A group of freaks spent the entire night at the internet cafe, and as soon as dawn broke, they emerged refreshed and energetic, a stark contrast to the drowsy ordinary people who gradually left the cafe.
As dawn broke, the rising sun peeked over the horizon, and a gentle breeze brought a refreshing coolness. Last night, Yin Huan and her companions had stopped in a small county town on the border of H province. Perhaps because it was so far from the provincial capital, the town's pace of life was slow, and the people living there all seemed to have a leisurely and unhurried demeanor.
Birds chirped and twittered. Yin Huan and her friends left the internet cafe and found a breakfast shop nearby to have breakfast first.
The group had barely sat down when three young men walked over, yawning. Clearly, these young men, like Yin Huan and his friends, had spent the entire night playing games in the internet cafe.
"Boss, three baskets of steamed buns and three bowls of porridge."
A group of young people entered the shop, called out to the owner, and then sat down at the table in front of Yin Huan and the others, starting to discuss the game.
"Ahui, didn't you say you were going to run errands for your dad back home this summer? Why did you come to Mao County to find me?" After discussing the game, one of the short-haired youths asked his companion sitting opposite him.
"Don't even mention it, it brings back so many bitter tears. Let's eat, and after that, I'll go to your place to sleep. I still have to drive to my cousin's house this afternoon." The young man called Ahui paused, his chopsticks catching in his throat, and his face turned grim.
Mentioning this incident fills Ahui with dread. A few days ago, several monsters entered his hometown, nearly scaring him out of his wits. The Taoist priest Song, who had left the town, advised him not to spread the word, lest it cause panic.
After the Taoist priest left, he was terrified, so he went to find Afang. After all, they had seen a ghost and a demon together, and having someone to talk to could ease the tension. But when he arrived, he discovered that Afang remembered nothing. Not only that, she also chased him out of the hotel with a broom, accusing him of spreading superstition.
Ah Hui was heartbroken. The Taoist priest had said this matter couldn't be publicized, so he could only keep it to himself. For several days, he was restless, fearing that the demons would suddenly return and capture and eat him.
Although the Taoist priest said those demons didn't eat people...
He suffered from insomnia for several nights, sporting dark circles under his eyes, unable to eat or sleep properly. His father, unable to bear it any longer, pressed him for an explanation. Terrified, he finally told his father about the existence of demons in the world.
His father was the town mayor and had served in the army when he was young. Although he had always lived in the real world, he had still heard about these kinds of ghost stories. Besides, it wasn't hard to believe that another monster would appear in Afang's house in town, which was already haunted. After listening to Ahui's words, his father packed his bags without saying a word and told him to leave home immediately and go to H province to find his cousin.
It's said that his cousin has a strong birth chart and a godmother who belongs to some Taoist association. His father told him to go to his cousin's godmother to see if he could get a talisman or something.
Ahui's father felt that given his son's situation, it would be best for him to go away and avoid the area for a year or two before returning.
This is easy to arrange. Ahui is a sophomore in college. He'll go hide at his cousin's house for two months, then go back to school when classes start. He won't return to the small town before graduating. That should keep him away from those monsters.
So, Ahui drove his beat-up car, packed his belongings, and set off from the small town towards H province. Passing through Mao County, he remembered that two of his classmates were from there, so he called them to arrange a get-together.
He was under too much pressure; he needed to relax.
"Stay for two days before you leave, you have nothing to do during the summer vacation anyway." When Ahui heard that he was leaving Maoxian that afternoon, he immediately tried to persuade him to stay.
Ahui shook his head: "No, I need to go see my cousin about something."
After a moment of silence, the group resumed their meal.
Yin Huan, who was engrossed in eating a steamed bun, flicked her tail at a green python after the others stopped talking and whispered, "Look, isn't that guy at that table with the Taoist priest at the hotel? He's a Taoist priest, right? Is he also very rich?"
In Yinhuan, those who walk with Taoist priests are all wealthy people. So, the moment he saw Ahui, his little head instinctively thought of the six million he had gotten from the Taoist priest.
No one ever complains about having too much money, not even demons.
Sure enough, upon seeing Ah Hui, Yin Huan's mind immediately conjured up a mischievous idea.
Upon hearing Yin Huan's words, the demons all looked up and gazed at A Hui.
"It's that kid, but he's not with those Taoist priests. When the Taoist priests were attacked that day, I heard that his father is the town mayor, so he must be a native of that small town." Hei Xiong glanced at him and then lost interest.
Silver Ring was also a little disappointed: "Really? I thought I could rob the Taoist priests again."
Green Python: "Eat quickly. Once we're done, let's continue our journey. By the way, after we get to H Province, let's stay there for a while. H Province has many famous historical sites and several spiritual caves. When we get there, let's go and cultivate at those spiritual caves."
Playing is fine, but we mustn't forget the right path. They are demons; cultivation is the only proper way.
Silver Ring: "I don't care." She felt that it didn't matter where she cultivated.
As they were talking, Yin Huan finished eating. Seeing her put down her chopsticks, Qing Mang stood up and called out to the owner, who was busy outside the shop, "Boss, the bill is due."
As soon as his tall, thin body stood up from his seat, Ah Hui, who was eating breakfast, suddenly spat out the porridge he was holding in his mouth.
Ahui's pupils contracted slightly, and his body trembled uncontrollably: "..."
Monster, monster, monster... The monster has arrived at Maocheng!
"Oh, you still recognize us?" Hei Xiong turned around when he heard the voice. Seeing Ahui's frightened look, he raised an eyebrow and immediately had a mischievous thought.
