Chapter 66 ill intentions

Chapter 66 ill intentions

Riemann didn't sleep well last night, and got up early this morning. After returning home, she fell asleep as soon as she lay down on the bed.

I don't know how long I slept, but suddenly I heard the sound of the bedroom doorknob turning, followed by an unfamiliar voice: "Why is it locked? Is she in there?"

Immediately afterwards, the door was pounded on, and Huang Dehan's voice rang out: "Liman, are you in there?"

Riemann lay motionless on the bed and responded, "I'm sleeping, don't bother me."

Zhao Liang and Huang Dehan exchanged glances outside the door, and Huang Dehan said, "Have you eaten? I brought back some groceries, come out and eat with us."

Riemann didn't move and replied, "I'm not hungry, you guys eat."

Riemann always adhered to one truth: Unsolicited kindness is either a trap or a thief. Last time he was so attentive, pouring her milk; what kind of trouble is he up to this time?

Riemann wasn't that stupid; she had no intention of going out to cooperate with his act.

"Can you come out? I brought a friend back with me, please do me a favor?"

Huang Dehan spoke in an almost pleading voice, while also emphasizing that he had brought friends back and asking her to give him some face.

But Riemann knew he had ill intentions, so she remained unmoved. "I'm sorry, I'm really tired. You guys eat by yourselves, I won't go out."

Huang Dehan was furious, but he couldn't do anything about Li Man. He brought Zhao Liang home, hoping that Zhao Liang would take care of Li Man at home.

But Riemann refused to come out, and he couldn't find an opportunity.

He gave Zhao Liang a look, and the two returned to the bedroom to discuss their next move.

“She refuses to come out, what should we do?” Zhao Liang asked.

“Why don’t we eat first? I don’t believe she can hide in her room forever. As soon as she comes out, you can make your move,” Huang Dehan said.

“Okay!” Zhao Liang readily agreed.

It's said that Zhao Liang was desperate for money, which is why he cooperated so well with Huang Dehan. Moreover, Huang Dehan assured him that nothing would go wrong, and even if something did, he would take the blame.

The two returned to the living room, where Huang Dehan placed the groceries he had packed on the coffee table and opened two bottles of beer. They drank and watched TV together.

Lying in bed, Li Man felt increasingly uneasy. Huang Dehan almost never brought friends home, so why did he suddenly bring one today? And why did he kindly invite her out to dinner?

Riemann then recalled the recording she had overheard, and felt even more strongly that Huang Dehan had ill intentions.

She quickly took out her phone and called Tan Xiyuan, asking her to come over.

Tan Xiyuan was puzzled. "What's wrong?"

On the phone, Riemann didn't know how to explain, so she said, "Huang Dehan brought a friend home, and I suspect he wants to harm me."

Tan Xiyuan chuckled and said, "Do you watch too much TV? How could bringing a friend home be a bad thing for you?"

"Oh, I'll tell you later, hurry up and come over."

"Okay, I'll call you when I get there."

"Don't come in for a while, just wait for me at the door."

"Okay, be careful, I'm coming over now."

"Okay, I'm hanging up."

After hanging up the phone, Li Man got up to pack her things; she wouldn't be coming back tonight.

Forty minutes later, Tan Xiyuan arrived. Before knocking on the door, she called Li Man to let her know that she had arrived.

When Li Man opened the door, Huang Dehan also opened the door for Tan Xiyuan.

"Liman, let's go." Tan Xiyuan called out from the doorway without going inside.
