Chapter 34 The Future

Chapter 34 The Future

After he finished speaking, Mu Xu suddenly smiled, took his hand and said, "The answer is much better than I thought."

"Okay." Mu Xu stroked his head and said, "You're going to explode if you think too much. Don't think about it anymore. Think about it later. There's no rush."

He took Lin Jin's hand and said, "Let's go. The sun is almost setting, and it's dark and the fallen leaves are hard to step on."

The sky has turned a rosy red, reflecting the flowers, trees and the lake, making the whole world pink, romantic and magnificent.

Lin Jin had just started when he was pulled back by Mu Xu.

He said, "Teacher Lin, my shoelaces are untied."

As he spoke, he knelt on one knee and tied his shoe slowly.

The lake reflects the world clearly.

The handsome man was kneeling on one knee, while the one standing was pinching his fingertips, and the pink on the tips of his ears was brighter than the sunset.

Whether it is the mirror in the lake or in reality, the rose-red world is romantic and gentle.

Mu Xu tied his shoelaces, stood up, rubbed his fingers, and reached out to hold the dazed person's hand again.

Lin Jin followed Mu Xu around the lake, passed a sturdy heart-shaped tree, and finally walked across a small bridge over the lake and stopped in front of a forest.

The red leaves in the forest were as red as fire, dyeing the sky and the ground for miles around red. The fallen leaves on the ground were piled up in balls, soft and crunchy when stepped on.

The red leaves cover the entire road, extending to the end of the woods, which is magnificent.

Lin Jin stood at the starting point of the road and suddenly felt empty and ethereal.

He sighed, "Luckily I got out today. If the typhoon had come the next day, I might have regretted it."

Mu Xu said: "No, it's still possible to watch it even after the typhoon."

Lin Jin knew that he was talking about next year, and countless next years.

He didn't respond, but stepped on it, and then said: "Mu Xu, I wasn't in good shape when I was in college."

"Um."

Lin Jin smiled and said, "You remember it very clearly."

Mu Xu said: "Of course, then what?"

Lin Jin said, "I was a bit depressed at the time, so I didn't visit the school much. Whether it was the sunset here or the bustling leaves in the west district, it was actually the first time I saw it. Even the joy I felt in class today was a first for me."

He smiled and said, "Thank you, Mu Xu. I'm really grateful to have met you. There are many times in my life when I feel fortunate, and holding your hand on the bridge is one of them."

Mu Xu paused and asked, "Lin Jin, what do you think of me?"

Lin Jin said without hesitation, "Very good."

Mu Xu asked, "What if I'm not as good as you think? What if I did something really abnormal? Maybe I did something stubbornly, or took advantage of someone's unconsciousness to do something, or even lied to them? Do you still think I'm a good person?"

Lin Jin was silent for a moment, then asked, "If you really did these things, would you regret it? If so, would you do it again if you had the chance?"

"No regrets." Mu Xu said, "Yes."

The air froze instantly, the surroundings were silent, and the sound of leaves breaking disappeared.

Mu Xu just looked at Lin Jin quietly, waiting for the answer with an unclear emotion.

Time passed by little by little, the sunset disappeared completely, and the path was pitch black.

Lin Jin stood on tiptoe in the dark, raised his arms to wrap around Mu Xu's neck, hugged him tightly, and gently touched his head.

Question: “Are you scared?”

Mu Xu's eyes suddenly widened.

Lin Jin said, "Mu Xu, although I don't know what happened, no matter what the reason is, whether it's because of a reason or because you have no choice, in my opinion, if you were given a choice now and you would do it again, I think it's definitely not as bad as you think."

He said: "In fact, many small things will gradually magnify over time, and then be mistakenly regarded as something irreversible. So don't be afraid, and don't be upset about it. It's possible that what you did was actually a good thing."

"So, don't be afraid. And you, in my opinion, will always be the highest."

The woods are silent.

Mu Xu was silent for a long time, then she kissed his hair cautiously like a thief and sighed, "Lin Jin, you always give me an illusion."

"Um?"

"You always make me feel like I can be a little more willful."

Lin Jin smiled and said, "You can try, just in case."

Mu Xu closed his eyes, his lips pressed against the smooth hair, and he was reluctant to move away for a long time.

He hugged her tightly and said vaguely, "That's all."

Reluctantly getting up, he led the person towards the school gate and said, "Next time."

Mu Xu had thought about "almost" many times in his life, such as adding enough salt when cooking, writing in class, and wearing enough clothes.

But when it comes to Lin Jin, he doesn't dare to take any risks at all.

I was afraid that I would not be able to hold back and reveal my emotions to him, which would scare him so much that he would retreat back into his own corner, and in the blink of an eye, he would be back on the bridge, and there would be no way to get him back.
