filled with undisguised satisfaction, and nodded repeatedly, saying, "Good, good, so good."
As she spoke, she took out a red envelope that she had prepared beforehand and stuffed it into Li Man's hand, saying, "This is a token of my aunt and uncle's affection. Please accept it."
"Thank you, Uncle and Auntie," Li Man said quickly, clutching the red envelope.
Huo Jiansheng took Li Man and introduced her to his relatives one by one.
Riemann greeted everyone obediently, and each elder gave her a large red envelope.
When Huo Jiansheng introduced Huo Lianmin, he said with a smile, "This is my aunt who loves me the most."
Li Man quickly followed suit, saying, "Hello, Auntie!"
Huo Lianmin nodded in satisfaction, a smile playing on her lips, and handed the prepared gift to Li Man, saying, "This is for you from your aunt."
Li Man took it and said sweetly, "Thank you, Auntie."
After introducing the elders, Huo Jiansheng then introduced Li Man to his brothers and sisters.
Fortunately, Huo Jiansheng had already told her about each member of the family, so after going around to each of them, Li Man remembered them all.
