Chapter 82 Playing dumb
"Ugh..." Ye Wanning's face suddenly turned bright red. She stared at Su Wenzhen with wide eyes and a hint of panic, her hands flailing wildly in the air because there was no support.
"Don't move." Su Wenzhen chuckled, her voice slightly muffled but exceptionally alluring.
Su Wenzhen gently kissed Ye Wanning's lips. Seeing that Ye Wanning had half-closed her eyes because of shyness, he felt extremely sweet and his eyes curved into crescent moons with laughter.
The wooden window inside was half-closed, and it was early spring. Outside the window, the willow branches had sprouted new buds, and the willow branches seemed to have peeked into the room. As if their hearts were stirred by spring, they swayed gently, half-bewitching and half-seductive, with an unusually graceful posture.
Warm sunlight streamed through the window into the quiet study, where two people, as beautiful as jade, were entwined together; everything seemed exceptionally beautiful.
Su Wenzhen gently released Ye Wanning, looked up at her with a strange light in his eyes, paused, then hugged Ye Wanning again, leaning on her shoulder and panting heavily.
Ye Wanning was so frightened her heart almost jumped out of her chest. She felt the temperature around her rising rapidly. "Wen... Wen Zhen..."
"Don't speak." Su Wenzhen breathed heavily, seemingly trying her best to calm herself down.
After a long while, he softly called Ye Wanning's name, "Wanning..."
"What...what...what are you doing..." Ye Wanning felt her heart pounding. Her heart tightened, and her mind raced involuntarily. What...what is Su Wenzhen going to do...? Could it be...?
Ye Wanning swallowed hard, closing her eyes nervously. She wasn't ready! How could she!
Just as he was thinking this, there was a sudden knock on the door, "Your Highness."
Su Wenzhen stiffened, but he still held Ye Wanning tightly, showing no intention of letting go.
"Wenzhen..." Ye Wanning blushed and patted Su Wenzhen's back, "Outside..." She swallowed hard. How could she waste such a great opportunity? Ye Wanning felt her face was about to boil. She had to leave this place!
"I don't care," Su Wenzhen said in a muffled voice. After a brief silence, the knocking on the door started again.
“Wen…Wen Zhen…” Ye Wanning shifted uncomfortably. “You…you should go and see him. It might be something important…”
Su Wenzhen didn't reply. After a while, he sighed and slowly released Ye Wanning. "Come in."
Upon entering the study, Jiang Hai noticed Ye Wan Ning's flushed face and immediately understood what was happening. He bowed his head and said, "Your Highness."
Seeing Jiang Hai's little actions, Ye Wanning felt extremely embarrassed. She bit her lip, lowered her head, and refused to look at Su Wenzhen. "You two talk, I'll go down first."
Seeing Ye Wanning's embarrassed state, Su Wenzhen couldn't help but chuckle. He smiled and said, "Go ahead."
Jiang Hai glanced at Ye Wanning, whose back looked unusually flustered, then turned around and bowed to Su Wenzhen, "Your Highness."
"What is it?" Su Wenzhen picked up the teacup beside him; he was in an exceptionally good mood.
"General Wen requests your presence for a moment."
Su Wenzhen paused, looked up at Jiang Hai, and asked uncertainly, "You mean, General Wen?"
"yes."
As Ye Wanning left the study, she slapped her face in annoyance. Damn it, she'd been taken advantage of! Just as she was cursing Su Wenzhen, that fox, she suddenly heard someone calling her.
"princess?"
Ye Wanning was startled and turned around to find Butler Li standing behind her. Ye Wanning coughed awkwardly twice, then glanced at Butler Li after a moment and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Your Highness, why is your face so red..." Butler Li looked at Ye Wanning and said with some surprise, "Is it a cold..."
"Mind your own business!" Ye Wanning was already embarrassed in the study, and now she was being ridiculed outside. She couldn't help but get annoyed, but the butler Li didn't know... Ye Wanning bit her lip and looked up to see that the butler Li was holding a tray that seemed to be filled with tea.
Ye Wanning was taken aback, pointing at the plate and looking at Butler Li with some confusion, "What is this?"
"General Wen just sent someone to visit the Prince's residence." Steward Li paused. "This is tea for the Prince. Guard Jiang just asked me to brew the tea and send it over to the Prince."
"Oh?" Ye Wanning raised an eyebrow. Was this tea for Su Wenzhen? As if she had thought of something, Ye Wanning smiled and turned to Butler Li with a smile, "Butler Li, how about I take this tea over for you?"
Although Ye Wanning was smiling, her expression was sinister. Butler Li felt a chill run down his spine and looked at Ye Wanning uneasily, "Your Highness, what's wrong with you...?"
"What, you don't believe me?" Ye Wanning snatched the tray from Butler Li's hands and looked at him. "What? Are you afraid I'll poison your prince?"
"Your Highness... that's not what I meant..." Butler Li looked at Ye Wanning with a bitter face and some helplessness. "How could you possibly harm the Prince?" As he spoke, Butler Li waved his hand helplessly. "If you want to go, then go. I'm just afraid of tiring you out."
"Alright, alright!" Ye Wanning said with a smile to Butler Li, "I was just joking." As she spoke, as if she had thought of something happy, Ye Wanning grinned foolishly, "Alright, I'll take it to the study now, you can go down now."
Seeing Ye Wanning's expression, Butler Li dared not answer "no." He shook his head and said, "This old servant understands." With that, he sighed and retreated, hoping the princess would go easy on him…
Seeing that Butler Li had left, Ye Wanning stuck out her tongue, glanced around quietly, and then ran back to her room.
"Cui'er, Cui'er!" Ye Wanning called out as soon as they arrived in the courtyard, "Come out quickly!"
"Huh?" Hearing someone call her, Cui'er quickly came out from the inner room, only to see Ye Wanning rummaging through drawers and cabinets looking for something. "Sister, what are you looking for?" Cui'er leaned closer, looking at Ye Wanning with some confusion. "Tell me, and I'll help you find it."
Ye Wanning stopped what she was doing, looked up at Cui'er who was panting heavily, and asked, "Do you still have the things I asked you to collect a few days ago?"
Cui'er was taken aback, looking at Ye Wanning with some confusion, "Huh? What did you say, sister?"
"It's just..." Ye Wanning smiled mysteriously, "...dried lotus seed hearts!"
"Sister, sister!" Cui'er blocked Ye Wanning's path, her expression grim. She stared at the teapot in Ye Wanning's hand and said with a hint of resentment, "Are you really going to send this tea to the Prince...?"
"What's wrong?" Ye Wanning raised an eyebrow. "This is a good thing."
“But…” Cui’er looked at Ye Wanning with some hesitation, “This is something only common people drink…”
"Who are they?" Ye Wanning squinted, then reached out her right hand and poked Cui'er's forehead. "I didn't expect you to have class discrimination! We're all human, why can't he drink what others can drink!"
"No, no!" Hearing this, Cui'er waved her hands repeatedly to explain, "That's not what I meant." Cui'er bit her lip in annoyance, "I'm just a servant, how could there be discrimination..." She paused, somewhat afraid to look at Ye Wanning, "I was afraid that the Prince wouldn't be used to it..."
"You have to drink it even if you don't like it!" Ye Wanning raised an eyebrow and chuckled, then walked out.
“Sister…” Cui’er stood behind Ye Wanning, pointing to a pot of tea on the table and calling out, “What should we do with this pot of tea?”
Ye Wanning waved her hand, "The tea is fragrant and delicious! We'll keep it for ourselves!" After saying that, she left without looking back.
Cui'er looked miserable. It seemed that her young lady wouldn't have a moment's peace unless she caused trouble!
Just as they arrived at the study door, the guard was about to announce their arrival when Ye Wanning raised her hand, signaling him to be quiet.
She quietly walked to the door and gently pushed it open a crack. Su Wenzhen was talking to Jiang Hai about something, it seemed to be General Wen? Ye Wanning shook her head. She didn't understand these things, but she didn't care. Her goal was to give him a surprise later. Thinking of Su Wenzhen's frightened appearance, Ye Wanning couldn't help but cover her mouth and chuckle.
She was ready and about to jump out when she heard a sound coming from inside the house.
"You mean, General Wen probably already knows about my past feigned ignorance?"
Ye Wanning froze, her body stiffening, her movements halting. The tray she was holding slipped from her grasp and fell, the teapot hitting the ground with a loud thud. What did this mean? Playing dumb…?
