Death is fair to everyone.
Whether you like it or not, death will always be waiting for you at the end of your life.
No matter how hard you struggle, death will never be absent from your life.
"We are soldiers, and from the day we took up arms, we knew what awaited us ahead."
There was neither pride nor sorrow in his words; Andrew simply spoke calmly:
"It is about fighting, killing, and dying with others."
Under Lafaya's silent gaze, her little fists clenched, Andrew gently patted Eberon's back.
"Before we came here, we all knew what was going to happen. This was definitely not a nice place for a vacation; it was destined to be a meat grinder full of blood and death."
He released his embrace, gently lifted Eberlen's chin, and softly wiped away her tears with a handkerchief.
"But we still came."
Without hesitation, never looking back.
"I believe that if they knew your thoughts, all the soldiers would feel comforted and grateful... but they would still go to the battlefield."
Even if it means facing death.
"While we appreciate your consideration, please don't underestimate our awareness."
His gaze was gentle yet powerful, like a lighthouse in a chaotic world, illuminating the confusion and darkness before Eberron's eyes.
"We will move forward, because a true warrior never bows to death."
Even if the fate of death was already predetermined.
His eyes widened, Eberron's bloodshot eyes, filled with confusion from crying, and he murmured unconsciously:
"But isn't this suicide? They..."
Before she could finish speaking, Andrew gently pressed his finger against her lips.
The crow, now reverting to its gentle, aristocratic appearance, gently shook its head.
"No, this is not suicide."
You could call it stupid.
You can criticize this as foolishness.
However, please do not underestimate such determination.
And certainly don't call this "sending someone to their death."
because……
"We are willing to make sacrifices, not for death."
Staring intently at Aberron, who was gradually regaining his senses, Andrew spoke earnestly:
"It's not so much to achieve victory."
In order to achieve final victory!
These are the warriors of the Watchers.
We come together because of our beliefs, and we strive for a common goal.
Staring blankly at the face before him, Eberlen felt most of the pressure in his heart disappear without him even realizing it.
Perhaps it was released through crying and screaming, or perhaps it was because...
After sniffing, Eberlen gradually regained his composure, pursed his lips, placed his hand in Andrew's palm, and was pulled up by him.
After standing up, Eberron turned his head slightly to cover his embarrassment, coughed lightly, and didn't mention the previous incident again. He then turned back and asked:
"So you mean you need to confirm with...with your partner?"
Andrew also slightly averted his gaze, nodded gently, and said:
"Yes, thank you for your understanding. I need to talk to them again..."
"No need, that's fine."
At that moment, a calm and indifferent voice sounded from behind, causing the tense Eberlen to turn around abruptly.
A man wearing a pure white mask appeared behind them without them even noticing!
I did lose my composure, but that doesn’t mean my perception has dropped to that level.
Lafaya's reaction surprised Eberron even more.
His usually expressionless adjutant suddenly stood defiantly in front of him and the man.
Is she afraid?
Is it because of the way the other person appeared?
Or is it for some other reason?
"Who are you?"
Concealing his momentary panic, Eberon gently patted Rafaya's shoulder, then asked the man who stood quietly in place.
She already had an uncertain answer, but she needed the other party to give her confirmation.
The man who suddenly appeared nodded, then shook his head:
"You can call me Mephistopheles, and as for anything else, you don't need to know it now."
Welcome to the company.
Looking into those emotionless golden eyes, Eberlen breathed a sigh of relief and almost unconsciously reached out to grasp the hand that was offered to him.
"ah!"
But Mephistopheles didn't shake her hand. Instead, he suddenly changed his actions halfway through, grabbed her wrist through her clothes, and shoved her backward.
winter.
Despite losing her balance, Eberlen did not fall to the ground, but instead landed in a warm embrace.
Just as she was about to fall, Andrew stepped forward and caught her shoulder, stopping the impact.
"you!?"
Without the slightest hint of guilt, Mephistopheles spoke calmly:
“Andrew didn’t say enough. Not only do you not understand the battlefield, you also lack some essential combat common sense, such as the necessary vigilance towards strangers, or even the body’s center of gravity. You lack these most basic abilities.”
But before Aberron could retort, Mephistopheles stated directly:
"But that's okay, it's not a big problem."
“We… well, Andrew will do everything he can to ensure your safety.”
ah?
Nodding to the dazed Eberlen, Ning Feng simultaneously released his grip on Rafaya's hands, which he had been holding behind her back, and threw her down.
