The dark red flames clinging to the greatsword devoured all the flesh and soul on the head, leaving Descartes no time to think.
He would never know the truth behind what Karan said, and died with unanswered questions and a sense of unease.
With a soft pop, Dekel's ugly, scarred body began to rapidly decay and shrivel, like a balloon punctured by a needle.
In just a few breaths, the once tall and fat demon duke was transformed into a shriveled zombie.
"Um?"
Even the parts in the Death Hunter's hands were the same, becoming shriveled and eerie in a very short time.
"I'm sorry, I didn't expect him to turn out like this after he died."
Karan shook his head apologetically at the Death Hunter and said regretfully:
"If I had known it would turn out like this, I would have just let you destroy and devour him directly."
Raising one of its hands, the Death Hunter reached out and pulled the half-eaten arm out of its mouth. After glancing at it with a sidelong look, it nonchalantly shoved it back in.
There's no problem; the power within hasn't decreased, but rather become more refined.
One bite, and it's crunchy and delicious.
Seeing that the Death Hunter didn't seem angry, Kalan smiled and nodded, then turned to look at Descartes' head rolling down at his feet.
Although most of his rebellions were nonsense, Descartes was right about one thing.
Karan wouldn't really pin his hopes on the Death Hunters.
Even though their relationship seems harmonious and friendly now, and the Death Hunter is behaving very obediently.
But Karan knew exactly why.
Was it because he told the Death Hunter a lot of stories?
Did the two truly develop an interracial relationship?
Neither.
It's because, in the eyes of the Death Hunter, he could barely be considered one of their own when he showed a humble side to the Sage.
That's all.
If one day I betray the sage, or am no longer recognized by the sage.
What will become of me then...?
With his eyes closed and listening to the eerie chewing sounds around him, Karan silently shook his head.
"hehe……"
That kind of future is something you can imagine even if you're clueless, isn't it?
With a self-deprecating grin, Karan opened his eyes and silently recited a sentence:
"But how could a plaything possibly rebel against its master?"
How could that be?
Do I even have the qualifications? Heh...
He bent down, picked up the head, and strode out of the dungeon.
Behind her, the Death Hunter, who had somehow reverted to his androgynous boy form, was quietly gazing at her graceful figure.
He silently gave a strange smile, then quickly disappeared into Karan's shadow.
Unaware of what was happening behind him, Karan strode forward, walked up the spiraling stairs, and pushed open the dungeon door at the end of the road.
Outside the dungeon, Descartes' mansion was now a ruin, stained with flying blood and flesh, and filled with the acrid smell of burning flames.
Beneath the crimson sky, amidst the swirling dust, Lily, Karan's most loyal subject, knelt respectfully on one knee, her hand clasped to her chest, head bowed, awaiting his arrival.
Behind her, more than two hundred demon warriors clad in dark red armor stood silently, weapons in hand.
Motionless, showing no trace of their usual anger and agitation, these demons resembled the most elite soldiers in a mortal army.
"Welcome, Your Majesty!"
After her death, they fell into the hands of the new queen.
Looking at the scene before him, Karan couldn't laugh inside, but on the surface he appeared extremely excited.
"Good, very good!"
"My loyal warriors, I am so glad to see you all standing before me unharmed!"
To make matters more awkward, none of the warriors responded to the Queen's words.
They simply stared intently with similarly fierce gazes, without uttering a single word.
Karan narrowed his eyes slightly and tightened his left hand behind his back.
Hehehe, is this the kind of thing you're going to do?
At this moment, Lily, seemingly oblivious to the atmosphere, suddenly looked up and loudly reported:
"Praise be to Your Majesty! Under your leadership, we have achieved a glorious victory in the battle against the Grand Duke's forces!"
Behind these people, a series of grotesque, bloody structures made of demon heads proved that her words were true.
All the demons who fought against them have been annihilated and their heads have been cut off and made into spoils of war.
At that moment, after hearing Lily's lead shout, the silent elite warriors roared out at the same time!
"A resounding victory!"
A resounding victory!
"
A resounding victory!
!
The fierce aura that had been gathered together burst forth with a strong wind, shooting straight into the sky and even dispersing some of the crimson clouds!
But that was just the aftermath. What this frenzied energy was really facing was the new queen who appeared before them!
They are the Flame Demon Queen's trump card, a bloodthirsty force hidden in the shadows, and a sharp blade team capable of dealing with any hostile force.
