Chapter 160 The Battle Before the Buddha Temple

When disaster strikes, help comes from all sides. The nation's People's Liberation Army rushes to wherever the fire breaks out. Their speed and effectiveness are remarkable; as soon as a disaster occurs, the government immediately takes action and launches rescue efforts. Not only that, but they also specially arrange for mental health counselors to go to the disaster area to provide emotional support to those who have lost their homes.

The dark emotions stirred up by the demons were wiped out before they could spread.

Logically, what should have been accomplished with a major catastrophe was instead achieved by the demons stirring up trouble everywhere, yet they still failed to achieve the desired effect.

It's been a year since they emerged from the hellish place, and all parts of China are still thriving and flourishing. Although there are occasional disasters, they don't take these minor calamities seriously at all.

The demon was in tears: "..."

When did humans become so awesome?

What happened to your supposed ignorance and vulnerability?

Back then, whenever a miracle occurred, unrest would break out in various places. Let alone a miracle, even a small earthquake could prompt a monarch to issue an edict of self-reproach.

But now, as soon as the miracle occurred, a large number of diamond experts from all over the world immediately emerged to analyze this "miracle" from a scientific perspective.

Believe it or not, their analysis was so logical that even the demons almost began to doubt that it was something they had created, but rather something truly caused by the forces of nature.

This leaves no way for the devil to survive.

The demons were heartbroken, their hearts filled with tears, wanting nothing more than to run back to their demon cave and cling to the Demon Lord's leg for a good cry.

Now, their only hope lies with the Demon Temple.

As long as the Demon Palace is revived, it will surely lead the Demon Race to restore its glorious past.

However, their demon temple is now under the seat of a Buddha statue, making it difficult for them to even turn over.

We've gone off on a tangent...

Returning to the point, Silver Ring suddenly charged into the battlefield, and the demons, realizing what was happening, immediately launched a counterattack.

Silver Ring leaped onto a large tree beside the stone steps, creating some distance, and then lashed out with her whip. Su Yi ran to the foot of the tree and forced back the approaching demons one by one, making it easier for Silver Ring to act.

Ah Hui hugged a big tree, and like a nimble monkey, he climbed up the tree in a few quick movements. He also imitated Yin Huan, wielding the whip with great power and prestige.

Those besieging Silver Ring were mostly low-level demons, their attack power not particularly strong. Let alone Su Yi, Silver Ring and Ahui alone could easily wipe out a large portion of them.

The true peak strength of the demon race was almost entirely concentrated in front of the Luohan Temple. They were attacking the barrier wave after wave and had no time to turn around and support the group of lesser demons hovering at the foot of the mountain.

The main reason these lesser demons followed a group of greater demons to raid Luohan Temple was to provide reinforcements for the main force of the greater demons at the front. They would contribute their own demonic power to the greater demons when they were exhausted and weakened in battle.

Monsters are an extremely cruel race with a clear class system. No monster can cross realms. Before they grow up, low-level monsters are secretly food for the higher-level monsters.

They even eat their own kind; one can imagine how bloodthirsty and brutal this race is.

Even so, the little demons were happy to do it.

Yin Huan cracked the whip with great care, hitting the target every time.

However, despite her desire to smoke, she still had some reservations.

She also carried a curse that forbade killing. She wasn't sure if these demons, born from humans, counted as living beings, so just in case, she only crippled them halfway through their attacks, rendering them unable to move.

Yin Huan originally wanted to show off her power, but in the end... sigh, I wonder if NĂ¼ Hui was also forbidden from killing back then.

What were Nuwa's intentions in creating such a defect for her descendants?

Damn it, that's totally screwed her over.

Yin Huan's taboo against killing has been kept very well hidden. So far, even Huo Fei doesn't know that she has such a big taboo.

However, Su Yi, who had formed a contract with Silver Ring, learned of her situation from the Soul Imprint Space.

Sure enough, whenever Silver Ring weakened a demon, Su Yi would immediately flash in and finish it off.

The master and servant worked together remarkably well, managing to wipe out a large number of lesser demons in a very short time.

The battle on Silver Ring's side was completely one-sided. However, the battle in front of the Buddha Temple was exceptionally fierce.

Huo Fei and a group of high-ranking demon hunters were the main force, fighting fiercely against the demon generals in the sky. Meanwhile, the elites from various sects were holding the line at the barrier below.

The barrier around Luohan Temple was created by the Zhenyi sect in combination with the temple's Buddhist power; it is not indestructible.

Even Buddhist power is not omnipotent; it can resist ordinary demons, but it cannot withstand the continuous attacks of powerful demons. Therefore, whenever a crack is blasted into the barrier, the demon hunters inside immediately rush out of the barrier to stop the demons' advance, while the people of the Array Sect work hard to repair the barrier.

Because of this barrier, the demon race abandoned the battle at Luohan Temple and focused solely on defending Penang. After all, this barrier wasn't only aimed at demons, but also at monsters.

Author's Note: I feel like my threshold for angst is getting lower and lower. Today I was reading a quick transmigration novel and I actually cried. The first three stories all hit my emotional nerves...

Oh my god, I used to love angst stories, but now I can't stand angst anymore.

I'd like to recommend a Journey to the West fanfiction I recently finished reading: "The Days I Was Adopted by the Great Sage."

It's really good; the author has an incredibly creative mind.

Haha, personally, I prefer novels set in the prehistoric era.

I remember reading a book before where the main character was Tang Sanzang, and Tang Sanzang's master was a modern engineering student or something. In the end, it seems that the one who went on the pilgrimage became Tang Sanzang's master... That's all I vaguely remember. Now I want to reread this book, but I can't remember the title.
