In the brightly lit corridor, a woman dressed in long boots and a sharp black military uniform paused for a moment, holding her breath slightly.
After a moment of silence, she gently knocked on the door, stood at attention, and spoke with a confident air:
"Your Excellency the Grand Duke."
There was no response; not only in the room, but the entire corridor seemed quiet.
However, she felt an inexplicable pressure constantly approaching her.
Silent and still, but she could clearly feel an overwhelming presence approaching her.
call……
As her breath began to turn into a layer of white mist, fine ice marks gradually appeared on the door.
Suppressing her fear, the woman stood motionless, her mind taut.
Finally, when the entire gate was frozen solid, the completely frozen handrail suddenly twisted slightly.
Card.
Card!
The frozen door was pulled open and slowly opened inwards.
From the moment the door was opened, a large amount of cold air rushed out, causing the temperature in the entire corridor to drop rapidly.

Just as the woman was about to give up and her body was trembling uncontrollably, the chilling cold suddenly disappeared.
"Um."
A cold, serious voice came from the half-open door:
"Come in."
As if by conditioned reflex, the woman stood at attention and bowed, her every move revealing no trace of the embarrassing situation she had almost made.
"yes!"
After the man's voice appeared, everything returned to normal in the woman's eyes.
There was no air conditioning in the hallway, and the doors weren't frozen; everything seemed perfectly normal.
It was as if... everything that had just happened was an illusion.
But the woman felt the sweat-soaked fabric of her clothes on her back and knew she wasn't delirious.
The woman loosened her clenched fist and strode into the dark room.
The moment the heel of her boot stepped into the room, the woman gritted her teeth and resolutely stepped inside.
Kacha.
She was truly stepping on shattered ice.
Standing firmly at the doorway without entering, the imposing woman bowed to the Grand Duke Hanci inside the room, then raised her head and said:
"Your Excellency, I, your humble servant Eberron, am reporting today's intelligence: the total number of enemies eliminated in the war zone is..."
"Get straight to the point. You know what I want to know."
He waved to Eberlen's back, continued fiddling with something at the control panel, and then reached out to grab another tool.
From Eberron's perspective, one could clearly see the deep red bloodstains on Grand Duke Frostthorn's hands.
His throat bobbed, but Eberron concealed his probing and forced a calm expression as he spoke:
"……yes."
The report was interrupted, but Eberlen wasn't surprised. After a pause, he slowly began to speak:
"Today, four large-scale battles broke out in the war zone, with casualties including... one fourth-tier soldier, fifteen third-tier soldiers, and three hundred and twenty-one second-tier and below soldiers."
"A total of... 337 people."
Here, death is just a number, a cold, hard number.
It is impossible to describe the victims' former appearance, personality, or anything else, but those numbers represent them.
It represents their death.
The burly figure seemed to show no particular reaction after hearing this, remaining as silent as a mountain, only slowly nodding and saying:
"Um."
A sound coming from the nasal cavity.
This is the complete reaction of Grand Duke Hanci to the fallen soldiers under his command.
He bit his lip, wanting to say something, but in the end all his struggles turned into silence.
She lowered her head and remained silent regarding the deaths of those people and the attitude of Grand Duke Hanci.
No……
In the very end, she managed to lift her head and ask:
"Sir, I think... perhaps you should change your current fighting style?"
Transgression.
Eberlen knew perfectly well what she was doing; she had said things she shouldn't have.
This is overstepping one's bounds!
Her words were not only an appeal for those people, but also a blatant slap in the face to Grand Duke Hanci, who had established the current style.
But she had to say it.
She had to stand up for those soldiers who sacrificed their lives in vain!
Even if it would anger a capricious being, a legendary judge known for his cruel rule.
"Many of our soldiers are afraid, worried that they will become part of the suicide squad."
His clenched fist trembled, and his nails pierced Eberron's palm, drawing blood.
Trembling, she stared at the seemingly unwavering back and shouted:
"They are willing to sacrifice for this world, but they are unwilling to sacrifice anything of any value!"
Eberron had seen the skeletons that were brought back.
Torn apart, crushed, even devoured...
That wasn't a corpse at all; at most, it was just some incomplete pieces of flesh.
"Excuse my presumption, but we must change our current strategy, otherwise..."
Card.

A soft, crisp sound from the control panel was enough to dissipate the courage that Eberlen had finally mustered.
