Chapter 3 Successful Smuggling

...She had clearly been crawling for a long time, and her muscles were a little sore from all the moving, so how...how come she was only a snake's length away from the ground?

Could it be that I was dreaming all that time?

Pshaw, it wasn't a dream at all.

Silver Ring tilted its snake head, flicked its tongue, and stared at the door, thinking to itself: There's something strange about this door.

No, time is running out, let's try again.

Thinking of this, the silver-ringed snake leaped up and flew to the door once again.

This time, she learned her lesson.

The snake slithered a few times, then turned and looked down. What it saw... left Silver Ring completely bewildered!

Why is she still here? I must be going around in circles!

Thinking of this, Silver Ring slumped and fell off the door again. She looked up, staring at the door in confusion.

After a long while, a look of frustration suddenly appeared in her eyes.

A moment later, she snapped to attention, flicked her tongue fiercely a few times, turned around, and darted into the high wall outside the zoo.

Hmph, if she can't get in through the main gate, then she'll try another one.

She had just seen the white-haired man crawl into a small hole nearby, a hole that must connect to the zoo. She couldn't believe he couldn't get in through the hole.

Yin Huan was secretly pleased with herself, thinking she was incredibly clever.

Whether she was smart or not is another matter, but after circling the wall, she suddenly began to doubt her existence as a snake.

There are no holes, no mouse holes.

Damn, this doesn't make sense. Are all the rats dead? How come there isn't a single hole left? And the white-haired guy clearly crawled in through the rat hole down there... Where did that hole go?

How did it just disappear?

Just when she was about to enjoy herself at the zoo, she was stopped outside the high walls... Silver Ring wilted, listlessly swimming back to the iron gate. She stared at the gate again and again, then slowly crawled to the green area outside the zoo.

She needed to hide; dawn was approaching. Humans would surely pass by soon, and in her half-life as a snake, humans were her greatest fear.

The sky was already bright, colorful clouds appeared, and a gentle morning breeze swept by; a new day had begun.

At dawn, people rush across the sidewalk to get to work. The streets are bustling with traffic and noise.

Silver Ring watched the person walking across the greenery on two legs. Its snake body tensed, its gall bladder trembled, and it hid itself even more tightly.

If snakes can burrow, she might already be burrowing into the ground by now.

At eight o'clock in the morning, the tightly closed zoo gate creaked open from the inside. Immediately afterwards, two people in work uniforms, carrying a thick stack of zoo tickets, slipped into the ticket booth next to the iron gate.

Meanwhile, several men and women with children who had been wandering near the zoo also started to walk towards it, intending to buy tickets to enter and see the animals.

Silver Ring remained motionless in the green belt, its pair of snake eyes staring with envy and jealousy at those who openly entered the zoo.

She really wanted to go in too...

Silver Ring tilted its head, its highly intelligent eyes shifting in color, as if it were pondering something.

More than an hour later, the silver ring suddenly raised its body, as if it had made a major decision, and swam forward as if facing a formidable enemy.

When she swam to the edge of the green belt, she flicked her tongue, completely focused, as if preparing to hunt, staring intently at the passersby in front of her.

As a woman wearing casual clothes, a bright red shoulder bag, and a sun hat walked past her, she suddenly sprang up a meter high and, in a flash, slipped into the woman's shoulder bag.

In recent years, influenced by overseas trends, a casual mix-and-match style has become popular in inland areas. Many fashion-conscious women have fallen in love with these large shoulder bags without zippers... And let me tell you, these big bags are actually quite convenient for Silver Ring, who was planning to smuggle herself into the zoo.

The woman's shoulder bag was very large; it could easily hold ten silver rings, let alone one.

The silver ring snake is small, less than a meter long, and its body is not large either. If placed on a scale, it might not even weigh a pound.

She had just jumped into the woman's bag when the woman paused, turned her head to look around, saw the branch sticking out from her shoulder, pouted, and gave it a tug in annoyance. Then she continued walking.

Although she felt that the force on her shoulder seemed a bit off, she didn't take it seriously, thinking that the tree next to her had snagged her bag!

By a twist of fate, Silver Ring managed to smuggle herself into the zoo and was taken there by the woman.

She quietly huddled in her bag, not daring to be careless in the slightest.

After a while, she cautiously poked the snake's head out of her bag, wanting to see if she had entered a zoo.

Seeing the dense forest of trees in her line of sight, Yin Huan felt a sense of relief and thought to herself: We've finally made it in.

Having reached their destination, Silver Ring had no intention of staying in the human woman's bag any longer. Seizing the opportunity, while the woman was leaning against the railing, seemingly looking at something, she coiled her snake body and carefully slithered down to the ground along the woman's shoulder bag.

Having landed safely, Silver Ring hadn't even had time to celebrate finally entering the zoo when a terrified scream suddenly rang out.

"Ah—a snake!"
