Chapter Twenty-Three: The Succubus Hunter

The tense atmosphere was about to explode!

The soldiers, guns at their sides, had prominent veins in their arms, ready to pull the trigger at any moment.

Pointing a dark gun barrel at him, Ning Feng seemed oblivious, struggling to open his blood-stained eyes to see who it was.

"Is it... support?"

Ning Feng's hoarse voice rang out, sounding particularly weak against the backdrop of the non-stop wrestling.

Even though Ning Feng appeared extremely weak, the support team did not lower their guard; instead, they slowly approached with their guns at the ready.

They pressed forward nervously, seeing Ning Feng not as a companion awaiting support, but as an unsettling and dangerous figure.

This is the site where cultists offer sacrifices to the gods, and any place that can be associated with the gods should not be taken lightly.

Unaware of the other person's tension, nor realizing the danger in his own situation, Ning Feng continued speaking to himself:

"I didn't let the succubus escape..."

"The ceremony was not allowed to continue."

Ning Feng smirked in the direction of the approaching person, revealing a smile that could only be described as tragic:

"My mission is complete."

"After that, it's all up to you..."

Thump.

Before he could finish speaking, he collapsed and fell heavily onto the succubus on the ground.

This isn't all acting.

Having gone through fierce battles and used extraordinary items, Ning Feng had indeed reached his limit, both physically and mentally.

Besides the smell of blood, there was a faint fragrance inside.

Um?

What does this feel like?

no!

Don't think about it too much, it sounds a little perverted...

Even with Ning Feng's fall, the tense atmosphere did not lessen, and the support team continued to advance slowly.

They split into two groups: one group stopped the men and women around them who were still venting their emotions, while the other group carefully conducted various tests on Ning Feng.

The moment the result appeared, the team leader, finally relieved, shouted into his headset:

"Medical team! An operator has lost consciousness! Medical team, can you hear me?"

"Multiple serious injuries, massive blood loss..."

The sounds around him began to fade, and Ning Feng only remembered that he seemed to be touched by many large hands, but he was too lazy to resist.

Before he could even voice his last thought:

"I left my phone at the door, could you please get it for me..."

...

...

When Ning Feng woke up, he found himself in a very bad situation.

Just how bad is it?

It can be summarized in a few words:

[Bound], [Restrained], [Entangled], [Tightly Binded]...

oh.

Also, [hospital].

With his hands and feet strapped to the bed, Ning Feng was wrapped in bandages all over his body, only his head could move freely.

He turned his head and saw Yan Rulong standing beside the hospital bed, his face frosty.

It’s over!

It seems we should add the labels "boss" and "forbidden".

Staring at Ning Feng's nervous and evasive eyes, Yan Rulong slowly spoke:

"Awake? Do you understand what you're doing?"

A stern voice rang out in the room, its tone devoid of any threat, yet it made the atmosphere heavy.

Danger!

“I told you to get some rest, not to risk sneaking into a cult’s festival.”

Yan Rulong looked at Ning Feng, whose body was covered in bandages, his expression cold, suppressing his anger, and slowly said:

"Did your last experience give you unrealistic confidence? Did it make you mistakenly believe that supernatural beings are easy to deal with?"

"Have you forgotten how I taught you before?"

"Upon discovering the altar, you should have retreated to a safe location immediately after reporting it and awaiting reinforcements, instead of rushing in to fight it!"

"Battle is not child's play; you won't have that much luck to encounter! You..."

Realizing that his tone had been too harsh and not appropriate for a soldier who had rendered meritorious service, Yan Rulong paused and softened his tone:

"Ning Feng, you need to understand one thing."

"You're not yet in the official combat ranks, and taking risks in this kind of thing could worry some people."

They didn't name names, but both of them knew who was worried.

You can get lucky once or twice, but luck won't always favor one person.

Instructor Yan, who is usually cold on the outside but warm on the inside, is truly consistent with his words this time.

Upon receiving the news, he was filled with lingering fear.

I finally managed to get rid of that problem child Jiang Wan, and then this happened to you. Are you afraid you won't be able to get back in time?

Are you two teaming up to cause trouble and make things difficult for me?

Alright! You little rascal, weren't you going to jump around?

You dared to recklessly attack an altar of an evil god? Twice? And in one day at that?!

Perfect timing, I can finally vent all the anger I hadn't been able to release before.

Tough guy Yan Rulong completely transformed into Aunt Yan, unleashing his full power without stopping.

Faced with Instructor Yan's criticism, Ning Feng neither refuted nor explained, but nodded slightly with a sincere attitude.

Ah yes, yes, yes!

Yes, yes, you're absolutely right!

I admit that I was wrong this time, but whether I will change in the future is another matter.

After listening for a while, Ning Feng finally sensed that Yan Rulong's anger had subsided, and he finally spoke:

"Instructor Yan..."

Ning Feng was startled as soon as he opened his mouth; the voice coming from his throat was extremely hoarse.

"The demon's blood has burned your throat, but don't worry, it will heal in just one more day after treatment."

Interrupted by Ning Feng, Yan Rulong completely lost the will to continue lecturing and waved his hand:
