Chapter 26 Wan Ning's Trap
"Cough cough..." Upon hearing this, Su Wenyan choked a little, staring wide-eyed at Ye Wanning with a look full of embarrassment. "Second sister-in-law, what are you saying! How can I, a dignified eight-foot man, wear women's clothes!"
"Oh?" Ye Wanning raised an eyebrow, looked at Su Wenyan, and then said mysteriously with half-closed eyes, "Wenyan, you only heard half of what you just said. Actually, there's another half."
"Huh?" Su Wenyan was taken aback, seemingly very interested in Ye Wanning's words. He moved closer to Ye Wanning and asked curiously, "What's the other half?"
“It’s just…” Ye Wanning smiled, “That kind of clothing makes a man look more like a man.”
"Really!" Hearing Ye Wanning say that, Su Wenyan's curiosity grew even stronger, and his eyes began to light up as he stared at Ye Wanning. "Second sister-in-law, can I discuss something with you?"
"What is it?" Ye Wanning picked up the teacup beside her. "Tell me, if it's something I can do..." Ye Wanning smiled at Su Wenyan. "I will definitely help my brother."
"It's just..." Su Wenyan looked up at Ye Wanning pitifully, "When the new clothes arrive, could I try them on, sister-in-law?"
Ye Wanning took a sip of tea and after a while said, "That's not a problem, but I'm afraid you'll find it too simple and won't want to wear it."
"How could that be!" Su Wenyan said obsequiously, "Since it's a new dress that my sister-in-law wanted made, it must be very beautiful." He blinked, "How could there be any dislike? I was even afraid that my sister-in-law wouldn't let me wear it!"
"Really?" Ye Wanning looked at him and smiled strangely. "Wenyan, are you sure you won't mind?"
"Of course not!" Su Wenyan patted his chest and assured her confidently, "Don't even mention complaining, I'll wear any clothes that my sister-in-law brings me!"
Hearing this, Ye Wanning raised an eyebrow. "You said those words."
"Of course! As long as my sister-in-law lets me wear it, I'll do anything you ask!" As soon as he said it, Su Wenyan suddenly felt something was off. Was his second sister-in-law deliberately making this promise for him? What was going on? He looked at Ye Wanning suspiciously and asked cautiously, "But what kind of new clothes is this second sister-in-law talking about?"
Seeing Su Wenyan's suspicious look, Ye Wanning put down her teacup and coughed twice. "It's getting late, Wenyan, you should go back to your room. I should rest too. As for the clothes..." Ye Wanning raised an eyebrow and smiled with a hint of amusement, "You'll see them tomorrow."
Su Wenyan was taken aback, knowing that Ye Wanning wouldn't say anything if he asked any further. He stroked his chin, guessing that his second sister-in-law wouldn't be too harsh on him. After hesitating for a while, Su Wenyan replied, "Alright, I'll go back first. Sister-in-law, please rest well."
Seeing Su Wenyan's departing figure, Cui'er looked at Ye Wanning with some confusion. "Your Majesty..." Remembering Ye Wanning's words just now, Cui'er immediately fell silent. She then began to speak, "This humble servant..." Feeling that something was still amiss, Cui'er stopped again, a blush spreading across her face. She was unsure how to begin, "This servant... I... I... I..."
Seeing Cui'er's bewildered look, Ye Wanning couldn't help but laugh. She grinned and said happily, "Cui'er, what are you doing! You can't even speak properly now that the Fourth Prince is here."
Cui'er blushed, and looking at Ye Wanning, she couldn't help but feel a little angry, "It's not that..."
"What is it?" Ye Wanning squinted. "You really do like the Fourth Prince! It seems I..."
Upon hearing this, Cui'er immediately cried out, "No way! Sister... Sister... Sister, you're making fun of me again!" After finally managing to say those two words, Cui'er felt it was inappropriate and patted her head in annoyance, "If Granny Sun knew I called you that, she would scold me to death!"
"Alright, alright!" Ye Wanning chuckled. "I know you're not used to calling me that yet. Here's what we'll do: take it slow. Don't call yourself a servant yet. When you're with me, call me 'elder sister.' When we're out, if you feel uncomfortable, just call me 'Princess Consort'!"
Cui'er nodded. This was for the best; it would prevent others from saying that the maids around her mistress didn't know their manners. Cui'er smiled, "Yes, ma'am..."
Hearing Cui'er about to say those two words again, Ye Wanning immediately glared at her, "It seems my Cui'er really wants to get married!"
"No, no!" Cui'er blushed and waved her hand as she explained, "I know I was wrong, I will never say those two words again."
After teasing Cui'er for a while, Ye Wanning felt that was enough. If she continued teasing the little girl, she might really get angry. Even a rabbit will bite when cornered! She smiled and looked at Cui'er, "Cui'er, what did you want to ask just now?"
"Huh?" Cui'er was taken aback, then looked at Ye Wanning with some confusion. "Just now... Sister said the Fourth Prince should try on the new clothes, but didn't Sister say before that these new clothes were... a modified version of undergarments?" Cui'er frowned. "Isn't it a bit too much for the Fourth Prince to try on these undergarments..."
Hearing Cui'er's words, Ye Wanning couldn't help but look at Cui'er with amusement, "Is Cui'er standing up for the Fourth Prince?"
"I……"
"Alright." Ye Wanning waved her hand, stood up, and yawned. "You saw it yourself just now, I didn't force him, he agreed to it all on his own." Ye Wanning turned to look out the window. "Don't worry, I won't do anything to him. It's getting late." She looked at Cui'er. "I'm tired too, let's get some rest. We have a lot to do tomorrow!"
The next morning, Ye Wanning had just finished washing up when she heard Su Wenyan calling from outside.
Ye Wanning glanced at Cui'er standing beside her. "Cui'er, has Granny Sun brought the clothes yet?"
"It's here." Cui'er frowned, looking somewhat troubled, and said, "Sister, do you really want it..."
"Go ahead!" Ye Wanning interrupted her, giving a lewd smile. "Today we can finally watch a good show."
Seeing Ye Wanning's unusually excited expression, Cui'er couldn't help but feel a little apprehensive. It seemed that offending this young lady... wouldn't end well...
While Cui'er went to get the clothes, Ye Wanning went outside and saw Su Wenyan with a gloomy face. She was taken aback and asked, "Wenyan, what's wrong? You look so pale?"
Su Wenyan lowered his head with a hint of resentment, thinking to himself, "It's all because of your good husband. He slept on the floor all night, how could he look so good!" He sighed and said, "It's nothing, it's just that my brother keeps kicking off the covers and woke up several times during the night, so he didn't sleep well."
"Oh?" Ye Wanning yawned, then looked up at Su Wenyan. "Wenzhen hasn't woken up yet?"
"Yes." Su Wenyan said with a hint of grievance, "Your Majesty slept soundly."
Ye Wanning smiled. As long as Wenzhen is sleeping soundly, I don't care about you. She put her hands behind her back and smiled at Su Wenyan, "Wenyan, you got up really early today."
He waited so long before dawn! Su Wenyan thought to himself, but with the belief that pleasing his sister-in-law would guarantee him food, he still fawned, "Of course." He smiled, his eyes narrowing into slits, "Isn't it all so I could see the new clothes my sister-in-law mentioned? I've been thinking about them all night!"
"Oh?" Ye Wanning squinted at him, and when she saw Cui'er walking towards them, a strange smile appeared on her lips. "No rush, look," she pointed to Cui'er, "she's here."
