Chapter 80 Wangfujing

Several people drove to Wangfujing Street. Here, they can truly feel the prosperity and hustle and bustle of Beijing. The Beijing Department Store on Wangfujing Street was newly built after the founding of the People's Republic of China. On the eve of the Spring Festival, customers poured into the department store. The first floor sells daily necessities and home appliances, the second floor sells leather shoes, hats, stationery, and the third floor sells ready-made clothes, fabrics and other things.

After parking the car, they got out and saw the bustling scene inside the department store. They thought it would be inconvenient to squeeze in with the crowd if they took Niu Niu with them. After discussing for a while, they decided to go to the Dongfeng Market near the department store. There were also many people in the market, but it was much better than the department store. Li Tingting pushed Niu Niu away from the crowd, tightened the rope, picked up Niu Niu again, and walked into the Dongfeng Market.

Most of the items sold in the market are non-staple foods, as well as fresh vegetables and fruits. I walked into the market while looking at them. If I came across something that was not on the list, I would buy it directly. When I walked into the market, the most excited person was Niu Niu. Looking at so many delicious foods, she excitedly twisted her little body in her mother's arms, wanting to eat this and that. People were coming and going, and Li Tingting almost couldn't hold Niu Niu's twisting body. She could only pat the little girl's little butt to ask her to be quiet, and then told Gu's mother to buy some snacks for the little girl. Niu Niu only calmed down after eating.

After coming out of the market, even though the temperature in Beijing is extremely low in winter, several adults are sweating. Seeing this scene, Su Nuan discussed with everyone and asked Gu's mother and Li Tingting to go to the department store to buy some winter clothes for the family. Su Nuan took Gu Huanhuan and Niuniu to the pastry shop to buy some cakes. Everyone agreed that if a group of people squeezed in together, they would not be able to take care of the children.

Gu Huanhuan was very considerate. She took Niu Niu from Li Tingting, tied her to herself, and followed Su Nuan to the dim sum shop. Su Nuan asked Gu Huanhuan about the types of dim sum that Gu's family usually sold, and bought a few of them directly. The task was over quickly. She didn't have the leisure to look at or taste the others. There were people everywhere, and it was a crowded situation. Su Nuan really couldn't adapt to it. After quickly buying things, she took Gu Huanhuan and Niu Niu to find a teahouse opposite the department store.

The three of them found a conspicuous spot. Su Nuan ordered hot tea and some snacks, and while eating, she watched to see if Gu's mother and Gu's second sister-in-law had come out from the department store opposite. It had been almost half the morning since they left home, and they had been shopping non-stop. Su Nuan, who had been living a life of luxury, felt weak in her legs and a little tired when she sat down to rest. Gu Huanhuan also looked a little tired because she had to take care of Niu Niu. Only the little girl Niu Niu was happily eating pastries, and she seemed to be in a very good mood.

The three of them sat there for about twenty minutes when they saw Gu's mother and Gu's second sister-in-law, who were carrying large and small bags of things out of the department store. Su Nuan told Gu Huanhuan to take good care of Niuniu, then got up and walked across the street, taking the two of them to a teahouse, where they sat down to rest and drink some hot tea.

After they sat down, they drank two cups of tea before speaking.

Mother Gu: "There are too many people here, buying things is like free money"

Li Tingting: "Yes, I saw some people scrambling to buy things and getting into an argument."

Su Nuan was stunned when she heard this. "It's not possible, fighting over something to buy something?"

Gu Huanhuan: "Sister Xiaonuan, you don't know that although the economy is open now, supplies are still scarce, especially during the Spring Festival. No matter if you have money or not, everyone wants to buy something to celebrate the New Year."

Su Nuan: "I see."

Mother Gu: "Yes, the Spring Festival is very important to us Chinese people. No matter what our family situation is, we will buy something for the New Year."

After sitting down to drink tea and rest for a while, they drove back to the compound.
