"I suddenly realized that you know a lot about me, but I know very little about you."
Feeling the heartbeat of the person in his arms and savoring the fragrance emanating from her, Ning Feng was completely at ease.
"That's a bit unfair."
"So, at least, could you tell me your name?"
After half a day of processing, Shirin has now completely calmed down and no longer feels inexplicable fear.
She not only realized that she could crush the man in front of her with one hand, but also understood that he posed no threat.
He's hard to call a good person, but at least he's not a bad person who takes advantage of others in distress.
Fear often stems from one's own weakness and powerlessness, and from the unknown.
Shirin is not weak, and she is no longer afraid.
Even though she was being held in the arms of a shirtless man, she no longer felt panic or resistance; instead, she felt a sense of warmth and nostalgia.
The last time I was held in someone's arms like this was more than two hundred years ago, when my parents were still alive.
Xilin says she's used to being alone, but does she really not crave this kind of warmth at all?
The answer is obvious.
She hesitated for a moment, but finally raised her arms and wrapped them around Ning Feng's waist.
With her head down and eyes closed, Shirin spoke softly:
“...Shireen.”
She hadn't uttered her name in a long time, and she told the man in front of her that it was a little strange to herself.
But at least for this moment, while he held her in his arms, she didn't want to utter any words of deception.
"Thank you, Shirin."
Feeling the sensation in his waist, Ning Feng breathed a sigh of relief and said with a smile:
"Thank you for forgiving my rudeness."
As he released Xilin, Ning Feng gently kissed the tip of her ear.
"ah!"
Like being electrocuted, a strong shock pierced straight into Shirin's heart from the tip of her ear, causing her almost calmed emotions to surge again!
The two separated instantly. Xilin clutched her earlobe, which had been lightly kissed, her face flushing crimson, even her earlobe turning red. She exclaimed in shock:
"You, how could you..."
Are an elf's ears something that can be touched easily?
Don't you know what this means?!
you……
I don't think I really know!
Xilin sadly discovered that she had not told Ning Feng her true identity.
In this matter, there is a big difference between knowing it's an elf and not knowing it's an elf!
It seems I have no choice but to swallow this bitter pill...
"I'm sorry, I didn't expect it to make you feel this way..."
Staring angrily at Ning Feng's apologetic expression, Xilin wanted to explode but didn't know what to say.
call.
Taking a half step back, Xilin exhaled deeply, regaining her previous air of a wise and mature older sister.
If Ning Feng ignored Xilin's rosy skin, he might have believed it.
After watching Ning Feng for a long time without doing anything else out of line, Xilin finally turned her head and whispered:
"Stop... We can't push our luck any further."
"There might be some misunderstanding between us about this... Let's talk about it after we've calmed down."
"You can leave now. Let me have some peace and quiet."
She waved her hand lightly, then turned away, no longer looking at him.
Without making a fuss, Ning Feng stopped testing the limits of danger and obediently put on his clothes.
But he wasn't entirely honest; he deliberately made the rustling sound of his clothes so loud that Shirin would definitely hear it, constantly stimulating her senses.
After slowly getting dressed, Ning Feng felt that now was not a good time to ask about the function of the secret runes, so he bowed slightly to Xilin's back.
"Then I'll be going now. Thank you for taking care of me today."
Then, without pausing, he walked out the door and into the various machines.
On the surface, Ning Feng remained calm, but in his heart, he was silently counting down the time.
"Eight, nine, ten..."
Then, the corners of his mouth turned up, because he heard the words he wanted to hear.
"Don't tell anyone about what happened today, or I... I'll definitely teach you a lesson!"
Xilin swung her fist at Ning Feng's back, deliberately putting on a fierce look, but in the end she laughed herself.
She acted as if nothing had happened, and chuckled lightly in her usual tone:
"Let's go, Xiao Ningfeng, your teammates are still waiting for you."
"As punishment, remember to make me draw more blood next time!"
Ning Feng responded in the same soft voice as before:
"Yes, I understand."
It seems that everything will return to normal as before, with Shirin still the mysterious "witch" and Ning Feng still her "experiment".
But just before leaving, Ning Feng suddenly turned back and smiled at Xilin, who was watching him go:
"Perhaps, some things were indeed misunderstandings at the beginning."
He gripped the doorknob, stared intently at Shirin, and said meaningfully:
"But now, it's no longer a misunderstanding."
He solemnly declared, resolutely shattering Shirin's illusion that nothing had happened.
Some things can never be the same again.
Ning Feng admired the elf sister's bewildered expression, waved happily, and turned to leave the room.
"Shirin, I look forward to our reunion."
Clang.
Inside the room, Shirin stared blankly at the closed door, instinctively quickly adding several layers of defense to it, as if afraid someone might launch a surprise attack.
