wind.
A strong wind whistled past my ears.
Ning Feng stood atop the mountain peak, quietly looking down at his feet.
He gazed into the void.
His eyes were as black and deep as the void.
After placing Cecilia, he did not completely leave the dream world, but returned to the original layer of the dream.
It's not that we can't do it, but there are still some issues that haven't been resolved.
Ning Feng pondered what all of this meant.
What is the deeper meaning behind these events?
"What does all of this mean?"
Why did I dream of Cecilia in that pure white space?
What exactly did he experience in that dream? What was his purpose at that time?
What do I mean to them?
Why was Ariana willing to give so much, and why was she willing to yield to him in various ways?
And why is Cecilia so fixated on his special qualities?
Why did Cecilia choose to endure the fear instead of killing him when faced with that choice?
There are just too many questions, and the doubts are impossible to answer.
And, most importantly, one more question.
Who am I?
Where do these special qualities of mine come from?
What will my fate be?
What kind of mission do I carry on my shoulders?
Unfortunately, no one answered.
No one could give him an answer.
He stood silently, keeping his thoughts to himself.
No answers were sought from anyone.
...
...
Time passed.
Cecilia had never paid any attention to the concept of time.
Whether it was the millennia of wars of the past or the period of forced slumber, time was merely a symbol to her.
The long passage of time left no trace on Cecilia, nor did it make her feel much attachment.
She was lonely, and used to this loneliness.
But now, time has never felt so long to Cecilia.
Fear was ravaging Cecilia's mortal body at this moment.
If she were truly just an ordinary person, she might have already collapsed and died, or died in shock.
But she wasn't.
With her powerful soul, she couldn't even faint.
They could only experience fear that would break a mortal, again and again, and endure the torment repeatedly.
Is this a form of torture?
Perhaps that was the case at the beginning, but after gradually getting used to it, she developed another feeling.
It's somewhat novel.
An experience unlike any other, from resistance to gradual adaptation, and finally to acceptance.
My body has begun to adjust to the trembling, my heartbeat is gradually calming down, and my body's various reactions are gradually coming under control.
Cecilia remained standing, lost in thought.
Why did I make this choice?
Why did I choose to continue resisting given the choice Ning Feng offered?
Is it this feeling of "fear" that makes me feel curious and want to try more?
still……
"Do I really not want to kill him?"
The reason I let him go last time wasn't because of his farewell speech during the trial, which made me let him go this time.
Or is it that there are other thoughts in my mind that are influencing me?
She also did not arrive at an answer.
Good evening, madam.
A seemingly frivolous voice rang out very close to her ear, causing Cecilia, who was on edge, to let out a soft gasp.
Ning Feng suddenly appeared in the darkness where only Cecilia was present, his face full of smiles, showing no sign of confusion.
"Oh dear, I'm so sorry. I was thinking about some things and then I remembered that I had you locked up here."
Ning Feng smiled as he watched Cecilia, who had lost her balance due to fright, but did not reach out to help her up. Instead, he let her fall.
But thanks to her superb balance, Cecilia stopped herself at the last moment before falling, shifted her weight forward, and slowly but firmly stood up.
Clap clap clap.
"Your adaptability is stronger than I thought. It seems that my psychological trauma is nothing to you anymore."
With a light laugh and applause, Ning Feng sincerely praised:
"That's truly admirable."
Her eyes were still shrouded in darkness, so she couldn't see Ning Feng's expression. Cecilia slowly turned her head in the direction of the voice.
Are you here to humiliate me?
Are you here to show off?
"Humiliation? No, how could I do such a thing?"
Shaking his head vigorously, Ning Feng resolutely denied the other party's slander.
Would I be that kind of person who enjoys himself?
"I just suddenly realized something."
"I've been thinking a lot about what I really mean to you?"
"A lucky one? An item that can't be given up? It can't be the chosen one, can it?"
Ning Feng sighed, laughing at his own somewhat naive thoughts from before.
"Now it seems that neither is true."
Cecilia's brow furrowed slightly with fear; she wondered what answer Ning Feng had given that made him speak so easily.
It was as if a heavy weight had been lifted from my body.
"At the beginning, because of the examples of some bad women, I had some misunderstandings about you and treated you as another contractor."
Or rather, people who have such goodwill towards themselves.
"Later I realized that I was overthinking things, and that we didn't seem to have such a close relationship."
