Chapter 36 The Crown Princess Arrives
Since returning from Huilan Palace that day, no one has bothered Ye Wanning and Su Wenzhen. Ye Wanning has finally found some peace and quiet. She finds it tiring to act with others all the time, and she's not a professional actress!
That day, the two of them spent their time outside as usual. Ye Wanning sat in the courtyard outside the house, looking at Su Wenzhen who was taking a nap beside her, and couldn't help but sigh softly. This harem was really boring. She was almost getting moldy from staying here for the past few days. Because she knew that someone was secretly monitoring their actions, she couldn't do anything. Yet, it seemed she was actually quite enjoying it. Was she a masochist? Thinking of this, Ye Wanning couldn't help but smile. She paused, about to withdraw her hand, but was unexpectedly grabbed by her subordinates.
"Wife..." Su Wenzhen sounded like he had just woken up, his voice still a little weak, "Where are you going?"
Looking at Su Wenzhen's wet eyes, Ye Wanning couldn't help but recall the first time she saw him, when he was just as soft and gentle... She smiled and pointed to the vegetable garden next to her, "I'll go water them so they don't die of thirst."
Upon hearing this, Su Wenzhen jumped up from the cool couch with a "whoosh," shouting, "I want to go too! I want to go too!"
"Okay!" Ye Wanning smiled. A few days ago, she was so bored that she asked a few eunuchs to turn an unused small garden into this vegetable garden. She obtained a few seedlings from various places and spent some time looking at it every day. She just didn't know how long they would stay here. "Oh?" Ye Wanqing narrowed her eyes and flicked Qiu Shan's head. "She's quite a good maid who protects her mistress. How come I didn't notice her before?" "I see." Ye Wanqing sneered. "She's quite the schemer!"
"Huh?" Ye Wanning looked at Ye Wanyi, feigning ignorance, and asked, "What's so clever about it?"
"Nothing?" Ye Wanqing glanced at Ye Wanning and waved her hand. "I have to thank you today, sister, otherwise I would have been kept in the dark forever."
"Huh?" Ye Wanning looked at Ye Wanqing, pretending to be confused. "Sister, what are you talking about? I don't understand."
"There's no need to understand." Ye Wanqing smiled, her expression somewhat enigmatic. "You'll know in a while." She yawned softly. "I just came back from paying my respects to Mother, and after talking to you for so long, I'm a little tired. I won't bother you any longer, little sister. You should rest here. I'll come see you again tomorrow."
"Yes." Ye Wanning gave a slight bow. "Please take care, Your Highness."
