Ning Feng changed his training focus to the command sequence two years ago, which was right after Jiang Wan awakened and joined the combat sequence.
Is there a necessary connection between these two?
The answer is yes.
Hearing all this, it seems like a melodramatic story of a genius childhood sweetheart who rises to prominence and leaves, while a down-on-his-luck, good-for-nothing simp abandons his bright future to silently support her.
But that's not the case at all.
Although Jiang Wan was transferred to another branch, the two maintained their relationship. They didn't see each other often but kept in touch frequently, and there was no scene of them turning their backs on each other.
Ning Feng made his choice for two reasons.
On one hand, Ning Feng realized that his combat skills had not improved for a long time, and he was likely to be hopeless in awakening and remain a reserve operator for life.
On the other hand, he did hope to help Jiang Wan as much as he could, but this was not out of affection.
Ning Feng only hoped that Jiang Wan could live a good life.
He didn't want to lose his family anymore.
But now...
Ning Feng changed his mind.
Damn it, from today onwards I don't know her!
How can a long-awaited reunion turn into a funeral?
Wearing a white lab coat, Jiang Wan pushed up her non-prescription glasses, a faint smile playing on her lips, and closed the book in her hands.
"Long time no see, how are you doing?"
Looking at the face he remembered most clearly, Ning Feng's expression faltered slightly. Instead of the excitement of a reunion, he sighed speechlessly.
“Who reads a eulogy in front of a patient who has just recovered from a serious illness? In a sense, this is bullying.”
Does it count?
"Of course it counts!"
Are you deliberately picking a fight?!
Jiang Wan laughed after seeing Ning Feng's speechless expression. Her originally mature demeanor softened considerably in her smiling eyes.
"I don't think it's too much; there's still a funeral dirge playing."
Jiang Wan took out her phone and waved the "Complete Collection of Funeral Music" she had prepared in front of Ning's cover. She smiled and looked at his speechless expression.
Ning's confused face - sealed. JPG
Okay, whatever you say.
With a shrug and a spread of his hands, Ning Feng silently conveyed through his body language: Fine, you're right. If that's how you think, then there's nothing I can do.
Unfortunately, this provocative statement, which would have instantly raised his girlfriend's blood pressure to the brink of death and made her want to tear him apart, failed to work.
Because they are not a couple, not even in a flirtatious relationship.
Jiang Wan didn't care, and even laughed at Ning Feng's silent protest.
But this does not mean that the two have a bad relationship; on the contrary, the bond they have forged through mutual dependence is very strong.
They depend on each other for survival, a handsome man and a beautiful woman, childhood sweethearts—how pleasing to the ear they sound!
However, these two, who seemed like a perfect match to everyone, abandoned their promising romance and instead, after years of spending time together, happily drifted into a brotherhood relationship...
Screw love, loyalty comes first!
This is why Ning Feng wasn't worried and planned to use her as a test.
This is my good brother!
Jiang Wan simply watched Ning Feng's performance with a smile, then nodded encouragingly. She then casually picked up the book she had used as a prop and began reading it with great pleasure.
Ning Feng: "…………"
You're supposed to play along with my act, pretending not to see anything?
"So, you called me over just to bully me?"
Are you a villain from somewhere?
“Bullying? I don’t have that kind of twisted sense of humor.”
Jiang Wan turned the book over and placed it on the table, finally suppressing her smile, and spoke seriously:
"Have you ever thought that our reunion almost turned out the way it did just now?"
Separated by life and death.
Jiang Wan stepped forward and straightened his clothes. Looking at Ning Feng, who was gradually stiffening, she gently asked:
"You should know this better than I do, right? Especially when you wrote your will, I'm really grateful that you still remembered me."
Although her tone was incredibly gentle, the resentment in her words was unmistakable.
Ning Feng pursed his lips, wanting to say something in his own defense, but in the end he couldn't bring himself to say it, and could only turn his head slightly away and say:
"Aren't you the same in this respect?"
Ning Feng is still in the command sequence, but Jiang Wanke has indeed been in the combat sequence for two years, and she has faced death far more times than Ning Feng.
In terms of past worries, Ning Feng had far more than Jiang Wan.
“It’s different. You’re just an office worker. Those things aren’t your responsibility.”
He wanted to explain something, but after Jiang Wan fastened the last button for him, she pushed Ning Feng down onto a stool.
The slender wrists held no secret of their immense strength. Ning Feng gave up after offering little resistance and looked up, puzzled.
What are you going to do?
If you can't win an argument, you resort to violence, and you expect me to sit down so you don't have to look up, right?
With that in mind, Jiang Wan made her move!
She reached out and pinched Ning Feng's cheeks, pulling them outwards with a gentle but firm motion.
? ? ?
But Jiang Wan didn't explain anything, she just smiled and looked at Ning Feng's bewildered expression, then suddenly said:
Life is short, so seize the day.
Um?
Ning Feng raised an eyebrow, wondering what Jiang Wan meant by suddenly bringing up this at this moment.
"...What do you mean?"
"Stop acting cute, it's nothing, just a word of advice."
With an uncharacteristically gentle smile, the peculiar look in Jiang Wan's eyes calmed Ning Feng's initial desire to resist.
