Chapter 38 White Hair's Leg Pain

Huo Fei stared at the little snake in his palm, spouting nonsense with an air of utter seriousness, his forehead throbbing. He shook his head helplessly, not bothering to correct her twisted logic, and picked her up, preparing to take her back to the beast sanctuary.

Silver Ring flicked its tail twice, wrapped it around Huo Fei's wrist, and twisted its little head uncomfortably.

She glared at Huo Fei, secretly thinking: "You jerk, always choking me. Just wait, when I grow up, I'll choke him too, and I'll pluck all the 'hair' off him."

Huo Fei had been observing Yin Huan, and when he saw her eyes darting around, he immediately guessed that she was up to something bad.

He remarked that the little girl was quite lively.

Snakes are usually quiet and patient, so this was the first time he had encountered such a lively snake.

Huo Fei was always much more tolerant and fond of demons who didn't cause trouble but were just mischievous. He flicked Yin Huan's little head with his finger and said, "What kind of wicked idea are you thinking of now?"

Silver Ring was furious, huffing and puffing as she slanted at him: "Don't you dare flick my head! You'll make me stupid, you'll have to pay me back..."

Huo Fei chuckled: "You're not smart to begin with. Would a smart person spend all their time thinking about running to prison?"

Silver Ring glared at him angrily, her large eyes narrowed.

"I saw you were cultivating just now. How was your cultivation? If you encounter anything you don't understand, you can ask me." Huo Fei pointed his index finger at Yin Huan's little head and quietly changed the subject.

The essence of the sun and moon that this little girl just drew upon was extremely rich, showing exceptional talent. However, her cultivation method seems to differ from that of the demon race, and it's unclear whether this will have any impact on her.

He also suspected that she might be the reincarnation of a powerful being from the demon race who had fallen. Her inability to awaken the memories of that powerful being might be due to a mistake in her cultivation.

"I wasn't cultivating at all, I was clearly sleeping." Yin Huan tilted her head, dodging the mischievous fingers on her head.

Huo Fei lowered his head, a glint of doubt flashing in his eyes.

The doubt flashed by, and he chuckled, "Then get some more sleep; it will help your cultivation."

There's no rush. She's very wary of him. She'll ask him once they're more familiar with each other.

Silver Ring flicked its tongue: "My older brother said the same thing."

"Although you and Luo Mang are both snakes, you are of different species. How did you meet her?" Huo Fei subtly probed, trying to clear up his suspicions.

Unfortunately, Yin Huan was wary of him from the beginning, and even though he agreed to let her stay in the monster prison, her feelings towards him remained unchanged.

Silver Ring turned her head away: "Why should I tell you what I'm doing?"

"..." Huo Fei paused, looking down at the arrogant little snake.

Has this little girl forgotten that this is his territory?

Huo Fei stopped, his face stern, and said seriously, "Every demon in this prison has a file. Even though you said you came here voluntarily, you still need to be registered. This is a routine investigation. If you don't cooperate with the investigation, then I can't keep you here."

"...An investigation is needed? I've never heard of that!" Yin Huan's voice suddenly rose.

Isn't this just a prison for demons? Why are there so many rules?

Huo Fei nodded vigorously.

He wasn't lying to her; the demons imprisoned here did indeed have files, but... those files only recorded the things they had done.

People of Luo Mang and Yin Huan's status don't need that.

But right now, Huo Fei needs to figure out the special features of the silver ring, so he has no choice but to resort to deception.

Huo Fei's threat would be completely ineffective against other demons, but Yin Huan was an oddball. Upon hearing that the prison might not accept him, he immediately revealed all his secrets without even thinking.

Of course, before revealing her true colors, Silver Ring cunningly concealed the fact that she was a vegetarian.

What if this creature realizes it can survive on grass and stops providing meat?

Yin Huan felt that she and her older brother had a clean relationship; they neither bit each other nor committed any crimes, so there was nothing to hide.

Yin Huan explained herself clearly in a few words, emphasizing that she and Luo Mang had never gone down the mountain and had never harmed humans.

Only humans have harmed her.

After two trips out of the mountains, even the most confused Yin Huan finally understood that this world is one where humans are respected.

Every living being must give way to humans...

Look at all these demons in the prison. Which one of them wasn't arrested for messing with humans?

After revealing her true colors, Yin Huan's dissatisfaction with Huo Fei escalated.

This guy is clearly a demon, yet he's helping humans; he's practically a traitor to the demon race...

Huo Fei closed his eyes slightly, listening quietly to Yin Huan's words. As he walked, his thoughts raced. He finally concluded that Luo Mang knew Yin Huan's background.

The man and the snake left, and the forgotten little monkey scratched itself with its paw, stared at them strangely with its bright, watery eyes, and then hopped up to the green tree by the pond and chased after them along the treetop.

Inside the beast enclosure, White Fur looked at the demons who had been tormented by his Buddhist scriptures and were now all sprawled on the ground, a wicked smile spreading across his handsome face.

Haha, that was so damn satisfying!

I never imagined that these arrogant and powerful demons would one day fall into his hands.

That's awesome, so awesome!

This job is good... Okay, he'll take care of the chanting from now on.

Just as Bai Mao was feeling smug about defeating a group of giant monsters with his rat form, Huo Fei's figure slowly walked out from the end of the night.

"Ah Fei, you're here. Come on, let's go back and report this. You go and tell the demon hunters to get me a job here with you." White Hair grinned when he saw Huo Fei and ran over excitedly.
