Chapter 109 The Terrible Kingdom
Kill the queen directly? Hearing Aurora's suggestion, Rhine couldn't help but mutter in his heart:
"You're the one who came up with this idea, Aurora."
This kid is always overly aggressive in some way.
"The queen wants to kill us. She is also a member of the Witch Society. She is really not a good person and her death does not deserve to be a pity." Rhine said, staring at the queen who was unconscious but still breathing on the ground.
"However, if the queen suddenly disappears and dies, there is no guarantee that the king will not take drastic actions, which may cause chaos in the entire White Kingdom!"
Rhine squatted down and observed the unconscious queen on the ground.
“When I was in the West Asian Kingdom, I heard that the king of the neighboring White Kingdom had been obsessed with the beautiful queen since he married her, and had ignored state affairs.
"Now I understand. The queen cast an intoxicating spell on herself, which doubled the king's love for her."
Rhine believed that this was why the queen was afraid of women who were more beautiful than herself! This might reduce the king's love for her.
"Since we can't kill her, what should we do?" Aurora was in a dilemma. "Can we still persuade her to be a good person in the future?"
"That may not be impossible." Rhine said meaningfully, "Her motives are normal, but her methods are evil and stupid. Such a clown villain may not be impossible to turn over a new leaf."
As we all know, in all kinds of novels and animations, villains who are too stupid have the opportunity to become funny characters! Rhine thought.
"How can we persuade her to mend her ways? She's still in a coma." Aurora asked.
She found that Rhine smiled but said nothing, as if he already had an idea in mind.
"Has the teacher come up with any new ideas?" Aurora thought in confusion.
Aurora knew very well that this wise man of the Kingdom of Rose always had many novel ideas that were ahead of their time, from granting her the blessing of a warrior to facilitating an alliance between the mermaids and humans.
Just then, the dwarfs who had gone up the mountain to mine also returned in groups.
When they saw the unconscious queen, they were all stunned: "Oh my God, isn't this the queen of the White Kingdom? We have seen her portrait. She wanted to kill you, but you killed her instead?"
"I wanted to harm someone, but ended up making things worse and ended up falling victim to my own trick." Rhine explained simply.
"The queen is unconscious now. What do you think we should do with her? Should we just kill her?" Aurora asked when she saw the dwarves coming back.
The dwarves discussed and came up with the answer:
"We have heard that how to deal with a country's king should be decided by the people of that country. We think the same is true for the queen.
"Why don't you ask the people of the White Kingdom what to do with the queen?"
"What a naive statement, but it does make sense." Aurora thought about the dwarfs' innocent words.
"That's true. I was planning to meet hunter Angus's adoptive father, a carpenter," said Rhine.
So they dragged the unconscious queen into the house and had the dwarves put her into a crystal coffin for her protection, while Rhine and Aurora teleported out of the forest and went to the city of the White Kingdom.
Like most small kingdoms in the Western Continent, the White Kingdom has only one large town, which is their royal city.
As soon as Rhine and Aurora entered the town, they felt it was barren and chaotic.
Oh, this city is terrible! It is dirty everywhere, the road has not been repaired for years, and there is mud and stinking water everywhere.
From time to time, you can encounter robbers and thieves; there are always hunchbacked beggars on both sides of the road holding up bowls to beg passers-by; the soldiers show off their power and beat pedestrians who do not give way to them with big sticks.
"The situation in the White Kingdom doesn't look good either." Aurora said thoughtfully.
They walked to a large, dark, eerie building with iron windows.
Everyone said that was the kingdom's prison and it was full of people.
"If all the bad guys are in jail, why are the streets so chaotic? If most of the bad guys are not in jail, then what are they locked up in jail for?" Aurora thought.
At this moment, at the prison gate, Aurora and Rhine heard a sad cry.
"Why is my adopted son in jail? He has not committed any crime! He is an innocent and good child."
"Let me see my son! Please. At least let me know why he was thrown into death row."
"Everybody says he's going to be hanged next week. Why? Why?"
An elderly grandfather cried to the soldiers at the prison gate, begging them to let him in to see his son.
"Why so many whys? This is the will of His Majesty the King or the Queen!"
The big soldier pushed the old man to the ground roughly. It looked like he was in great pain! "Your adopted son is going to be executed. He is going to die. Forget about him!" another small soldier also shouted.
"Please, I'll give you this treasure. Can you at least let me see my son?"
The old man endured the pain in his body, stood up again, and looked at the two soldiers with a smile.
He carefully unwrapped the handkerchief, revealing a pearl inside, and handed it over with a flattering look on his face.
The pearl was large and shiny, and it looked very valuable—it was the pearl that Rhine had given to the hunter Angus’s family, a pearl from the Sea Country! The big soldier snatched the pearl away and examined it carefully.
The latest novel is published first on Liu9shuba!
"It certainly looks like the real deal, boss," the smaller soldier said.
"You're just an ordinary carpenter, how could you have such a big pearl? It must be fake." The big soldier scolded, "Get out of here now, and don't come back, before we throw you into prison with us!"
Having said that, the big soldier stuffed the pearl into his pocket at the same time, with a hint of smugness flashing across his lips.
Several soldiers drove the old carpenter away together. They took big sticks and wanted to hit him. The old carpenter was so scared that he had to step back and fall to the ground.
Looking at this scene, Rhine sighed softly.
"He is the carpenter adoptive father of Hunter Angus. Was the hunter thrown into prison for failing to complete the Queen's mission?"
The little magician's index finger gently moved.
The sticks in the hands of several soldiers suddenly came alive, jumped up and hit their own heads, leaving them with lumps all over their heads.
Then the sticks all hit the big soldier who looked like the officer, and he was so scared that he cried out "there's a ghost" and collapsed to the ground, with even his pants turning yellow.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Rhine pulled the confused old carpenter away from the prison gate.
The young magician simply snapped his fingers, and all the bruises on the old carpenter from beatings and falls disappeared.
"Oh my god, did you help me? Is this magic? I actually saw real magic!"
The old carpenter was stunned, as if he had seen something out of a fairy tale appear in reality!
"Thank you. I really don't know how to thank you! My home is nearby, why don't you come over and have a seat at my house?"
In a corner of the street, the old carpenter spoke excitedly, with two lines of tears streaming down his cheeks.
"You must be a very powerful magician. Can you save my adopted son? His name is Angus, and he's a hunter. Some time ago, he was caught and imprisoned for some unknown reason. He will be hanged next week!"
Rhine nodded and agreed immediately: "Don't worry, I will rescue your adopted son and make sure he is safe."
On the way back to the old carpenter's house, Rhine asked:
"Old man, what's your name? " "We are outsiders. Tell us about what happened in the White Kingdom over the years."
The old carpenter nodded slightly: "My name is Geppetto, I am an experienced carpenter in the capital of the White Kingdom, and I am quite famous."
Geppetto? Rhine raised his eyebrows.
Are you the future father of Pinocchio? (End of this chapter)
