Chapter Sixty-Three: He, Too, Came from the Abyss

The expressions on Rhoda's and the Shadow Demon's faces froze at the same moment, because they both saw a hand.

A hand passes through the chest and grasps the beating heart.

!!

With a forceful pull of his long, slender fingers stained with dark red blood, the heart in his palm shattered instantly.

Fresh blood gushed out.

Hot blood spurted out, splattering on Rhoda's body and legs...

And on his face, even in his wide-open mouth.

"Ugh, ptooey..."

Thanks to a certain resistance to poison and an adaptation to the power of shadow, Rhoda's injuries were not aggravated by the demon's blood.

But the toxic blood still splashed into Rhoda's eyes before she could dodge it.

"Ahh!"

The stinging sensation burned his eyeballs, and tears flowed uncontrollably, making it difficult for him to see what was happening in front of him.

Has reinforcements arrived?

The situation on the field had clearly taken a turn for the better, but Rodda was not at ease.

No, it might not be reinforcements who have arrived...

Rhoda had a feeling.

Behind the shadow demon, there seems to be something even more evil and dangerous!

Cold, violent, greedy...

The other party didn't save him willingly; it was more like they happened to spot the demon that attacked him while hunting.

The demon who toyed with his prey has become prey himself, but one even more vicious.

"Roar! Cough cough..."

Click!

boom!

In my ears came the furious, desperate roar of the shadow demon, the sound of something breaking, and a violent tremor from the earth...

This doesn't feel like a battle between awakened beings and extraordinary beings.

It's more like two powerful wild beasts fighting...

Perhaps that's not right; it was a one-sided massacre.

One side is helplessly wailing, while the other side is recklessly venting its power.

Brutal and bloody.

Forcing himself to stay alert, Rhoda, relying on his last memory, closed his eyes and rolled twice to the side, avoiding the center of the battle and trying to get away from the battlefield.

If it's about providing support, staying away from the battlefield will prevent you from causing them trouble.

If not...

If we don't run now, what are we waiting for?

He got up, clutching his wound. Although his eyes were closed, his movements were not significantly affected.

Although he hasn't reached the level of blind combat yet, through long-term training, Rhoda has developed some ability to locate objects by sound.

Now he is incredibly grateful that he didn't abandon this skill.

"roar……"

He narrowly dodged to the side, and as he avoided a sneak attack, he instinctively plunged his dagger into the opponent's eye socket.

"Damn it."

With a forceful open of his eyes, Roda regained some of his vision and saw the pitiful creature who had died tragically at the hands of his instinctive reaction.

A green-skinned orc whose left arm has been cut off.

Moreover, it was Rhoda who chopped off its hand!

When it rains, it pours.

The dark creature that had just dodged has finally caught up with us under these worst circumstances!

With a furrowed brow, Rhoda made his decision after only a moment's hesitation.

Run back!

I'm definitely outmatched in my current state, so I can only hope that someone might be there to help me.

If not, then I'll drag these dark creatures down with me and live on forever.

"Cough cough...!?"

After running a few steps back, Rhoda suddenly stopped, even instinctively wanting to retreat.

Because the serious scenes were simply too shocking.

The shadow demon that had just been torturing him was now being choked and lifted up, its body dripping with blood that stained the ground beneath its feet.

The brutal shadow demon looked as if it were being crushed in the palm of a giant's hand; its limbs and bones seemed to have been crushed, and it hung limply at the bottom.

In contrast, the being that lifted the Shadow Demon with one arm was also covered in blood, but none of it came from itself.

Two menacing horns with a metallic sheen emerged from dark hair, and a tail with a scaly texture hung down to the ground behind it.

The figure, with its back to the demon, was bare-chested, its back etched with eerie scarlet patterns.

His figure was obscured by the huge, dark red bat wings, and only the cruel curve of his profile could be vaguely seen.

It was a thirst for blood, a yearning for and fascination with killing.

Adding to the aura emanating from this figure, there's no doubt...

He, too, came from the abyss.

The sky was shrouded in a dark red hue, and the crimson moonlight shone down, enveloping the two figures in front of them, giving the scene an eerie feel.

!!

Rhoda stared wide-eyed, trying to see everything clearly.

Are other demons controlled by the mastermind killing each other?

Or is he an awakened one of the demon lineage?

It's more likely that he's an Awakened One, but to be able to demonize to this extent, his strength must have reached at least the third tier, and it's impossible for him to be able to fight the Shadow Demon on equal terms.

unless……

He was toying with his prey.

Either that person's personality is inherently like that, or their bloodline has been severely corrupted.

Neither situation seems like a good thing.

Sensing the gaze behind him, the unknown Awakened One tilted his head back and looked at the critically injured and dying Rhoda.

Rhoda couldn't see the other person's face clearly, but that scarlet gaze pierced his heart like a sharp sword.

Contrary to his outward madness, his eyes conveyed only indifference.

!!

As he saw those eyes clearly, a strange impulse welled up in Rhoda's heart!

Knock knock!

My heart started pounding uncontrollably, and blood began to gush out of my body.
