Bang bang bang!
"Cough cough cough..."
Bang!
Click, click, click!
"Damn monster."
Cole hurled his jammed pistol with force, smashing it hard against the enemy.
Unfortunately, he simply didn't have enough strength to smash the other person to death with his pistol.
Even because his right arm was severely injured, the pistol he threw only barely hit the enemy's calf.
Snap.
It fell very weakly, without causing even the slightest damage.
No, it does have some effect.
"Look me in the eye! You octopus-headed monster!"
It doesn't cause much harm, but it's extremely insulting.
The monster struck by Cole stopped devouring the corpse in its hand and turned to look at its next prey, slumped in the corner.
It had four tentacles near its mouth, and its head looked like an octopus-like monster staring at him.
Even though he knew he was going to die, being stared at by those milky white eyes without any pores still made Cole feel an uncontrollable fear and disgust.
Mind flayers, or mind flayers, are brutal creatures that feed on the brains of their enemies.
Even among all extraordinary beings, this is the worst opponent.
"Become a slave after having your brains sucked out? Ha... that's the worst option ever."
Buzzing...
The mind flayer who had infiltrated the command room didn't speak, but instead used psionic energy to speak directly into Cole's mind:
("Mortal, are you courting death?")
("Since you're in such a hurry, fine, you can start first.")
Tentacles detached from the unconscious commander's head, and the Mind Flayer, nearly 1.8 meters tall, slowly floated towards Cole, about 10 centimeters off the ground.
Guh.
"Tsk... I guess I was impulsive after all."
With a strain of his teeth, Cole tried hard to control the tremors in his facial muscles.
Cole's gaze swept over his unconscious colleagues scattered on the ground, and his heart sank.
"I should have saved the last bullet for myself."
Cole never regretted showing his fangs to the enemy; he hadn't really had much hope of getting back alive.
He is a sinner who has come to atone for his sins.
To burn away the remaining value of oneself in order to atone for the sins one has committed.
But if someone were to have their brains drained and become their slave, living a life of mind control and subservience, it would be better to just let them die.
“I have to provoke him so that he will kill me.”
That's better than being a slave!
Forcing himself to sit up, his vision blurred from blood loss, Cole mustered his strength and defiantly said:
"Hey! Monster...aren't you ashamed of how you look? Don't your gods hate you?"
However, the mind flayer's reaction was calm, or rather, there was no reaction at all.
So indifferent?
Isn't this enough—they've already shamed our appearance and insulted our faith?
"Your tentacles look sticky, aren't you going to clean them? Could it be that..."
("mortal.")
Cole: !
!
Seemingly finding Cole a bit noisy, the Mind Flayer spoke calmly:
("Don't judge me with the low-level aesthetics of you humans, you inferior creatures. That only makes me laugh.")
? ? ?
Looking down at Cole with indifference, the Mind Flayer stood with his hands behind his back, elegantly mocking him:
("Do you really think you're beautiful?")
Raising a hand, the mind flayer gently pointed at a corpse at its feet, using psionic power to make it float.
Even though Cole desperately wanted to deny it, he had to admit that he sensed a touch of elegance as the Mind Flayer with the octopus head waved his hand...
("In my eyes, you are all equally ugly, and if it weren't for the need to avoid wasting food, I wouldn't even want to touch you.")
With a clenched fist, immense spiritual energy slowly circulated, directly controlling the corpse's head to begin spinning continuously...
Card!
That was Yin Tu, a young man who always loved to laugh. He was the first to notice something was wrong, but he was also the first to die.
But now, his head has been forcibly ripped off by the monster and is being toyed with like a ball.
"You! You damned monster! You..."
Tsk!
Gritting his teeth, Cole refused to show any weakness.
brute!
("Give up, you can't possibly provoke me. Any words you say will be in vain.")
This monster!
!
"Damn it! You bunch of idiots won't be arrogant for long. Our reinforcements will be here soon, and then none of you will escape!"
The movement paused for a moment, but the mind flayer quickly continued to extend its tentacles toward Cole, while whispering in his mind:
("Then let's look forward to it, but you're destined not to see it.")
Get out of my mind!
Don't talk in my head!
Having completely given up the struggle, Cole steeled his resolve.
As the monster drew ever closer, Cole flicked his blood-stained beard, abruptly raised his middle finger, and arrogantly declared:
I curse you!
"Go to hell! You piece of shit octopus head!"
Card.
Um?
Hearing a crisp sound, Cole turned his head and saw a slight crack in the ceiling above the Mind Flayer's head.
