Chapter 33

Chapter 33

Chen Zhiyu is acting like a madman today.

Josh didn't let him succeed, covering his mouth with her hand. "Are you never going to stop? You haven't explained things clearly yet."

"What's up?"

"Playing dumb?" Josh narrowed his eyes.

Chen Zhiyu was stunned by Qiao Xi's gaze and immediately understood what she meant. Even if he didn't tell her, she would find out the truth from others, so she had no choice but to tell the truth.

The reason was actually quite simple: it was a provocation from Liu Weifeng's work rival. What started as a verbal dispute escalated into a physical altercation.

Fortunately, the police were called in time, preventing a more serious problem from occurring.

Chen Zhiyu stayed in the hospital for a few days. After confirming that there were no further problems, he was discharged. He only needed to follow the doctor's instructions and take his medication on time.

Besides the injury on his left arm, Chen Zhiyu also suffered some bumps and bruises on his forehead, but fortunately, it was nothing serious. Once he returned home, he was basically able to take care of himself.

Since nothing serious had happened, Josh took Chen Zhiyu home, settled him in, and then went to work without worry.

They had only just started dating, and Chen Zhiyu's enthusiasm was growing stronger and stronger. He was very clingy and always wanted Qiao Xi to spend more time with him.

However, the weather has been hot lately, and Josh has strictly forbidden him from going out these past few days. Going out in this temperature would make him sweat profusely, and if the wound gets infected, it would heal even slower.

So usually, Josh would prepare the meal in advance or order takeout for Chen Zhiyu.

The days continued like this until long after the beginning of autumn, when it happened to rain.

One autumn rain brings one chill.

After this autumn rain, the temperature became much cooler.

That day, Josh received a call from Chen Zhiyu right after he got off work.

As soon as the call connected, Chen Zhiyu on the other end of the line started rattling off a list of dishes.

Josh smiled after hearing this. "You can think about it." He's still on a dietary restriction list and there are some foods he can't eat. "Why did you decide to call at this time?"

Chen Zhiyu paused for a moment on the other end of the phone, deliberately taking two seconds before saying, "Because I'm already at your company's entrance."

"Um?"

Chen Zhiyu smiled and said, "Qiao Xi, I'm at your company entrance."

Before Josh could hang up, he heard this and quickly ran out.

At six o'clock in the afternoon, the dim sunlight fell, casting a golden glow on the empty ground. In front of the office building, Chen Zhiyu stood at the intersection of light and shadow, his right hand in his pocket and his left arm hanging naturally at his side.

Although the wound on his left arm has mostly healed, he still needs to keep it bandaged for a while.

When Chen Zhiyu saw Josh running out of the lobby, he smiled, took two steps forward, went to meet her, and naturally took her hand.

"How did you get here?" Josh's face was still full of surprise, her knuckles unconsciously rubbing his fingertips as she asked first, "Why did you suddenly decide to come over at this time?"

“The bus will come whenever I miss you,” Chen Zhiyu said.

Josh examined his injured left arm. "Did you touch the wound?"

“No.” Chen Zhiyu took her hand and suggested as they walked, “Let’s eat out today.”

"Josh, you're still here? I saw you running out earlier."

Just then, a loud female voice suddenly rang out behind them. Josh was startled and hurriedly shook off Chen Zhiyu's hand. She turned around and started talking to her colleague who was walking towards them.

At the dinner party, Josh's colleagues had all met Chen Zhiyu before, so they didn't think much of it when they saw the two of them being close.

Chen Zhiyu stared at his empty hands, feeling a pang of resentment. While the others were chatting, he leaned close to Qiao Xi's back and said in a low voice, "Am I really that shameful?"

Josh immediately turned his head, looked into his eyes, and whispered an explanation, sounding a little guilty, "No, it's just that I'm not used to it yet."

"Oh," Chen Zhiyu replied softly, then turned his head away and didn't say anything more.

After saying goodbye to their colleagues, Josh and Chen Zhiyu continued to discuss where to have dinner.

Josh was worried about his wound and couldn't eat spicy food or foods that might trigger allergies, which meant that the two people who loved spicy food missed out on a lot of the deliciousness.

The two of them finally chose a casual restaurant and ordered a few light dishes.

Throughout the meal, Chen Zhiyu's face remained expressionless, and he seemed rather uninterested, speaking much less. Qiao Xi could, of course, guess the reason. Her subconscious action had hurt Chen Zhiyu's fragile heart, but she herself hadn't gotten used to the change in status.

Before they knew it, it was the end of August. In just a few days, it would be the start of Chen Zhiyu's school term. Qiao Xi asked, "When will the stitches be removed?"

"It'll have to wait until after school starts."

"Does that mean we can't have military training anymore?"

"It should be."

"When you go to the hospital to change your dressing, remember to ask the doctor for a certificate."

Chen Zhiyu responded with a sound of agreement, and then fell silent again.

After the start of autumn, the evenings became cooler. After dinner, the two of them didn't go straight home, but instead took a walk in the park to digest their food.

There were many people in the park.

Seeing Chen Zhiyu walking ahead with a sullen face, Qiao Xi sighed, jogged a few steps to catch up with him, intending to hold his hand to comfort him, but as soon as they touched, he pulled his hand away and walked on by himself.

Josh stopped in his tracks, his voice turning serious. "I'm warning you, this is your last chance. If you slip away now, you'll really have no chance left."

Chen Zhiyu finally stopped and turned to look at her, his expression mournful, but he still obediently reached out his hand to her.

"That's more like it." Josh shook it with satisfaction.

After all, it was indeed her fault. After thinking about it, she added, "I'm not used to it yet, and I can't explain it to them in a short time. I promise I will take the initiative to introduce you to them later."

"You said that?" Upon hearing this answer, Chen Zhiyu stopped and glanced at her sideways.

Seeing that he had finally relented, Josh patted his chest and said confidently, "I said it."

“Okay, Josh, let’s go home,” Chen Zhiyu said.

The living room was dark, and before Josh could adjust to the darkness, a surging aura, like a ferocious beast, pressed down on him.

Josh was startled and had no time to dodge before his wrist was grabbed.

Chen Zhiyu pinned her against the door, his hot body pressed against hers.

He encircled Josh with his tall figure.

Chen Zhiyu's left hand hung naturally at his side, while his right hand supported the back of Qiao Xi's head, his slender fingers running through her soft hair.

His movements were effortless; his well-defined index finger deftly hooked the rubber band binding his long hair and slowly slid down.

His large hand moved down to her spine, hooked around her waist, and then lifted her up like a hungry wolf pouncing on its prey, forcing her to press against him.

The movements on the lips were gentle.

Gently knead and twist.

Josh's heart skipped a beat from the kiss.

"Chen Zhiyu!" she exclaimed in surprise, dodging the question.

Before she could do anything, she was placed back on the soft sofa.

The room was dimly lit and quiet, with the occasional sound of the refrigerator running. Whispers could be clearly heard in the silent space, flowing subtly.

Josh tilted his head again, trying to dodge.

But Chen Zhiyu acted like he'd gone mad today.

Summer clothes are thin, and the naked body touching the air immediately sends shivers down your spine.

Josh struggled to free his hands, but one hand had already moved first.

There were no windows open inside, and even through the thin fabric of the clothes, one could clearly feel the warmth emanating from the waist.

The rough fingertips were covered with a thin layer of calluses.

Under such stimulation, Josh finally couldn't hold back.

Realizing what he was about to do, Josh struggled to twist his body and try to escape.

But the wicked Chen Zhiyu was determined not to let her succeed.

He wrapped his five fingers around the warm waist and abdomen, pulling the person close and squeezing them into the sofa, continuing to demand more.

It was tinged with a strong sense of jealousy.

After the kiss, Chen Zhiyu finally let go of her, pulled his hand out of her clothes, and covered her up again.

They regained their breath, foreheads touching, feeling each other's emotions.

Chen Zhiyu's chest was still heaving, his eyes fixed on Qiao Xi. The room was still dark, and the faint moonlight shone through the window.

His eyes, gleaming with a wicked smile, and the slight upturn of his lips revealed his arrogance.

Josh lay on his back on the sofa, somewhat dazed. Now that he could finally catch his breath, he pinched the person in front of him hard and angrily scolded him, "Are you trying to suffocate me?"

The silence only lasted a moment; the restless passion in his heart was hard to calm. One kiss wasn't enough, and Chen Zhiyu lifted the other's chin again.

The scorching heat mingled with each other once again.

"Hmm."

Josh kept his head tilted back, his hazy eyes filled with a bitter mist.

Noticing the change in the other person, Chen Zhiyu's lips curled into a wicked smile, like a sly old fox.

The nimble fingertips, like mischievous dolls, carefully explore the secret realm.

At the same time, he kept pecking at Josh's lips, as if trying to wear down her patience.

All senses were extinguished by the darkness.

Josh was forced to endure it, his back involuntarily hunching over.

She was losing her patience, provoked, "No..."

Upon receiving Josh's response, he chuckled softly, then deliberately asked, "Don't what?"

His voice was deep and magnetic, each word like a tease.

"Josh, what's wrong?"

A tingling, electric sensation coursed through her body.

Dissatisfied with her silence, Chen Zhiyu let out a soft chuckle, deliberately drawing out the last syllable with a lingering hook: "Qiao Xi, what's wrong?"

The sound was like low chords playing in the chest, each syllable landing precisely on Josh's nerve endings.

Sensing Josh's evasiveness, he lowered his head and continued to apply warmth.

The heat inside gradually built up until it reached its peak, making the firewood burn even more fiercely.

Until the very last moment.

The pent-up heat finally burst forth with a trembling roar.

Tiny electric currents were still flowing everywhere and climbing up the spine.

Josh's eyelashes trembled rapidly, like butterflies fluttering their wings.

All the cells in the body were blown apart in that instant.

The explosion blew her senses out.

After a while, in a daze, she heard the person above say to her, "You'll get used to it eventually, won't you?"
