Chapter 8 Please don't divorce Dad, okay?
Huang Duoduo, unsuspecting, said, "Hurry up and get me breakfast, I'm going back to school today."
Riemann yawned and got out of bed.
She went to bed very late last night, and it felt like she had just closed her eyes when her daughter shook her awake.
She casually tied her hair up, slipped on her slippers, and headed to the kitchen.
She took out two tomatoes, two sausages, and three eggs from the refrigerator, ready to make noodles.
Huang Duoduo quickly finished washing up, changed into her uniform, and tidied herself up. As she walked out of the room, she smelled the delicious aroma wafting from the kitchen.
"Come on over and have breakfast. I'll take you back to school after you're done," Li Man called out.
"Coming!" Huang Duoduo hurried to the dining room, calling out to the master bedroom, "Dad, get up and have breakfast!"
Just as Huang Duoduo sat down, the door to the master bedroom opened, and Huang Dehan walked out with disheveled hair.
Riemann glanced at Huang Dehan and silently served him a bowl of noodles.
While her daughter was eating breakfast, Li Man quickly brushed her teeth and washed her face.
After she finished tidying up, her daughter also finished her breakfast.
"Dad, take your time eating, I'm going to school now."
Huang Duoduo said goodbye to her father and then went out with her mother.
"Okay, be careful on the road!"
Huang Dehan gave a kind smile and gave his instructions.
"Okay."
Huang Duoduo walked to the door and responded.
Looking at this warm and harmonious scene, Li Man suddenly felt a little sad. Before discovering Huang Dehan's infidelity, Li Man always felt that her marriage was happy.
After discovering Huang Dehan's infidelity, she was shocked to realize how foolish she had been!
The car that Li Man was driving was an old car that Huang Dehan had retired. He bought a new car and gave the old car to Li Man to drive.
Even the cell phone Riemann used was an old one discarded by Huang Dehan.
Huang Dehan is an Apple fan and buys the latest iPhone every year. His old phone was actually quite new; he only used it for a year before Li Man picked it up and started using it.
On the way to school, Li Man asked her daughter, "Are there any classmates in your class whose parents are divorced?"
“Yes, there are plenty.” After Huang Duoduo finished speaking, she looked at Li Man and said jokingly, “Mom, why are you asking this? Don’t tell me you want to divorce Dad too?”
Riemann tightened her grip on the steering wheel and tentatively asked, "If I really divorce your father, who will you live with?"
"Mom, are you crazy?" Huang Duoduo shouted excitedly. "You better give up this idea right now! I don't agree to your divorce. If you dare to divorce me, I'll kill myself!"
Riemann hadn't expected her daughter to be so agitated, and quickly said, "I was just using an analogy, I'm not really talking about getting a divorce."
"Hmph!" Huang Duoduo grumbled, "I don't care, you just can't get a divorce!"
"Why can't you get a divorce? Didn't you say that many of your classmates have divorced parents?"
"It's because my classmates' parents are all divorced that I don't want you to get divorced, because I know their pain."
Huang Duoduo's little face scrunched up as she asked, "Mom, do you still remember Chen Peiqiang?"
Riemann felt a pang in her heart. Of course she remembered; it was a pitiful child.
Huang Duoduo continued, "His parents divorced and each formed new families. He went to find his father, but his father told him to go to his mother. He went to find his mother, but his mother told him to go to his father. They kept pushing him back and forth, and finally, he jumped off the school building and died!"
As she spoke, Huang Duoduo's eyes reddened. She looked at Li Man with a pleading expression, "Mom, please, don't divorce Dad, okay?"
"If you insist on getting a divorce, can you wait until I'm grown up and can live independently before you get a divorce?"
Looking at her daughter's pitiful little face, Li Man felt a pang of sadness and wanted to cry. She stroked her daughter's head and said, "Okay, Mommy will try her best!"
Upon hearing this, Huang Duoduo stopped crying and started laughing.
