Chapter 119 Leaving the City

Chapter 119 Leaving the City

"Something's happened." Granny Sun frowned and whispered in Ye Wanning's ear.

"What?" Upon hearing what Granny Sun said, Ye Wanning felt a tightness in her chest. She quickly grasped Granny Sun's hand and asked softly, "What's wrong?"

"This...it's hard to explain in a short time..." Granny Sun frowned, looked at Ye Wanning for a long while, and her face was a little embarrassed. "You should go and take a look!"

"Okay." Ye Wanning frowned and quickly walked into the manor.

As soon as she entered the backyard, she heard a quarrel coming from inside. Ye Wanning was startled and looked at Granny Sun with a puzzled expression, "What's going on?"

Granny Sun shook her head, looking at Ye Wanning with some helplessness, "You'll know once you go and see for yourself."

Hearing what Granny Sun said, Ye Wanning was even more puzzled. She placed the package in Granny Sun's hands, turned around, and quickly walked into the courtyard. When she entered, she found Su Wenliang and Sun Fuquan arguing fiercely about something, and it looked like they were about to fight.

Ye Wanning frowned and quickly stepped forward to separate the two, asking, "What are you doing?"

"Your Highness." Upon seeing Ye Wanning approach, Sun Fuquan hurriedly went to greet her, as if he had seen a savior. "You've finally arrived!"

"What's wrong?" Ye Wanning looked at Su Wenliang with some confusion, then at Sun Fuquan. "What are you arguing about?"

“He…” Sun Fuquan pointed at Su Wenliang and shook his head, saying helplessly, “He…he…he doesn’t want to hide in this pile of goods…”

Hearing Sun Fuquan say that, Ye Wanning was taken aback, turned to look at Su Wenliang, and asked with a puzzled expression, "What's wrong?"

Su Wenliang's face suddenly turned bright red. He looked at Ye Wanning and said somewhat awkwardly, "Sister-in-law... this... this..." As he spoke, he pointed to the undergarment beside him and asked, "What is this...?"

"This is undergarment." Ye Wanning was taken aback, looking at Su Wenliang with some confusion. "What's wrong?"

Su Wenliang's face turned even redder, "This thing... I... how could I hide inside this thing..."

"Why not?" As soon as she said it, Ye Wanning realized something was wrong. She looked at Su Wenliang, her lips twitching slightly, her face darkening. After a while, she looked at Su Wenliang and said helplessly, "Then what are you going to do?"

"Isn't there any other way..." Su Wenliang frowned, looking embarrassed.

"No." Ye Wanning shook her head. Her original plan was to hide Su Wenliang and Qiao Ke in separate boxes, stuffing them with cloth so they would be more comfortable. Besides, it was such an embarrassing situation, so the soldiers probably wouldn't insist on checking. Thinking this, she looked at Su Wenliang and said good-naturedly, "Just bear with it. It'll be fine once we're out of the city. It won't take long."

“But…” Su Wenliang looked at Ye Wanning, his brows furrowing in embarrassment, “I…”

"How can a man of his stature stoop to such a level!" Before Su Wenliang could finish speaking, Qiao Ke suddenly interrupted, looking at Ye Wanning with displeasure, "Is this the Princess's plan?"

Looking at the two people throwing a tantrum, Ye Wanning felt a terrible headache coming on. This Qiao Ke… why did she find him so increasingly unpleasant? Forget it, she decided not to argue with these two idiots! Thinking this, Ye Wanning frowned, looked at Qiao Ke, and continued to explain patiently, “This is the kind of business cloth shops do now. Besides, you'll feel more comfortable hiding among these undergarments. These things are inherently embarrassing, and the soldiers won't make things difficult for you…”

Before she could finish speaking, Qiao Ke interrupted, "Since the Princess Consort knows how awkward it is, don't you think the Third Prince and I also feel awkward?"

"Oh ho!" Upon hearing this, Ye Wanning looked at Qiao Ke, her anger rising uncontrollably. Did this guy not know his place now? She widened her eyes, looked at Qiao Ke, and said fiercely, "Hide it or don't! If you don't want to hide, get out of here now! I'm too lazy to go through this with you!" With that, Ye Wanning turned around and was about to leave.

Seeing this, Su Wenliang stepped forward and quickly pulled Ye Wanning back, "Sister-in-law, you mustn't..." He turned to Qiao Ke, "Qiao Ke, shut up!"

Ye Wanning frowned, somewhat impatiently pushing Su Wenliang's hand away. She said in a low voice, "Hide it or not? If you don't, I'm leaving. You're wasting my time!"

Hearing Ye Wanning say that, Su Wenliang bit his lip. After a long while, looking at Ye Wanning's back, as if he had made up his mind, he said, "Hide!"

"Why didn't you say so earlier!" Ye Wanning smiled, turned around and squinted at Su Wenliang, "In that case, I'll trouble the Third Prince to go quickly!"

One day, a caravan suddenly appeared outside the city gate of Duyang. "Who is in the carriage?" Upon seeing this, the guards at the gate hurriedly went to greet them. "You need to be checked before leaving the city."

"This is a caravan from a cloth shop under the Prince of Jin's name." Seeing this, the coachman said with a forced smile, "The goods are already packaged, making them difficult to inspect!"

"You say it's under the name of the Prince of Jin's residence, so it's under the name of the Prince of Jin's residence?" Hearing the coachman say this, the soldier frowned, turned around and walked forward, "The imperial court has issued an order that everyone leaving the city must be checked!"

"What do you mean by this?" Hearing the commotion outside the carriage, Ye Wanning lifted the carriage curtain and said impatiently to the soldiers beside her, "Do you think we're lying to you?"

"Princess Consort of Jin." The soldier was startled to see that the person who poked his head out was Ye Wanning. He quickly bowed and said, "This subordinate was blind and I hope Princess Consort of Jin will forgive me."

"Never mind." Ye Wanning frowned and waved her hand. "It's your duty, I don't blame you." She then looked at the soldier. "Well? Now that you've seen me, can you let us through?"

"This..." The soldier hesitated, biting his lip. He glanced at Ye Wanning and replied timidly, "But... the imperial decree has decreed that no matter who it is... they must..."

"How dare you!" Upon hearing the soldier's words, Granny Sun frowned and scolded, "Don't you know who's sitting in this carriage?!"

"Your Highness, please calm down! Your Highness, please calm down!" Upon hearing this, the soldier knelt down repeatedly. Now that the Prince of Jin was overseeing the country, the Princess of Jin was naturally someone he couldn't afford to offend. However… he kowtowed and begged for mercy, saying, "Your Highness, I… I… I had no choice but to do this…"

"Granny Sun." Seeing this, Ye Wanning quickly stopped Granny Sun, who was standing to the side. She shook her head helplessly. What the soldier said made sense, and she couldn't make things difficult for him. Fortunately, she was prepared. Thinking this, Ye Wanning smiled, took out a jade token from her sleeve, and handed it to the soldier. "Can we leave the city now?"

The officer was taken aback. Upon seeing the jade token, he was startled and immediately shouted to the officers behind him, "Let them pass!"

After the carriage had been traveling for a while, Ye Wanning looked behind her and, estimating that no one was following her, gave Granny Sun a wink.

Seeing this, Granny Sun quickly called out to the coachman outside the carriage, "The princess is feeling unwell. You should walk along the side road first, and then turn onto the main road later."

Hearing Sun Mama's excuse, Ye Wanning felt her face burning. She turned her head and glanced at Sun Mama awkwardly, "Mama..."

Granny Sun looked at Ye Wanning, covered her mouth and smiled, but didn't say anything.

Before long, the carriage stopped. Ye Wanning got off the carriage and, together with the coachman and others, unloaded the two large boxes from the back of the carriage. As soon as the boxes were opened, a wail came from inside, "Sister-in-law, you can finally come out!"

"Louder!" Ye Wanning frowned and slapped Su Wenliang on the back of the head as he stood up. "If anyone hears us, we'll both be in big trouble!"

"You're right, sister-in-law." Su Wenliang rubbed his head and said to Ye Wanning with a smile, "It should be smaller, it should be smaller."

As soon as she finished speaking, she heard the sound of horses' hooves behind her. Ye Wanning was startled and turned around, only to see a group of people riding horses galloping towards her. She was stunned and stared at the scene in front of her in astonishment. The leader looked so much like... Su Wenyan!

She turned her head and looked at Su Wenliang, who was still sitting in the box. What was going on?
