Applejack

Applejack

The next morning, they got up early, shaved in front of a small mirror, and set off earlier than any other visitor.

It was his first visit and he couldn't go empty-handed. Since he was going to make a cake, Jin Nan had already made up his mind last night: first, he would go buy some fruit, the freshest ones from the morning market. Then he would go to the chocolate shop he often bought from to get some to take away.

Xu Zhiyuan had previously found it difficult to associate Jinnan with the word "living." The environment had placed him too high, forcing him to distance himself from the crowd.

Time gradually erased the traces of his growth, and only Jinnan himself remembered how fulfilling his days were when he supported himself. Time had passed so long that it had diluted the bitterness.

Jinnan's pretty face actually doesn't fit in with the morning market, but Xu Zhiyuan, who is sweet-mouthed and knowledgeable, and carries things with a dull face, becomes the odd one out.

"Mulberries are on so early?"

"Let's buy some more mangoes."

"Would you like some strawberries?"

Xu Zhiyuan was just responsible for nodding.

Jinnan didn't compete with him for the business, and when he had almost finished buying, he returned to the car. This time he drove.

"Actually, I'm not very good at making desserts. I didn't have the conditions before, and now I've lost the interest." Jin Nan said, "Can you try some? From now on, I'll leave the baking to you."

"I'm a trash can?" Xu Zhiyuan joked.

Jin Nan thought for a moment and said, "Or maybe we can get a large dog. I'll make two and you can each have half. Yunting's yard will be a good place for it to run around, and it'll make the house more lively. To be honest, I want to hire part-time workers. From now on... it will usually just be the two of us."

What is life? Jinnan knows more than him.

"Okay." Xu Zhiyuan didn't object.

"Or maybe we should live in Dongzhang?" Jin Nan put his arm on the car window and opened it a crack. "Dijingyuan is also good. Buy a high-rise apartment. The big windows are right outside the Lido Center. We can go home every day, have a little drink, do that in the big living room, and then take a bath together."

"Which one?" Xu Zhiyuan asked deliberately.

Jinnan glared at him with a red face.

There's no way around it, Jinnan is just like that, he looks gorgeous but plays innocently. He says all kinds of sweet and sour things, but when it comes to real action, he's the first to be a wimp.

Be afraid or think about it, and treat each matter separately.

Xu Zhiyuan didn't force him, and they only tried briefly each time, not rushing to the end. In fact, Xu Zhiyuan was also surprised, because the atmosphere was always good, and Jinnan was not unwilling. Later, he bought several boxes of condoms to keep as a backup, but Jinnan still let go when he was comfortable.

Very unprofessional.

The topic became awkward. Jin Nan couldn't really answer, but he couldn't stand the cold silence.

When the car passed the intersection and stopped at the waiting area, he said, "Xu Zhiyuan, let me ask, I'll ask."

"you say."

"Are you the one on top or the one on the bottom? If you've never done it before, I looked it up online and it seems to be more comfortable on the bottom. Do you want to try it?"

Xu Zhiyuan:?

Xu Zhiyuan's expression meant only one thing: What bullshit are you talking about.

He was choked by Jinnan, and he didn't know whether to agree or refute. After a long while, he managed to say, "Thank you."

Jinnan: “You’re welcome.”

The red light turned green, and amid the sound of traffic, Xu Zhiyuan looked out the window. Both of them were stewing in a pot of scorching air.

"Is this the reason you've been rejecting me these days?" Xu Zhiyuan asked.

Jinnan:?

"How could I reject you?" Jin Nan felt very wronged.

"Yeah, I didn't refuse." Xu Zhiyuan said, "You squeezed your legs together after just two touches, and pushed me away every time."

Jinnan: "Okay, stop talking."

Why is the car so difficult to drive? Jinnan even complained about the feel of the steering wheel.

Xu Zhiyuan smiled, his tone much lighter than usual: "Next time, can you clear your mind? Leave everything to me."

Jin Nan was still annoyed and immediately retorted: "You are good at it?"

"No." Xu Zhiyuan said, "But I have learned."

Jinnan touched his ears, gave up on himself and closed the car window to let in the cold air. The world suddenly became much quieter.

"When did you learn this?" Jin Nan asked in a low voice.

Xu Zhiyuan didn't hide it: "Two days ago, emergency tutoring."

Jinnan swallowed his saliva and said, "So, how are you doing with your studies?"

"Not much, just enough to get on with the job."

"Then... then let's try it tonight?"

"Are you not afraid anymore?"

Xu Zhiyuan's eyes and brows aren't actually very gentle when he smiles. He has a naturally serious face and the aura of a superior, so at first glance he looks a few years older than his peers.

The little bear sweatshirt he was wearing offset this very well.

"I wasn't afraid in the first place," Jinnan said. "Why should we discuss something like this? Aren't people just drawn to each other and go back home right away?"

Xu Zhiyuan: "... Stop playing with Lin Jiaze."

Jinnan:?

"Why?"

Around Jinnan, the only one who talks nonsense and abuses words is Lin Jiaze.

"We were supposed to discuss this," Xu Zhiyuan said. "In fact, I've also thought about giving you an H5 questionnaire to get a feel for your preferences."

"Would you like to ask my name?" Jin Nan was speechless for a moment. "Are we that unfamiliar?"

He took a quick glance during the few seconds it took to turn the turn signal and saw Xu Zhiyuan laughing. It was obvious that his words were meant to tease him.

"Xu Zhiyuan, you've become a bad person."

Xu Zhiyuan just smiled.

It was still early when the car arrived at the chocolate workshop. The owner had only half opened the door. Seeing Jin Nanshi, he recognized his face and warmly invited him in. Xu Zhiyuan followed behind, observing and quietly writing down the address.

While they were chatting, the owner brought two cups of hot cocoa, which they drank as breakfast while sitting at the table. While Jinnan went with the owner to pick out chocolates, Xu Zhiyuan quietly went next door to buy a bouquet of flowers. Jinnan only saw it in the rearview mirror when they returned to the car.

"Who's giving Applejack to a friend?" Jin Nan said as he buckled his seatbelt. "Do they have lilies and tulips in the store? I just saw them."

"Yes, this is for you." Xu Zhiyuan said, "A first date always requires a bouquet of flowers."

Jin Nan was stunned for a moment and was about to rush out of the car. Xu Zhiyuan called him but he didn't stop. He sat in the car and waited for a long time. Jin Nan came back with a small bunch of flowers. Without saying a word, he opened the passenger seat and stuffed it into Xu Zhiyuan's hand.

White Gardenia and Black Knight, Xu Zhiyuan's hands clenching them, looked like an undetailed corner of an artistic photo. Jinnan looked at them for a moment, then nodded in satisfaction.

"Xu Zhiyuan, this is called sneaking around with your classmates, you know? You're going to be isolated during your school days." Jinnan clung to the car door. "I'll be magnanimous and let it go, but don't do it again next time."

"I'll dare to do it again next time." Xu Zhiyuan said.

Jinnan was both angry and amused.

Chen Chen's girlfriend, Bai Yi, is a pastry chef. She started selling handmade desserts in college and has already saved enough to open a shop. She has a clean, fresh look and a more shy personality than Chen Chen.

Jinnan and his friends were the first to arrive, their sleeves rolled up as they rushed to help in the kitchen. Chen Chen was so frightened that he hurried over to try and persuade them, but to no avail. The young masters were kneading the dough like they were playing with playdough. Soon, Lin Jiaze also arrived, turning the kitchen into a complete battlefield.

In the end, Miss Bai had to take out the butter cookies she baked yesterday as bait to successfully send the few people who were making things worse out of the kitchen.

Chen Chen was terrified at first, but then he burst into laughter and joined in the chaos. It was two hours past lunchtime when the cake came out of the oven, and Li Hong had just arrived late, carrying two large bags.

"A giant lobster just returned from the ship this morning! And a free-range chicken, too. It took a three-hour drive here early this morning. It's grown from an eggshell to this size without a single bite of food!"

Bai Yi was good at making desserts, but he had no idea how to prepare seafood. Chen Chen wasn't an expert either, and the other young masters couldn't be relied upon. Finally, Jin Nan entered the kitchen with the recipe, sending away Xu Zhiyuan, who had followed in to help.

When a pile of lobster vermicelli came out, Lin Jiaze was still laughing at Xu Zhiyuan's black bear sweatshirt.

"Brother Xu, this piece of clothing belongs to Jinnan, right? I thought your closet was full of suit jackets. Look at this little bear, does it look like Jinnan?"

Li Hongfang threw a spoonful over and said, "Eat the cake. Even the cream can't fill your mouth."

"The food is here, make some room!"

Jin Nan shouted to put the dishes down, and Chen Chen immediately helped to make room. Seeing that there were still a few plates in the kitchen, he hurried to take them away.

Bai Yigang and Jinnan had been making cakes together, and they had already developed a bit of a revolutionary friendship. Seeing Jinnan coming, he called out, "Nannan, sit down and eat. We'll bring the dishes. The cake is already cut for you!"

Jin Nan didn't hesitate, took off his apron and sat next to Xu Zhiyuan. He secretly peeked into Xu Zhiyuan's plate and saw one of the strawberries they bought that morning sticking out in front of Xu Zhiyuan.

Jinnan didn't think that little bear looked like him at all. But he was also curious about when Xu Zhiyuan had bought it. It was so cute, it didn't look like his style at all.

But before he could ask, the topic quickly turned away from the bear sweatshirt.

"Calm? That was all Chen Chen pretending. But the day we got out, he dragged me around the house and kangaroo-jumped all night, and didn't fall asleep until after 3 a.m. He cried and laughed with me, and in the end, he said he still couldn't bear to leave his parents."

Bai Yi carefully recalled and vividly described Chen Chen's past.

"Becoming a millionaire overnight!" Lin Jiaze yelled. "If you do that, my entire garage will be yours. Let me tell you, a Ferrari, a McLaren, a Porsche, two Aston Martins, one of which is an AMR Pro! Aren't you tempted at all?"

Lin Jiaze was so excited that he seemed to really hope that someone would trade with him, but in fact he was just surprised that someone was not interested in his garage full of treasures at all!

"Uh, that." Chen Chen raised his hand weakly, "I can't drive a manual transmission. I heard that all sports cars are manual transmission."

Lin Jiaze: ...

"It's useless." Lin Jiaze muttered, "I'll teach you next time."

He was stunned after saying this. Lin Jiaze had already made up his mind to leave the Lin family. He could survive by running that small company. The glamorous life had nothing to do with him anymore. The 911, Senna, Vantage, and Valkyrie were completely irrelevant to him.

"If you get tired of driving a sports car, this brother has a Hummer, and this brother has a G-Class." Jinnan pointed at Li Hongfang and Xu Zhiyuan, only trying to stir up trouble. "Just don't drive into the mud pit."

Lin Jiaze frowned: "How can you talk to the Lido Car God?"

"It's not like I haven't fallen into a ditch before," Li Hongfang said. "Xiao Chen, don't follow his example in the future. You should drive more carefully, okay?"

Chen Chen: "Okay, Brother Li."

The fact is that I can't afford a car for the time being.

Everyone was busy in the evening. Chen Chen sent the big Buddhas to the car one by one. Bai Yi waved goodbye to the last Maybach. After the car turned the corner and disappeared, he whispered to Chen Chen: "I feel like there's something wrong between Nan Nan and his brother."

Chen Chen was puzzled: "Something's wrong? They are very nice people."

"No, I mean between them. You have to trust a woman's intuition." Bai Yi whispered, "They have different surnames, so they shouldn't be brothers, right?"

For most of the day, Xu Zhiyuan was almost always present wherever Jinnan was. Xu Zhiyuan was quiet, responding only briefly to Jinnan's questions. Apart from Jinnan, no one else could engage in a lively, engaging conversation with Xu Zhiyuan.

They could be called brothers, but... they were just too close. This closeness was simply an unconscious habit. Lin Jiaze and Li Hongfang might not have noticed, but those of them who had experienced it saw it immediately.

Chen Chen pondered the past and recalled the past, then suddenly he thought, "Oh shit."

"Shh!" Bai Yi covered his mouth, "Just pretend you don't know, you don't know!"

The two of them covered each other's mouths, like two badger dogs that had eaten a big melon.
