Night falls, painting the world with thick ink; under the dim streetlights, a gloomy atmosphere pervades the air.
Inside the zoo, various discordant sounds arose from all directions after darkness fell. In the predator enclosure, all the monsters lay lazily in their cages, yawning, quietly awaiting the arrival of the white-haired creature.
After two days of being bathed in the essence of the sun and moon, the demons calmed down and abandoned their thoughts of escaping. They prepared to cling to the golden tail of the powerful leader of isolation and focus on cultivation.
Silver Ring swished her tail as she strolled out of the hut. Reaching the center of the cage, she tilted her head to look at the spider demon on her left, then pursed her lips, quietly waiting for Huo Fei to come and switch prisons.
The spider demon trembled at the sight of the silver ring, and its eight legs moved incoherently as it quickly scurried back to its little house.
During this period, she also benefited from the fact that the three legs that Luo Mang had pulled off had been regenerated under the nourishment of the rich essence of the sun and moon.
However, it was only recently repaired, and when placed next to the other five long legs, they look somewhat uneven, making it look a bit strange when it walks.
The spider demon was quite a handful; in Silver Ring's eyes, she was just a barber... However, she's been quiet these past two days.
There was no way she could stay quiet.
After Silver Ring's half-human, half-snake form was revealed, the spider demon put away any lingering fantasies. She felt nothing but awe towards Silver Ring; she could no longer harbor any other thoughts towards her.
After learning that one could also cultivate in prison, the spider demon gave up the idea of eating demons to recover.
However, she had a grudge against Luo Mang for losing a leg, so she would always find opportunities to attack the demons that had entered the cage next door.
Spider wasn't stupid. After being locked up in prison for a few days, she realized that Silver Ring seemed to be under Huo Fei's protection. If she dared to make any more moves, Huo Fei would definitely not let her off the hook. So, she changed her target and made a move on the monkey that always went into the iron cage.
Back in her room, the spider demon secretly rejoiced that she hadn't succeeded, otherwise... she probably wouldn't have even been released from prison before being punished by heaven.
Eating "Nuwa"... that's terrifying. She still had a great grudge to settle and didn't want to die so inexplicably.
Silver Ring swished its tail and chatted idly with Black Male next door for a while. It casually patted Black Male's big head a few times, then ran back to the hut with satisfaction, took out its own goldfish, and asked Black Male about fishkeeping.
Hei Xiong looked conflicted. He ate fish, but he didn't know how to raise them.
Since the boss was asking for advice, Hei Xiong had to give him some face. He grinned and called out twice towards the water prison, summoning the diving crocodile out of the water and asking him how to raise fish.
Crocodile Spirit: "This fish won't grow big."
Despite its name being a fish, this crocodile spirit is quite familiar with aquatic creatures. It glanced at the silver-ringed goldfish and immediately recognized its species.
Silver Ring was a little confused: "Huh, it won't grow big? I was thinking of waiting until it grew up so I could braise it."
The crocodile spirit's eyes darted around: "No need to wait for it to grow up, just ask White Fur to cook fish for you, he won't dare not to."
Silver Ring nodded: "White Hair said the prison is broke, a pauper, and they're going to cut our food allowance."
Hei Xiong: "He wouldn't dare... Don't worry, he won't deduct from yours, no matter who it is. If you want to eat something, just ask Bai Mao."
That damned white-haired bastard dared to mistreat "Nuwa".
Yin Huan curled her lip and ignored the group of ignorant demons.
Ah, today she truly witnessed what it means to "do nothing without money." As if she had thought of something, her silver-ringed eyes gleamed, and she swept her meaningful gaze over the row of great demons.
She pursed her lips and asked casually, "You've all lived for so many years, have you saved any money?"
Hei Xiong: "Saving money? What's the use of that?"
He Bai: "We are demons, what would we do with money?"
"That's right. We catch our own food and build our own shelter with magic. Money is just a dirty thing created by humans and it's useless to us."
Upon hearing the word "money," a group of demons immediately unleashed their contemptuous attacks.
To regard money as dirt, how noble... No wonder he has to eat grass leaves every day.
Silver Ring: "......."
Damn it, so all the monsters are penniless! She was trying to swindle them out of their possessions! Oh well, they're all idiots... They've lived for thousands of years in vain, no wonder they can't beat humans.
Silver Ring shook her head, ignoring the ignorant demons.
Disappointed, she swept her tail and went back to the hut. She needed to figure out how to make some money.
In the outside world, everything costs money. Without money, she couldn't even enjoy a steamed bun to her heart's content.
The group of demons were somewhat bewildered as they watched Silver Ring leave with a sigh.
Hei Xiong: "What's wrong with her? Is she short of money?"
He Bai: "It should be... Huo Fei took her out today."
Su Yi yawned, turned his head, and lazily looked at them: "Do you have any money? If so, give it all to her!"
He Bai: "Common stuff, who has that?"
Hei Xiong: "I can turn stones into gold. How about I get her a few stones to put in her pocket and spend?"
Huo Fei returned the golden core, instantly restoring the three's power to its peak. Such a minor spell as turning stone into gold is something almost any demon knows.
In the distance, a lovable black bear glared with its small eyes and said, "Ten years ago when I went to prison, humans used thin paper to make transactions."
Su Yi nodded: "Indeed, when I came down the mountain, those people were buying things with scraps of paper."
Blackie: "..." He's from Africa, so please forgive his ignorance.
The demons fell silent, all bowing their heads.
The night was deep, the moon was obscured by clouds, and the sky was pitch black, without a trace of light. As soon as Yin Huan returned to the house, the row of iron cages fell silent.
