Chapter 71 (Minor Repair)
The bloody storm in the physical sense ended with the annihilation re-creation device released by the Annihilation Tower.
Shen Jiandan calculated the design drawings, theoretical formulas, starting materials, replaceable materials, and tens of thousands of delicate and complicated parts purely by memory. When the laboratory received the drawings, it thought it would take a long time to measure and calculate, and the reported reproduction time was one week.
But after getting the blueprint, they found that even the smallest link nail claws were marked with size data. The leading researcher pushed his goggles, picked up the communicator, and changed the time in a deep voice.
"Two days, leader." The researcher stared at the blueprint with bright eyes, "I will issue a military order."
Shen Jian paused for a moment and gestured to the subordinate behind him. Two minutes later, the subordinate went out with a sealed file bag.
Inside was a blank military order and a promotion letter.
Late at night the next day, Shen Jian received the notice of the promotion order being activated in his bedroom. He curled his lips a little, which was rare during this period of time, and signed his name.
The subordinate held the document in his hand, knelt on one knee and half-saluted him, with his half-long black hair falling down.
Shen Jian glanced at his very familiar but particularly immature face, raised his hand and touched his head.
The subordinate was stunned for a moment. Shen Jian saw it, so he took his hand back. But his action was stopped because the subordinate then put his head under the hand that Shen Jian was about to take back.
On the third day, Shen Jian left the tower.
The sun is shining brightly, hanging in the crisp light blue sky, as warm as an ordinary but mild day.
But it was snowing, a blizzard. The annihilator absorbed the sand, dust and blood particles, converting them into cold artificial snow, which spread and hung everywhere visible to the naked eye.
Shen Jian sat on the ship in silence for a while, lowering his head and looking at the ground covered with white snow.
Shen An stood behind Shen Jian and explained in a low voice, "Snow dissipates heat and converts energy into frozen ice to fill gaps. Under human factors, it can be frozen for months without melting. The most important thing is that it is the only one that will not block the human respiratory tract."
"Although the interface temperature will drop and disaster relief may be more difficult, at least there is sunshine and air-raid shelters. This is the best conversion result among all the options."
Shen Jian slowly withdrew his gaze and hummed.
"Sir, where do we find him?" Shen An glanced at the unmanned driving seat and said in a low voice.
"Go to the brightest place in the forest." Shen Jian stroked the ring and answered slowly, "The place I have been looking at."
.
When the leader stepped into this shimmering realm, the forest was like a fairyland, with a layer of light mist swept away. The wide lake reflected the sunlight. Perhaps this was why it was slightly brighter? But how to explain the light at night?
Like wiping a mirror or removing the white film from a kitten's eyes, mechanical blocks appeared out of thin air and were constructed and inlaid. There was not even a trace of gap at the joints. Silver-white columns rose and fixed, and the long arched ground was dyed red pixel by pixel in the middle, and the edges were inlaid with gold.
A mechanical bridge with an eerily gorgeous silver-white color and covered with a scarlet carpet with gold edges soon appeared before the leader's eyes. The sky was filled with dense golden light projections of stars, just like the cheers and kisses from his people that the king deserved after crossing the gate of victory carrying the heads of the defeated army.
The familiar etiquette of ancient times, the familiar immoral aesthetics, are just like Solomon’s wild style that only cares about performance and not aesthetics.
Shen Jian commented in his heart and stepped onto the bridge calmly.
"Sir." Shen An reminded calmly, "Yanmian is under the water."
It was actually a half-bridge, which lost its strength and sagged halfway across the lake.
It's a dead end road.
Great, the king is on his way to death, isn't he? Shen Jian thought.
“Let’s go.” He looked at the small moves made by his subordinates who had already betrayed him with a half-smile, Shen An paused for a moment, and hesitated for a moment before he walked over to Shen Jian to explore the way, while his leader had already advanced a distance.
Shen An immediately followed, only half a step away from Shen Jian, his fingertips pausing on the gem on the hilt.
When Shen Jian stepped onto the last bit of the bridge where he could still stand, a dome-shaped glass staircase rose silently from the severed head buried in the water.
The glass door slid open quietly, revealing a glass table and a chair placed in the space that could accommodate more than thirty people. There were even exquisite snacks and tea on the table.
Shen Jian's throat rolled and he stopped where he was, trying hard to suppress the shame that was rising up in him.
And Shen An didn't think there was anything wrong at all, and even criticized it a little, "Why is there no cushion?"
Shen Jian: “…”
Shen Jian laughed weakly: “Let’s go.”
This time, Shen An slightly quickened his pace and entered the elevator first, then turned his head to look at Shen Jian and nodded slightly.
Defensive barriers still work in glass rooms.
Shen Jian hummed without much surprise, stepped in, the door slid closed, and the elevator slowly descended.
Shen Jian's sight suddenly sank to the clean, floating surface of the lake.
Thousands of colorful fish and corals invaded his pupils, and they kissed Shen Jian's fingertips through a layer of glass.
The elevator led all the way to a glass room with many flowers and rainbow colors. The pipe in the center slowly dropped down and the elevator took its place.
A man in a light white shirt and soft gray pants stood in the huge glass greenhouse, with a face exactly like Yun's, with a smile of joy and sadness.
Shen Jian walked out and said calmly, "Long time no see, Yun."
"Long time no see, sir." Yun said gently, "...Please put away your murderous intent. I don't have any force, and you have suppressed me so much that I can't walk, sir."
.
Last night, the leader’s living room.
"Before you leave, I have to tell you something." [Chen Jian] glanced at the young leader who was adjusting his thin gloves with his eyes lowered, his eyes filled with the not-so-strong wind and snow in the warm winter.
But it was indeed a blizzard that could kill people.
Chen Jian would definitely go to meet the subordinate in his tower, and [Chen Jian] could not stop him, even though he strongly disagreed, and even used the temporary authority of the Wuyan Tower as a threat in the end.
The leader gave him a ring and asked for a promise, so there was no reason for [Chen Jian] to hand over his command of the Wuyan Tower without saying a word, even if he did temporarily regard himself as Shen Jian's subordinate.
For a while, their relationship reached a freezing point over this issue. Even though they were peers, they showed a rivalry that was no less intense than that of half-brothers. They even stopped sharing an office or a living room.
Shen Jian was holding the report on the feasibility of cross-world projection in his hand at the time, and upon hearing this, he only glanced at the other isotope who was nominally older than himself.
At that time, he was still sitting in the leader's position, and [Chen Jian] was leaning against the desk, tilting his head and looking down at him.
[Chen Jian] worked diligently brick by brick to build the Wuyin Tower. Now, another person is taking advantage of all the credit without knowing what is good for him, but he has no intention of listening to the suggestions of his poor temporary subordinates.
Shen Jian did not comment, but smiled and slowly stood up, took a step back, spread his palms sideways, made a gesture of invitation, and directed [Shen Jian]'s gaze to the chair.
"Please. If you can solve a little problem." Shen Jian lowered his voice and whispered softly, with a little sarcasm quietly overflowing from his eyes, motioning [Shen Jian] to sit on it.
[Chen Jian] who really can’t solve the problem of Yun: …
Sharp, tiny blades were suspended in the small space where the two of them were, and the words pushed them back and forth, trying to stab one of them hard.
"My other isotope." Shen Jian looked at the motionless leader for a while, then he lowered his eyes while standing and picked up another document. He approved it with the leader's private seal in front of Shen Jian.
Originally, he had marked his own handwriting, but now he deliberately used the leader seal of [Chen Jian].
The smile of the peer who was mocked by him froze, and he looked at Shen Jian with gritted teeth.
"You handed the power to me yourself." Shen Jian said calmly, "Now, I think I have sidelined you."
Instead of you becoming my subordinate.
Shen Jian stopped reviewing, raised his head and stared at his expressionless self, his expression was very peaceful.
"How do you think it is possible that I will replace you like that leader?" Shen Jian asked calmly, "This is not even my Wuyan Tower. Why haven't you considered the possibility that I will abandon you after you have done your job?"
[Shen Jian] shook his head, “Don’t irritate me, this is not a good idea.”
"It's just a joke." Shen Jian shrugged and said lightly.
But none of them thought it was a joke.
[Chen Jian] looked at the young leader who was now adjusting his gloves and testing his sword, and sneered silently, but still said nothing.
He said that the current Shen Jian is a supreme treasure.
...Of course, after everything is resolved, [Shen Jian] doesn't mind having an in-depth discussion with Shen Jian about that threat.
He handed over a piece of paper.
Shen Jian hummed, took the document with his right hand, and handed it to Shen An naturally with his other hand without gloves.
Shen An was originally standing beside Shen Jian, his face was very calm, his hand fell on the sword. When Shen Jian's hand was handed over, he was subconsciously stunned for a moment, and subconsciously stretched out his hands to take it, but still raised his head slightly blankly and looked at the two leaders.
[Chen Jian] looked at Chen Jian with a subtle look. Chen Jian was silent for a while and said slowly, "He has only been with me for a few days."
So [Chen Jian] stopped talking, just shrugged and spread his hands, "I didn't say anything, just look at the paper."
Shen Jian glanced at him and slowly paused his gaze on the first line of text.
A piece of evidence supporting that Shen Jian did not write a script to destroy the world.
And Shen An, who was thrown off the topic, stood there for three seconds, watching the leaders of both sides talking, holding one of Shen Jian's hands, and suddenly realized something with a flash of inspiration.
He glanced at Shen Jian.
Shen Jian didn’t even raise his eyes, as if the hand Shen An was holding was not his.
So Shen An lowered his head with his heart beating, freed a trembling hand, and picked up the other glove. He put Shen Jian's fingers in, and the thin black cloth slowly covered the skin until the leader's hand entered intact.
Amid the noisy and accelerated heartbeats, Shen An put on the second glove for his leader.
