Chapter 61 Finding a Way Out
The two fussed around in the cave for a while before snuggling together and falling asleep.
The next day, just as dawn was breaking, Ye Wanning, unable to resist the chill and waves of hunger in her stomach, finally woke up.
She opened her eyes to find herself wearing a robe, the fire beside her had gone out, and Su Wenzhen was nowhere to be seen. Ye Wanning was taken aback. "Wenzhen?"
Seeing that no one answered, Ye Wanning got up and walked towards the cave entrance.
As soon as she stepped out of the cave, she realized that it was still quite dark. She looked around and spotted a figure not far away. Ye Wanning paused for a moment, then cautiously walked towards the figure. "Wenzhen? Is that you?"
The figure didn't answer. Hearing a noise behind him, it paused for a moment, then immediately ran away.
Seeing that the figure did not turn around but instead ran away immediately, Ye Wanning's breath hitched and she stopped moving. If he ran away, then that person must not be Wen Zhen. If it wasn't Wen Zhen... who else was at the bottom of this cliff?
Could it be Li Zheng? Ye Wanning frowned, but he shouldn't have run away when he saw her! If it wasn't him, then… Thinking this, a chill ran down Ye Wanning's spine. Could it be… that there was someone else at the bottom of this cliff?
"Wife? What are you doing standing here?"
A male voice suddenly came from behind her, startling Ye Wanning. She turned around with some fear, only to find it was Su Wenzhen. She couldn't help but let out a long sigh of relief, "So it was you, you scared me to death."
"Who else could it be but me?" Su Wenzhen noticed Ye Wanning's slightly pale face and suddenly realized something. After a pause, he said, "After all this commotion, I figured you must be hungry. I went to find some food." As he spoke, he held up the fruit in his hand.
Seeing the abundant food in Su Wenzhen's hands, Ye Wanning had no other thoughts and smiled at Su Wenzhen, "You're really kind!"
Su Wenzhen chuckled, "You glutton." He nudged Ye Wanning with his elbow, "Let's go back to the cave and eat something first."
"Okay." Ye Wanning nodded and stepped into the cave.
Su Wenzhen glanced indifferently behind Ye Wanning, his eyes darkening. He had left in a hurry yesterday and forgot to deal with Li Zheng's body. When he went to check today, he found that his body was already gone.
Su Wenzhen's eyes were somewhat gloomy. He remembered that Li Zheng was definitely dead. If the body was missing, there was only one possibility. Su Wenzhen's heart sank. There were other people at the bottom of the cliff! He just didn't know who they were. Su Wenzhen frowned, hoping it wasn't an enemy.
Inside the cave, Ye Wanning sat quietly eating wild fruit beside Su Wenzhen. By this time, it was getting light, and the cave was becoming brighter.
Ye Wanning glanced at Su Wenzhen furtively. She wondered whether she should tell him about the figure she had just seen. Ye Wanning was a little nervous. She didn't know if he would believe her if she told him. If he didn't believe her, Ye Wanning gritted her teeth. She was afraid he would think she was seeing things!
Seeing Ye Wanning's changing expression, Su Wenzhen couldn't help but ask, "Wife, what's wrong? What are you thinking about?"
"Huh?" Ye Wanning snapped out of her daze and glanced at Su Wenzhen in a flustered manner. "No, it's nothing." As she spoke, she lowered her head. The current Wenzhen was not the same Wenzhen as before, so it was better to keep a low profile.
Seeing that Ye Wanning remained silent, Su Wenzhen suddenly felt a tightness in his chest. He put down the food in his hand, looked at Ye Wanning, and after a long while said, "After we've rested for a while, let's go out and see if there's a way out."
Ye Wanning nodded without speaking. For some reason, she felt that being with Su Wenzhen now was different from before… It felt natural and not strange at all…
After Ye Wanning finished eating, the two rested for a while before Su Wenzhen took Ye Wanning on their way.
Ye Wanning stared blankly at Su Wenzhen holding her hand. Su Wenzhen's fingers were long and beautiful, and the tips of his fingers holding her hand were slightly cool. Ye Wanning felt a tremor in her heart.
"what's on your mind?"
Ye Wanning snapped out of her daze and looked up, only to find that Su Wenzhen hadn't turned around. She frowned, wondering if she had misheard.
"I asked you what you're thinking about?" Seeing that Ye Wanning didn't answer, Su Wenzhen tightened his grip on her hand slightly. He turned to look at Ye Wanning, his eyes filled with gloom. "Why aren't you saying anything?"
"Huh?" Ye Wanning looked at him innocently. "I thought..." Ye Wanning blushed. "I thought I was hallucinating..."
Hearing this, Su Wenzhen was taken aback, then laughed, his eyes filled with tenderness as he looked at Ye Wanning, "Idiot."
"..." Ye Wanning looked at Su Wenzhen, her face growing increasingly red. After a long while, she stammered, "No...no...didn't we say we were going to find a way out? We're...we're not going yet, it'll get dark soon..."
Su Wenzhen smiled helplessly and turned around. "Then let's go quickly."
Seeing that Su Wenzhen had finally stopped looking at her, Ye Wanning breathed a long sigh of relief. She touched her burning cheeks with her other hand, wondering what was wrong with her, blushing so easily.
The two searched for a long time but still found no clues. After a while, they returned to the lake where they had fallen in before.
Ye Wanning sighed with a hint of resentment. She looked at Su Wenzhen, her tone somewhat dejected, "We've walked for so long and still haven't found anything, Wenzhen, do you think..." Ye Wanning bit her lip, "Is there really no way out here?"
Su Wenzhen glanced at the flowing lake water, suddenly noticed something, and after a pause, said, "No, this water is flowing water. If we follow this water..."
Before Su Wenzhen could finish speaking, Ye Wanning suddenly screamed from the side.
Su Wenzhen was startled and rushed over, afraid that something had happened to her. "What's wrong?"
Ye Wanning pointed to a pool of blood at her feet, her face turning deathly pale. "Blood...it's blood..."
Su Wenzhen followed Ye Wanning's finger and saw a pool of dried blood lying at her feet. Oh no! Su Wenzhen's heart tightened; he had forgotten about this place.

Su Wenzhen pretended to investigate and squatted down to look at the bloodstain. After a moment of silence, he said, "This bloodstain has been there for a long time. It's probably from when Li Zheng fell." He glanced at Ye Wanning and said, "Don't be afraid."
Ye Wanning bit her lip. Was it really true? She looked at Su Wenzhen and asked with some resentment, "How did you know it was him?"
Su Wenzhen was taken aback, then said, "There are only three of us at the bottom of this cliff, so who else could it be?"
"But..." Ye Wanning thought for a long time, gritted her teeth, and said, "When I came out of the cave to look for you just now, I saw someone. Judging from the back view, it wasn't Li Zheng!"
"Then why didn't you tell me when we were in the cave?" Su Wenzhen stood up, seemingly annoyed.

Without waiting for Ye Wanning's response, he started walking away alone.
Ye Wanning stood there, watching Su Wenzhen's departing figure, a sudden pang of pain shooting through her heart. He was angry, and the reason for his anger... was it because she... didn't trust her...?
Ye Wanning lowered her head sadly. It wasn't that she didn't want to, it's just...
"What are you standing there for? Come here!"
Su Wenzhen's gentle voice came to her ears again. Ye Wanning looked up and looked at him with some surprise.
"Come here quickly." Su Wenzhen waved to Ye Wanning.
Ye Wanning's eyes reddened. Wen Zhen... She smiled, her voice full of joy, "Okay, I'll be right there!"
