Chapter 517: Nursing Staff in the Infected Area
The door to the ward was pushed open, and Tang Su felt like he had entered another world the moment he walked in.
The first place she entered was not the inpatient area, but a disinfection area. After passing through this area, Tang Su arrived at the first ward of the infectious disease department.
There are 42 wards with a total of 126 beds, and currently there are only a dozen empty beds.
Tang Su took out her notebook and looked at what she had to do this morning: First, she needed to go to wards 1-20 to distribute breakfast. Then she had to pour a glass of water for each patient, and then she was responsible for disinfecting the doors, windows, cabinets, bed rails, TVs and other areas of wards 1-10. After that, she also had to distribute lunch to the patients at 12 o'clock.
The workload is huge, and one must be meticulous in the work without making any mistakes.
Tang Su moved the foam box containing breakfast to the corridor outside the ward, and then she began to distribute the breakfast.
Tang Su took a look and saw that today's breakfast was a bowl of millet porridge and ten dumplings. Everyone had the same breakfast.
Tang Su first pushed open the door of Ward 1 and walked in carrying three breakfasts.
She looked at the three patients in the ward, two of whom were grandmothers in their sixties, and the other was a middle-aged woman in her forties.
Tang Su didn't say anything either. She put the breakfast on the cabinet next to the ward and walked out.
Afterwards, she went to Ward 2.
Ward 2 also houses female patients, all of whom are middle-aged and elderly.
One of them seemed to be almost 80 years old.
Tang Su looked at the old lady and felt that she seemed to be very ill. She lay motionless on the bed. When she went to bring her breakfast, the old lady did not respond at all.
"This grandma hasn't eaten for two days?"
Suddenly, a patient in the next bed pointed at the old lady and said.
Tang Su took out a pen and paper from his pocket and wrote down the situation of bed number 5.
She didn't say anything and just turned and walked out.
Afterwards, Tang Su distributed breakfast to other wards. She did not talk to any of the patients, nor did she stay in the ward for long. She basically just put down breakfast and left.
However, Tang Su saw that many patients were wearing oxygen masks, and some were even on ventilators, and many of them were critically ill.
Tang Su thought of her grandmother at this time. Her grandmother was an undiagnosed suspected patient and was currently being treated in Ward 2, and she had no way to go to Ward 2.
After distributing breakfast, Tang Su looked at the clock in the corridor. It was already 8:30 in the morning.
Tang Su then began to pour water for each patient.
The water cup was a disposable paper cup, but after pouring the water, Tang Su still needed to cover the cup with plastic wrap and then insert a straw.
It's a very simple thing, but it's very time-consuming to do because there are 60 beds in 20 wards and she needs to receive 60 cups.
It was almost half past nine when Tang Su finished the task.
Then comes the disinfection work.
During the training for this job yesterday, the nurse personally demonstrated how to disinfect, and she still remembers all the processes and steps.
Tang Su started again from Ward No. 1. She held the disinfectant in one hand and a disposable rag in the other and began to disinfect.
In school, many students would clean the place together, but here she was alone and she had to complete the task by herself.
After finishing, Tang Su came to the corridor. At this time, she saw the other two nurses who came in with her. They waved at her and pointed to the hall, where the patients' lunch had been delivered.
