Final Chapter

Final Chapter

It was snowing a little when they left. Xu Zhiyuan was in a low mood and was sent to the passenger seat by Jinnan, where he used the teddy bear pillow that Jinnan had just bought as a cushion.

There were few vehicles on the mountain road, and Jinnan drove very slowly. He always had a way of maintaining a cheerful appearance in a heavy atmosphere.

He and Xu Zhiyuan chatted incessantly, talking about their past and their future.

"I asked my assistant to get your passport. You didn't even know where you put it. Xiao Chen searched through boxes and drawers for two days before he found it."

"Want to go shopping for some spring clothes? I saw Lin Jiaze asking about buying baby clothes for his nephew the other day. You don't even know, but the Lin and Chen families had a meeting to decide which surname Chen Chen's son would take. Guess which one was finally decided?"

Xu Zhiyuan: "White?"

Jinnan snorted twice: "You guessed it right."

Chen Chen and pastry chef Miss Bai Yi got married in the fall when she was pregnant. Jin Nan and Xu Zhiyuan gave a lot of gifts when they attended the wedding.

"Is Jia Ze still single?" Xu Zhiyuan asked.

"What girl could stand his stubborn temper?" Jin Nan chuckled. "To be honest, I used to think Li Hongfang liked him, but I don't know what Li Hongfang was thinking. Now he's chasing Ke Zhuo."

Xu Zhiyuan glanced at Jinnan in the rearview mirror and said sarcastically, "I think Li Hongfang likes you more."

"How could that be possible? I'm simple, kind and well-behaved, and I don't get along with that old-fashioned guy." Jin Nan joked, glancing at Xu Zhiyuan's expression through the gap in the rearview mirror, and met Xu Zhiyuan's helpless smiling eyes.

"Are you jealous?" Jin Nan asked tentatively.

Unexpectedly, Xu Zhiyuan nodded generously and repeated: "Yes, I am jealous."

Jin Nan was so happy that he wanted to roll around, but he felt it was not right. He tried to be reserved for a long time, but he couldn't hide the smile on his face: "Are you really jealous? Well, I was wrong, I won't do it again."

A year later, Jinnan has also changed. He is not very romantic, but he is quick to admit his mistakes.

Xu Zhiyuan looked at Jinnan's eyes that were trying to pretend to be pitiful. A little bit of warm light from the street lamp was reflected in his eyes, and the bright light outlined a unclear mark around him.

He thought of the countless nights they had spent together in the past, and the melancholy that had lingered in his heart mostly dissipated.

No matter how long, no matter when, Jin Nan was always there. Without even realizing it, Xu Zhiyuan had become synonymous with his sense of security.

All because Jin Nan loves him. Loves him very, very much.

They are equally sensitive and twisted, and they are so similar that they can often guess each other's thoughts.

Jinnan was more willful, more reckless and impulsive than him, more lovable and more lively. Xu Zhiyuan always thought he loved her more.

How heartless is Jin Nan? There are so many beautiful women around him, but he is still a playboy, flirting with them everywhere.

There are also some that belong exclusively to Xu Zhiyuan.

"I froze some pudding when I left home this morning. Remember to eat it when you get home." Jin Nan made small talk, driving carefully while studying his expression.

"Mr. Xu, could you please be so magnanimous as to forgive me for once? I'll give you my pudding as an apology."

The naughty, cute, and unreasonable Jinnan.

Jinnan suddenly realized that Xu Zhiyuan's gaze at him was extremely passionate, as if he was touched by some words. He seemed to want to say something but couldn't find a word.

"You like pudding so much?" Jin Nan's tone became depressed. "Well, I'll give it to you. I finally succeeded in making it..."

"Konan."

Jinnan stared at the road ahead and tilted his head: "Hmm?"

"Before you go back to the company, can you accompany me somewhere first?" Xu Zhiyuan said, "I have to go. I'm ready."

He said this in a tone as solemn as if he were giving his final verdict for the rest of his life. Jinnan tightened his grip on the steering wheel and spoke after a long pause, "That's not what I thought it meant, is it?"

"Yes." Xu Zhiyuan said firmly.

Jinnan: "Dress, cake...ring?"

Xu Zhiyuan: “Both.”

"I..." Jinnan quickly retracted a curse word.

Xu Zhiyuan frowned, his expression hurt. "You don't want to? Don't you want to marry me?"

Jinnan rubbed his temples and smiled like he was crying: "Why don't you inform me, the person involved, first? I'm ready too."

Xu Zhiyuan:?

Jin Nan: "I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to get a ticket right before the deadline, I bought a first-class ticket. I..."

He was a little mad. He had finally prepared a surprise, but God knew how difficult it was to secretly prepare all of this while being locked up at Xu Zhiyuan's house. Jinnan had been hiding here and there like a cat playing with a mouse every day, and now, he had forgotten to notify the person involved.

"Then what should I do?" Jin Nan was very distressed. Things were secondary. The main thing was that he wanted to give Xu Zhiyuan a surprise, and Xu Zhiyuan would definitely be happy.

Xu Zhiyuan thought the same thing as him.

Cars streamed onto the city streets, lights flooding into view. Jinnan, on his way home, preoccupied with something, got stuck at a red light.

His mood flickered like a traffic light on the side of the road.

He couldn't bear to give up anyone, and there was no first come first served distinction in this kind of thing. Did they get married twice?

It doesn’t seem to be impossible.

Jinnan turned his head to talk to Xu Zhiyuan, and saw that Xu Zhiyuan's eyes were following him with a smile in his eyes.

Jinnan: “Are you laughing at me?”

Xu Zhiyuan's eyes narrowed even further, but he said, "I wouldn't dare."

With over a hundred seconds left on the red light, Jin Nan leaned over to bother him, intending to tickle him, but he was grabbed by the arm first and a kiss stolen from him.

"Xu Zhiyuan."

"Um."

"Can we get married twice?"

In fact, the marriage certificate issued by others has no legal effect on them, but it doesn’t matter.

Jinnan just wants Xu Zhiyuan's approval.

Mr. Xu, who was always serious, winked suggestively and said to him, "It's okay to do it a hundred times."

In early spring in Manchester, the grass outside Namya Church is covered with a layer of fresh green.

When Lin Jiaze, who was escorting the wedding cake, got out of the car, he saw Li Hongfang wearing sunglasses and standing in front of the door, acting coolly as a door god.

There were few guests and staff. Outside the crowd, a flower path meandered from the white tower of the church to the sea cliff. The morning light sprinkled on the sparkling sea. Two people, one black and one white, sat on the edge of the cliff, acting as hands-off managers.

"They two seem to have nothing to do." Lin Jiaze was angry and was about to pick a fight when several bodyguards in black came over, called out "Young Master Lin", and came to take the cake from the car.

Lin Jiaze opened the trunk and said to the bodyguard, "Your boss owes me a lot of money. How much is he going to pay for running errands?"

The bodyguard said solemnly, his face wooden. "Mr. Jin has instructed that when you arrive, please help greet the guests. They are all people you know."

Li Hongfang scoffed, and Lin Jiaze was furious: "They're trying to make me a laborer!"

"After this is over, you can choose the reward." The man in black said again.

Lin Jiaze's expression changed in an instant: "That's right, I said they are not stingy people."

The young couple who were supposed to be welcoming the guests had already walked a long way down the path. The guests they had invited were all friends, and almost all of the most important relatives on both sides were gone. Grandpa and grandma had gone to see them before they left the country, and Jinnan even received a gift from his grandson's wife.

The old couple saw how hard Xu Zhiyuan had been through these years. They might not support him much, but they would not stop him either.

They held hands, and after many years, the sea breeze blew on their cheeks again.

"Let's move to a smaller house when we get home. Butler Guo will stay in Yunting to look after us, and the other aunties will only come... once a week?"

Xu Zhiyuan had no objection.

They had lived together in a very small house, squeezed into Xu Zhiyuan's tiny single bed, listened to the dripping rain in Liancheng on nights, and on snowy winter nights without a fireplace, they had served as each other's source of heat.

Time flies, and we have known each other for nearly ten years.

When Xu Zhiyuan met Jinnan for the first time, he would never have imagined that they would be living this kind of life and have such a relationship.

Jin Nan was wearing a white dress, and the hairstyle she had carefully planned out early in the morning was blown messy by the sea breeze. Her eyebrows and eyes, which were already beautiful and almost sharp, were now much softer, and she looked at Xu Zhiyuan gently.

This is what you get.

They walked a long way until the phone rang, and then they remembered to return. The coolie Lin Jiaze had even forgotten to remove the phone card.

"You two! Everyone's here, but where are you? I can't even get through on the phone!" Lin Jiaze roared, "If you don't come back, I'll go upstairs and kill you!"

Jinnan: "Who are you marrying?"

"Who do you care who I am with? Come back quickly! If you are any later, I will find someone to deal with you."

Jinnan laughed heartily, while Lin Jiaze cursed. Xu Zhiyuan took his hand and walked down the grassy slope. Their friends had already gathered in front of the church, laughing and jokingly congratulating them and waving to the newlyweds.

Having memorized the oath early in the morning, Jin Nan took the lead in taking out the ring he had hidden in his bulging pocket.

According to their agreement, each of them would have their own wedding. Today was Jin Nan's home court, and Xu Zhiyuan wouldn't fight with Jin Nan for the vows, the ring... anything.

The sea breeze blew Xu Zhiyuan's hair into a slicked-back mess. He stood there obediently, waiting for Jinnan's instructions. Yesterday, for this ring, he had rubbed his left hand until it glistened.

Jinnan held Xu Zhiyuan's hand and recited the oath. He was still smiling at first, but later his throat was choked with pain and he could not speak a complete sentence.

Xu Zhiyuan continued to wait. He was already used to it. With happiness just one step away, he was more patient than ever.

Jin Nan put the ring on Xu Zhiyuan with red eyes, and tears fell first, landing on Xu Zhiyuan's knuckles.

As long as two people love each other, everything else becomes simple.

"I, Jinnan, am willing to accept Xu Zhiyuan as my other half. From now on, no matter good times or bad, rich or poor, sick or healthy..."

I cried and forgot the lyrics.

Xu Zhiyuan smiled and lowered his head, putting his cheek close to his. "Xiao Nan, come on, there are so many people watching us."

Jinnan struggled to finish speaking the words that he had already memorized. In fact, many of them were not memorized by him, but were prepared in his mind in the morning to tell Xu Zhiyuan.

"From the first day we met, you have always been the one saving me. I always wondered if I deserved this luck, but now I feel that no matter luck or misfortune, I must be by your side.

"I want to watch you and spend a long and wonderful life with you, until we are both old, so old that you may not even remember me.

"I want to say to you: Xu Zhiyuan, I love you."

"Will you spend your life with me?"

Xu Zhiyuan took his hand and put on the ring that belonged to Jinnan without any mistake. Jinnan also saw tears in his eyes.

"Lucky me, Konan."

"I, Xu Zhiyuan, am willing to accept Jinnan as my significant other. From now on, no matter good times or bad, rich or poor, sick or healthy, we will take care of each other and go through it together until death... I hope that even death cannot separate us."

Fireworks exploded, and the Atlantic breeze blew across the lovers' cheeks, blowing all the way south.

Go to the spring land where the snow has not melted, go to the harbor where fireworks are blooming, catch the tears that are about to fall, and send them home.
