Chapter 58 Surrounded by a Shura Field, they seem to be on the verge of splitting apart! ...
Not only Gin, but everyone in the organization, including Chinatsu, turned their attention to that woman the moment she appeared.
“Curaçao,” Chizuru Takanashi murmured.
“Who?” Ray asked.
Chinatsu Takanashi immediately explained, "Curaçao, she's one of Rum's people, but she rarely shows up at the base."
"Why?"
"Afraid that the organization's secrets would be stolen."
Upon hearing this, all three undercover agents immediately focused their attention on Chinatsu Takanashi.
Chinatsuko Takanashi, oblivious to this, only sensed that Ray would be interested in her, so she explained, "Curaçao has a photographic memory and knows many of the organization's secrets. She couldn't be brainwashed several times. She was originally supposed to be executed a couple of years ago, but Rum took her away. She's like a supercomputer storing the organization's secrets. Whoever can capture her will have access to most of the organization's secrets."
Scotland and Bourbon exchanged a quick glance.
Lei smiled with interest.
"Something's wrong," Takanashi Chika muttered to herself, also warning Rai not to be easily fooled.
Capturing Curaçao would certainly be helpful to Ray's undercover work, but why did Rum suddenly release her? Although a group of undercover agents were recently eliminated, it doesn't mean there aren't other undercover agents in the organization. In any case, Curaçao's appearance would be very dangerous.
Fishing was the only thing Chizuru could think of.
She looked around. Could there be other spies from different organizations nearby? Who could they be?
After exchanging only a few words with Gin, Curaçao walked straight toward Chinatsu Kotori.
Curaçao's eyes are uniquely heterochromatic; her left eye is a deep blue like the sky, while her right eye is colorless and transparent, creating an asymmetrical beauty. Her gaze is empty and cold, a coldness unlike Gin's icy chill; it's a hollow, detached coolness, devoid of anything.
As she drew closer, Takanashi Chika's heart pounded with each step.
It's her!
Takanashi Chinatsu suddenly realized that Curaçao's target was her, so the undercover agent she needed to catch was—Ray.
Without looking away or glancing at Lei, and despite growing increasingly nervous, Takanashi Chika's lips slowly curved upwards.
At that moment, her body, which was sore from stretching, seemed to lose all sensation in tension, yet she moved with unusual agility, lunging forward and tightly hugging Curaçao's neck.
"Curaçao, long time no see!" she said warmly, nuzzling her shoulder affectionately with her head.
Curaçao froze, took a small step back but worried that Takanashi Chinatsu would fall, so she stood rooted to the spot.
"Long time no see, Black Cherry." Curaçao's tone was gentler than when she spoke to others.
Takanashi Chika sighed softly to herself.
In fact, she was not familiar with Curaçao. Unlike Miyano Akemi, Curaçao was a secret weapon belonging exclusively to the organization. The master would only use Curaçao for the development of the organization and would never give her a playmate.
In total, they had only met twice.
When they first met, she had just been brought into the organization. In a magnificent manor, Curaçao stood at the entrance of the hall, staring blankly at the sky.
At that time, Curaçao's hair was still short and neat. Takanashi Chinatsu followed Gin in and out, but Curaçao didn't say a word to them.
After that, the house was given to China by the man, and Curaçao was forced to move out. At that time, she did not know that Curaçao was the organization's secret weapon. She only felt that the organization had inhumanely occupied the poor orphan's house and thrown the mentally challenged orphan out.
She was frantic and tried to stop him, tried to keep Curaçao.
But all her resistance was seen by Karasuma Renya as a kitten playing around chasing feathers, cute and ridiculous.
She then secretly handed the card Gin had given her to Curaçao and whispered the PIN to her, watching helplessly as Curaçao was taken away.
On their second meeting, Curaçao was following behind Rum.
At that time, Takanashi Chinatsu already knew her identity and that she had almost been executed not long ago. Although she was unhappy with Rum, she had to admit that Rum had indeed done a good thing.
However, at that time her relationship with Rum was very strained, and the two only glanced at each other briefly before parting ways.
Now, Curaçao is approaching her, but only to go fishing.
She doesn't resent Curaçao, really.
Curaçao knows nothing. Because of her special mind, she has been brainwashed countless times since childhood. She has no opinions of her own and cannot distinguish between right and wrong, good and evil. She is like a puppet being used by the organization.
Her coming to fish was undoubtedly on Rum's orders.
Rum Denver, why isn't he dead yet?!
"Curaçao, have you finally escaped this hell and run away from Rum Old Den?" Takanashi Chinatsu shouted, grabbing Curaçao's hand.
Everyone around heard it, but no one dared to cause her any trouble. Rum's faction even looked away as if they hadn't heard anything.
To Takanashi Chika's surprise, Curaçao nodded and said, "The master said it would be convenient for me to follow you since I'm a girl, so he assigned me to you."
"Really?" Takanashi Chinatsu hugged Curaçao even tighter, her voice full of joy.
She jumped off the bench, grabbed Curaçao, and ran off, calling to her three subordinates, "You guys stop Gin, I'm skipping training this afternoon, we're going shopping!"
The sound carried far, and veins bulged on Gin's forehead.
Bourbon, Scotland, and Ray exchanged a glance and resigned themselves to their fate by stepping forward to stop Gin, lest he get impatient and actually bring the man back.
Takanashi Chinatsu not only brought along Curaçao, but also called Miyano Akemi. The three girls went shopping hand in hand and bought more than a dozen outfits.
Summer clothes are thin, yet Curaçao carried more than a dozen sets in one hand without showing any signs of fatigue.
"Qianna." Miyano Akemi winked at Qianna.
Takanashi Chinatsu immediately understood, and she and Miyano Akemi each took the things that Curaçao was carrying from her hands, and then shoved Curaçao to choose them.
"Kuku, you haven't picked out any clothes yet, hurry up and choose some!"
Curaçao's expression was somewhat blank. "I..."
"Hurry up and choose! Now that we're out here, we should definitely buy some pretty clothes!"
Akemi Miyano chimed in, "That's right, Miss Ku, please pick out an outfit you like."
Curaçao stared blankly at the dazzling array of women's clothing, seemingly petrified, showing no intention of picking anything out.
Chinatsuka Takanashi put down what she was carrying, pulled Curacao up and down for a once-over, and waved her hand, saying, "Black and white clothes are so dull! Do you think you're a corporate slave? People our age should be more cheerful!"
Her eyes searched around, and suddenly she pointed to a dress not far away and said, "That one, the fishtail dress, the pale yellow one!"
Curaçao looked dazed, barely moving as Takanashi Chika pushed her. She walked over and took the clothes Takanashi Chika handed her, and was then forcibly pushed into the fitting room.
Chika Takanashi waited quietly outside, secretly plotting her own scheme.
Since Curaçao came fishing, and she neither wanted to catch any fish nor be hostile to Curaçao, she decided to just play along with her.
Play it all the time, and keep playing it all the time.
Anyway, she had already warned Lai that Lai was cautious and wouldn't be so easily fooled. Once Rum had played around for a while and found that there was no movement here, he would transfer Curaçao away.
Anyway, she loves to have fun, so what's wrong with dragging Curaçao along? Nobody will doubt her.
Shortly after, the fitting room door opened.
Curaçao came out wearing a brand new fishtail dress.
The pale yellow is a deeper shade than beige, unlike the elegant and well-behaved demeanor of a young lady; yet it is lighter than golden yellow, so it won't appear too flashy or garish. It makes anyone who wears it look charming and cute, and even the expressionless Curaçao looks more lively in it.
"This is beautiful, Akemi, don't you think?" Takanashi Chinatsu's eyes lit up, and she immediately called Akemi over to take a look.
Miyano Akemi smiled and nodded, praising, "Miss Ku has a great figure, and Chinatsu has excellent taste. This outfit suits you very well."
Curaçao stared blankly at herself in the mirror. Compared to her usual lifeless appearance, her current attire was so vibrant that it startled even herself.
“It’s missing a little embellishment.” Takanashi Chinatsu said, holding up a pendant in both hands to show her. It was a beautiful sapphire pendant that she had chosen while Curaçao was changing clothes.
After putting the pendant on Curaçao, Chinatsu nodded in satisfaction: "You look even prettier now, Curaçao. You suit jewelry very well."
"I hadn't noticed." Curaçao adjusted her hair somewhat awkwardly.
Chinatsu immediately spotted the highlight and exclaimed, "I want a hair clip too!"
Curaçao's hand, which was fixing her hair, froze.
"Hurry up, let's go pick out some hair clips!" Takanashi Chinatsu grabbed Curaçao and ran off.
Although Akemi Miyano doesn't usually dress extravagantly, she does have a few decent pieces of jewelry. Even though she bought some this time and changed into them, it didn't make much of a difference. However, Curaçao's sudden change of clothes and jewelry was quite refreshing.
"Would you like to get your nails done?"
"How about getting a perm? I've wanted to see silver hair with big waves for ages!"
"Miss Ku, I think this lip gloss would suit you very well."
"Kuku, I want to eat oden. How about we go eat it together?"
Curaçao could never get a word in edgewise when the girls were talking; she could only nod.
However, she managed to keep her hair in the end. Takanashi Chinatsu had a change of heart and didn't actually take her to get a perm, but instead braided her hair into a simple three-strand braid, which looked refreshing and innocent.
"Let's go shopping again tomorrow!" Takanashi Chinatsu announced loudly on the way back.
“Okay,” Miyano Akemi was the first to agree.
Curaçao opened his mouth, hesitated, and finally nodded.
The three parted ways at the crossroads, each heading home.
Curaçao walked quietly, and in the distance, a car flashed its lights at her.
She hurried over, and through the open car window, Bacardi was smoking a cigarette.
"Get in the car." He gestured with his lips.
Curaçao got into the car and sat in the passenger seat without saying a word.
Bacardi started the car, driving at a moderate speed, and asked casually, "Rum really doesn't want you anymore? When did Lord Rum become so soft-hearted? He didn't even get rid of you."
Curaçao's face turned cold, but he did not speak.
He went further and further: "People like you should die, not be let go."
Curaçao suddenly drew his gun and pointed it at Bacardi's head.
Bacardi drove at a leisurely pace, not even glancing at Curaçao, his voice dripping with chilling malice that seemed to seep into one's bones, "Want to go for a drive to the Underworld?"
He stepped on the gas, and the car suddenly sped up.
Curaçao stumbled backward, but kept the muzzle of her gun steady against Bacardi's head, while her other hand gripped the back of the seat tightly.
"Fire, Curaçao!" Bacardi spread his arms wide, his eyes filled with madness.
Curaçao's face turned extremely ugly. He no longer cared about Bacardi and slammed his hands onto the steering wheel, managing to stabilize the car at the last second.
Bacardi didn't ease off the accelerator. He calmly took out his pistol and pressed the muzzle against Curaçao's neck.
“The master’s orders are indeed not to be disobeyed, but if you die, the master will not say anything. Curaçao, do you really think you can escape Lord Rum’s control?” He slowly released the safety.
The cell phone rang.
There was no music, just the most ordinary ringtone.
The shrill ringtone sounded even more jarring amidst the tense atmosphere. Bacardi held a pistol in one hand and took the phone from Curaçao with the other.
When the call connected, Bacardi spoke first.
“Lord Rum, it is I, Bacardi.”
"Release Curaçao and come back immediately," Rum coldly ordered.
Bacardi frowned deeply, his eyes fixed on Curaçao, his intense killing intent almost engulfing the other man.
"Obey orders, Bacardi."
“Yes, I understand.” Bacardi took a deep breath, hung up the phone, tossed it to Curaçao, and after parking the car, said coldly, “Get out!”
Curaçao never argued, nor did he intend to retaliate; upon hearing this, he simply got out of the car.
Bacardi seemed quite annoyed with her, slamming on the gas and the car almost flew off, quickly disappearing from Curaçao's sight.
Curaçao watched quietly, her eyes devoid of any emotion. Only when she touched the three-strand braid did her expression soften slightly, and a gentler look seemed to appear in her eyes.
Chinatsu spent a whole week playing with Curaçao, and watching Curaçao go from being expressionless at first to having more smiles later on made her feel incredibly accomplished.
She threw all of that—Lay, undercover agent—to the side.
Although Takanashi Chinatsu didn't know how to infiltrate, she was very clear about one thing: the more indifferent she seemed, the less she cared about those people, the less Curaçao would pay attention to them.
It's a real shame, though, that Curaçao was ultimately an enemy sent by Rum.
Gin secretly sent her a message: although Curaçao was officially sent to her by the Master, Rum was actually involved and approved of her. Curaçao was essentially a ticking time bomb.
Gin's meaning is either get rid of Curaçao or get rid of Ray.
Two choices: one to die, one to live.
Of course, Chinatsu Takanashi would never send Rae to his death; she wanted to bring down the organization, and the FBI was her true ally.
Can……
Do you want to kill Curaçao?
Takanashi Chika quietly looked at Curaçao. She was completely different from how she looked a week ago. People who are loved have a light in their eyes. Before, they had to push and shove her to go shopping and have fun, but now she was taking the initiative to try on lipstick shades.
"This 013 suits you very well, let's take this one, wrap it up." Takanashi Chinatsu gestured to the sales assistant to wrap it up.
“I have money, it’s my treat.” Curaçao pulled out a card.
The card was old; the strawberry sticker on it had turned yellow, but its owner had protected it well and the edges had never curled.
Of course she recognized the card.
Takanashi Chika stared quietly at the card. In the past few days, she would be slightly lost in thought every time Curaçao took out the card.
That was a card she gave to Curaçao. She gave it to Curaçao when they first met, thinking she was a pitiful little thing. The strawberry sticker on it was a gift from Gin, which Curaçao had casually stuck on.
It wasn't pasted straight; it was a bit to the right, crooked and distorted, with a childish look.
But Curaçao didn't care. She took out the card again and again and swiped it repeatedly. It contained all her savings from the years.
“This card is cute,” Akemi Miyano said with a smile.
Curaçao gripped the card tightly, nodded, and calmly replied, "This card is very important to me. It was given to me by my most important friend, and I would do anything for my friend."
"Boom—"
Like a thunderbolt striking, Takanashi Chika understood everything.
fraud!
So that's how it is. She had sensed something was wrong before. Did they need Curaçao's help to capture Ray? The organization's modus operandi was to presume guilt before conviction. From the moment the organization began to suspect Ray, he was already a criminal.
Whether it's arresting and torturing or executing them outright, the organization is capable of doing it, and has always done it this way. So why send Curaçao to test them this time?
Curaçao is too important to the organization; she knows too many of its secrets. Ray is just an ordinary undercover agent. The reason Curaçao is being deployed is probably to deal with someone of a higher status.
Now it seems that the organization's target wasn't Lai at all; the organization's target was her.
Or rather, Rum's target was her.
Chinatsu's hands were as cold as ice. Betraying the organization meant certain death. This was the second time Rum had tried to kill her.
This is the second time. Even if Takanashi Chinatsu had a bad temper to begin with, she would still lose her temper by now, let alone if she were a saint.
"Don't let her get away with this," Takanashi Chika thought angrily. If she escaped this ordeal, she would definitely make Rum suffer.
"Kuku, you're so great!" Takanashi Chinatsu happily hugged Curaçao, seemingly responding to her earlier statement that she was "best friend."
Curaçao smiled, gazing at her tenderly.
"Angmei."
A voice came from afar, and Takanashi Chika's heart skipped a beat.
"My Lord, what brings you here?" Miyano Akemi looked over happily.
Watching Lei walk towards them, Takanashi Chika slowly released Curaçao and glared at Lei when Curaçao couldn't see her.
They've all warned him not to get his hands on Curaçao!
Idiot, moron!
She was trying so hard to pull him out, and Ray was actually rushing towards him. Is he crazy?
Lei held Akemi's hand, looked at Takanashi Chinatsu with a somewhat innocent expression, and complained in his voice, "I've been lending you my girlfriend for so long, and you've never returned her, so I had to come and find her myself."
"You really love your girlfriend, don't you?" Takanashi Chinatsu emphasized each word, her tone laced with sarcasm.
He said he came to find a girlfriend, but he's really here for Curaçao.
"Alright, I'm giving your girlfriend back to you, Kuku, let's go play over there." Takanashi Chinatsu pulled Curaçao away.
Curaçao nodded and followed in her footsteps.
Chinatsu had been wary of Rai following her, but after walking a while, she found that Rai and Akemi were still standing in the same place, and she breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed that Rai wasn't stupid and wouldn't dare to be so blatant.
Because of Lei's sudden appearance, Takanashi Chinatsu became distracted while shopping, and as she walked, she heard Miyano Akemi's laughter from ahead.
Um?
She paused, surprised. She hadn't turned back. Why were Lai and Mingmei here?
"What a coincidence, Mingmei is helping me pick out a pair of sunglasses," Lei said with a smile.
Akemi Miyano smiled and nodded, her voice gentle: "The Lord's sunglasses are broken, I'll help him pick out a new pair."
What a coincidence! Takanashi Chika was dumbfounded. This time, it was her turn to hesitate. If she deliberately avoided them, it would be obvious that she had something to hide. So she decided to bite the bullet and walk over.
"I'll help Kuku pick out a pair too."
Ray glanced at Curaçao, where the men's and women's glasses were placed very close together, and he commented, "If this lady were to wear them, I would recommend these brown polarized sunglasses. The frames are made of titanium alloy, and they are both exquisite and fashionable."
"Thank you." Although she was saying thank you, Curaçao didn't look over, waiting for Chinatsu Takanashi to help her choose.
"Frameless sunglasses are all the rage these days, miss. I recommend this gradient frameless pair." A voice came from behind.
Curaçao was not surprised. She turned around and nodded to Bourbon to thank him, but showed no intention of trying them on.
Chinatsu Takanashi was a little confused. Why was Bourbon here? And what was he doing in the mall in a wheelchair?
If Bourbon and Rae both come, then… Takanashi Chinatsu suddenly had a bad feeling.
Sure enough, the next second she heard Scotland's gentle voice: "How about photochromic glasses? You won't be afraid of high beams when driving at night."
Scotland peeked out from the left of Chizuru and handed her the glasses he was holding.
Takanashi Chinatsu, holding the glasses, asked in a bewildered tone, "Then why don't you try them?"
“But I want you to help me choose.” Curaçao didn’t take it, but looked at Takanashi Chinatsu earnestly and expectantly.
Ray, Bourbon, and Scotland all watched with anticipation as Chizuru Takayuki swam.
Chinatsuko: ...
Seriously? What's going on? There wasn't a single one here just now, how come a whole bunch of them have appeared?
Will they split up? One splits into two, two splits into three—are they all eyeing Curaçao? But Bourbon and Scotland aren't undercover agents, so why are they targeting Curaçao?
Could it be...?
"Chika, I really want you to help me pick out a pair of sunglasses too." Bourbon came forward in his wheelchair, pitifully clasping his hands together in a pleading manner.
“Speaking of which, I also want a pair of sunglasses. Chinatsu-chan can’t be biased.” Scotland stepped forward, deliberately blocking Bourbon and Chinatsu.
“Although Mingmei has a good eye, sometimes you have to listen to your boss’s opinion.” Lei Yi curled his lips.
really!
Chika was speechless. Bourbon and Scotland weren't there for Curaçao at all; they were clearly watching Ray the whole time. They moved in unison whenever Ray made a move, deliberately running up to him to compete for his attention!
Gently clutching her chest, Takanashi Chinatsu felt helpless against them. She had repeatedly instigated this competition between men; she was truly a sinful woman.
