"……What did you say?"
A voice suddenly came from behind, but this time it did not frighten Ning Feng.
Because in the instant he turned around, he sensed the other person's aura.
It's Shirin.
Neither of them had imagined that their reunion would be like this.
The two of them showed sides of themselves that the other had never seen before.
One of them, who should have been only a first-level Awakener, is now in grave danger.
At this moment, however, it displays a highly demonic form and even uses an unknown method to shatter a giant celestial barrier of legendary rank.
The other one underwent an even more dramatic transformation, displaying a formidable strength that belied her mysterious doctor persona.
The aura of legend was unmistakable at this moment.
But neither of them was in the mood to ask the other's opinion at that moment.
A terrifying aura emanated from her entire body as Xilin met Ning Feng's bewildered and confused gaze.
Why?
Why are you stopping me?
Ning Feng simply couldn't understand the current situation. No matter how he thought about it, Shirin, the legend of the Watchers, shouldn't be the one to step forward and stop him.
Could it be that my demonic bloodline and appearance make her feel threatened?
Should we take the initiative to curb this destabilizing factor ourselves?
Already filled with unease, Ning Feng didn't think twice and asked directly:
Is it because of my current appearance that you feel you can't trust me?
At this moment, Xilin's brows furrowed, her expression filled with disbelief and complexity; she had never expected Ning Feng to think this way.
"That's not the reason. We'll talk about your situation later. Right now..."
Her lips twitched, but Shirin ultimately didn't explain. She pursed her lips and continued:
"Now is not the time for you to get involved; others have already taken care of it."
"It's all over now. You've given so much, and what you need most right now is rest."
With a deep-seated sense of grievance, Xilin gritted her teeth and finished speaking before turning to leave.
But Ning Feng grabbed his wrist!
"That's not the real reason!"
Specialized matters should be handled by professionals. I'm in a very bad state right now, and I really shouldn't be causing trouble.
The logic seemed correct, but Ning Feng felt deceived.
"You can sense what's happening over there, right? Are you telling me this is over?"
Are you serious?
She moved her arm slightly, instinctively trying to break free, but she clearly felt the strength and seriousness coming from above.
She ultimately didn't pull her wrist away, but instead took a deep breath and said:
"Don't ask anymore."
“I am the branch manager of Bincheng, and this is my decision.”
After saying this, she abruptly pulled her wrist away, shook off Ning Feng, and was about to leave.
"So, is this an order?"
Without trying to stop Xilin again, Ning Feng squinted and waited in place for her to give him an answer.
Ning Feng awaited Xilin's reply to decide how to treat her in the future.
Is she really a woman Ning Feng should pursue?
Or is it an unreasonable entity that should be avoided as soon as possible?
He was waiting for an answer.
He wasn't a simp; if he wasn't that important to her, there was no need for him to fawn over her.
Things shouldn't have been this way.
They should have gradually opened up to each other through time, and then slowly revealed their special qualities...
But this unexpected event has brought everything forward, to a point that neither of them can accept.
The difference in strength and status that the two had deliberately ignored was ruthlessly revealed by reality.
Ning Feng could tell that Xilin had her own reasons for not being able to tell him.
But he also knew very well that he had to go now.
In order to achieve this goal, he did not hesitate to force Shirin to make a choice.
At the very least, you should tell yourself the reasons.
With her back to Ning Feng, Xilin closed her eyes and whispered:
"What if... I said yes?"
"Even if it stops me, I have to go."
It wasn't acting; Ning Feng wasn't trying to create a persona for Xi Lin. His emotions were completely undisguised.
The aura of depravity on his body vanished in an instant, and he erupted with a frenzied madness that devoured people. No one would doubt his determination at this moment!
Silently, she took another deep breath, then suddenly opened her eyes and shouted irritably:
"Aaaaaah!!!"
"Ugh... This is so annoying! I'm done!"
Suddenly turning around, Xilin waved her hand at Ning Feng, and a two-meter-wide dimensional rift was torn open in the void behind him, instantly sucking him in and making him disappear.
"You still say it's not a misunderstanding! And you even yelled at me!"
Taking advantage of the fact that you bullied me before, how dare you yell at me!
"Don't I want to go?! This is so annoying!"
Xilin gritted her teeth, thinking fiercely about Ning Feng's astonished expression just before he disappeared, and felt a little amused.
"Fine, since it's already against the rules, I'm going anyway!"
Shirin reached out again to try and create space, but strangely nothing happened.
Her face instantly darkened. She squinted, looking around until she found a secluded spot, and asked:
"You're still stopping me now? Why didn't you stop him earlier?"
Even though there was no one there, Shirin put on a listening expression, her brows furrowing even deeper.
Xilin's expression grew increasingly grim, her hands clenched so tightly that her knuckles turned white.
