Chapter 987 Lecture at the University

Chapter 987: Lectures at the University

After returning to the dormitory, Tang Su took a nap.

There were no classes in the afternoon, but Tang Su and his roommates went to the conference hall on the first floor of the Information College Comprehensive Building.

There are lectures at Qingda University almost every day, sometimes several in a day.

The school will publish information related to the lecture on its official website, including the start time, the lecturer, and the topic of the lecture.

Tang Su would attend lectures when he had free time, especially those given by famous teachers. Tang Su would not only attend lectures from his department, but also lectures sponsored by other colleges.

When he arrived at the conference hall, Tang Su saw that all 300 seats were occupied. Tang Su and several of his roommates had to move a bench and sit at the back.

"If we had known there would be so many people, we would have come earlier," said Qiu Xiao.

"Yes, the positions are all taken by students from other departments," Cai Yalin replied.

Tang Su looked at the stage in front of him. The big screen on the stage displayed relevant information about the lecture: The theme of the lecture was: How big data can be integrated with the industrial chain.

Speaker: Zhou Tao (Director of Information Department of Fengyun Technology)

Time: 2:30-4:00 p.m., March 19.

There were still about ten minutes before the lecture started, and Tang Su saw more and more students pouring into the hall, with many even standing at the door.

Tang Su thought that the reason why so many people came to this lecture was probably because today's lecturer, Mr. Zhou, was a real technician.

Unlike some previous lectures which were basically given by professors from the college, some of the content they talked about was not that new.

There is still a big difference between teachers who teach in schools and technical backbone talents who work independently in enterprises.

After a while, Tang Su saw Teacher Zhou Tao, a very young teacher. Tang Su even felt that he was only in his twenties from a distance.

He was wearing a windbreaker and glasses, and looked gentle and refined.

"I didn't expect so many people to come today. It seems that next time I come, I will have to speak in the auditorium."

Unlike other teachers who would greet and introduce themselves right away, Teacher Zhou seemed to treat this place as a business.

“My fellow juniors, I am very happy today because I have returned to my alma mater, Qinghua University. I am your senior from the class of 2014. You can just call me senior, don’t call me teacher, and don’t call me old.” Teacher Zhou said happily after taking the stage.

After he finished speaking, there was warm applause. Then he got to the point:

"Students, the era of big data has arrived, and it has been here for more than ten years. How to cope with the challenges and opportunities brought by the data era is a serious issue that our contemporary college students, especially those graduating from computer majors, have to face. At the beginning of this century, some experts and scholars called this century the "Information Century." Indeed, after the rapid development of computer technology and Internet technology, we are facing an era of information explosion every day. Turn on the TV, turn on the computer, turn on the mobile phone, tablet, etc., you can receive all kinds of information uploaded from all over the world on the Internet: pictures, videos, data, etc...."

Tang Su listened carefully. She didn't think that listening to the lecture would help her learn any knowledge or skills, but that it would help her understand the current situation of the industry and the profession.

They have been studying hard in school and have never really entered society, so they don't know the current competition situation in the industry.
