Chapter 31

Chapter 31

A few days later, Dr. Mori finally announced that I could be discharged from the hospital. I was very happy and immediately ran to contact Akutagawa and the old lady.

When I ran to find Akutagawa, I met his sister. She was very cute, at least much cuter than Akutagawa, and she was younger than me.

The little girl was extremely cautious, and only relaxed her guard towards me a little after her brother came back.

I was sad because my brother could always get women to let down their guard with his face, but I couldn't do that.

This made me wonder if my face seemed to be glued on by someone, which is why I am so unpopular.

Later, Akutagawa Gin told me that it was just because she had the most basic wariness towards everything unfamiliar at the time.

But I was totally unaware of this at the moment, and was seen by Akutagawa when I was doing a forward bend in frustration.

Although I didn't know exactly what happened, it didn't stop him from giving me a cold look because he was unhappy with me.

Because some people's faces are always filled with murderous intent, this vivid expression aroused my great interest.

So I quickly came out of my depressed state and checked whether he made that expression with that face.

Akutagawa was so annoyed with me that he wanted to throw me into the trash can, but when he thought about the fact that I had spent a month recuperating from a mere gunshot wound, he had to be patient for the sake of our business.

"If you keep barking, I'll chop you up and feed you to the dogs."

So I calmed down. Perhaps this is not considered patience for ordinary people.

I told him that people who open shops in Yokohama would choose safer places, where the fish sold would be more expensive, and that his expression was too fierce and might scare our buyers...

"What do you want to say?"

I obediently raised one hand, and under his murderous gaze, I took out a black scarf that looked like a rag.

"I hope you can use this to cover your face, because your original scarf doesn't cover your face very well... or smile to yourself?"

He looked at the scarf (a rag) in my hand and twitched the corners of his mouth.

I retreated tactically in fear.

"Are you sure you don't want to try this?"

“…Rashomon!”

In order to avoid Rashomon, I quickly jumped to the side

“Maybe, maybe we can go buy a mask!”

*

The cooperation negotiations went smoothly. After we negotiated with two more buyers using our usual unscrupulous methods, we went back to find the old lady.

But the old woman had a problem. Her old cold legs flared up and it was too late to help.

Leaving the sighing house, I kicked a stone on the roadside unhappily.

Akutagawa mocked me, "You are the one who has no plan to do things."

I answered him irritably, “Yes, that’s right.”

We all stood on the roadside in silence, and he suddenly said, "I can go fishing in the sea."

I saw a look of determination on his face. "I haven't brought back my winter clothes yet."

I thought for three seconds, suddenly smiled, and pushed him towards where they lived.

"I already know how to do it, but the profit is much lower than this old woman's... I can't afford to buy a house in the city center."

"You don't think I have no backup plan, do you? Only those who are prepared can always be more confident!"

"Are you kidding me?"

I stood up straight and raised three fingers. "I swear, I didn't lie to you. If I say otherwise, it will rain when I go out, I won't give change when I buy groceries, my books will be missing pages, my snacks will be bulging bags..."

"Now you can trust me, right? Well, your work is done for today, and I have to go find the supplier. Just like before, let's go our separate ways now."

He looked at me intently, but finally left.

*

After tricking Akutagawa into leaving, I immediately headed for the seafood market. Rain mixed with snowflakes hit me heavily, and the wind and snow were so strong that I found an old warehouse to stay temporarily.

I rubbed my red, frostbitten hands, exhaled a breath of warm air, and watched them turn white and rise up - like clouds in the sky.

This couldn't help but give me a very bold idea: maybe there is a cloud in the sky that I exhaled?

This almost out-of-the-blue idea made me laugh and my mood turned from gloomy to bright. I decided to buy an extra sweet potato and bring it to Yuuki and Chuuya.

Sweet sweet potatoes are perfect for winter.

Just then, I noticed a strange noise coming from a corner behind me.

Yokohama doesn't need people with excessive curiosity, so I plan to leave as soon as the rain and snow stop.

Until I heard a familiar voice.

Someone pushed another person to the ground. "Ouch!"

My eyelids drooped.

I crept up behind them.

"Hey, you're the one working for GSS, right? You're quite an amazing kid... Do you know how much we lost because of you?"

...No answer. What is this person thinking now?

"Boss, is he dumb?"

"No... maybe it's true? Never mind. You have to keep your life here today."

Still no answer. What on earth is that person thinking?

A thought occurred to me, and I asked the wind if there was anyone else here.

[No, how could there be any?]

[There is nothing in this place except a few large boxes that have not been used for a long time.]

"Big box" means container, they don't understand and can't use the accurate term.

So, he has no outside help, so what is his backup plan? They are about to take action!

"Didn't you say there was no danger?" I stood up, causing the group of people to look back at me in surprise, as if they didn't expect there were still people here.

Dazai Osamu smiled and waved at me, and I was furious.

Taking advantage of their distraction, Dazai Osamu jumped up from the ground, knocked down the man in front of him with a sweeping kick, and picked up the gun he had dropped on the ground.

For some reason, he switched his aim from the head to the man's shoulder, and fired several more shots at the man's abdomen and knees.

But other people had already reacted and they opened fire on Dazai Osamu. At this point I realized that I had caused him trouble.

There was no option to retreat now, so I threw out the dagger I had already prepared and stabbed someone in the head.

After seeing this, Dazai Osamu paused slightly and killed one of them with excellent shooting skills. After seeing this, they decided that Dazai Osamu was the one who needed to be dealt with first, so they all attacked Dazai Osamu.

I was very anxious, so I ran to the person I had dealt with earlier and picked up the gun he had dropped.

The gun was heavy, at least it was heavy for me. I tried to aim at a person and fired with trembling hands.

The recoil made my whole body numb. Although I hit the person, he didn't die. Instead, he focused his attention on me.

Very good, this is my goal. Although I cannot get rid of all the people, I can at least share some of Dazai Osamu's burden, right?

But no, except for the person I hit, the others didn't even look at me and kept attacking Dazai Osamu.

The man I hit got up from the ground and shot at me, but I was a little faster than him and shot him through the head first.

At this time, I saw Dazai Osamu was accidentally hit by someone, and his expression was indifferent, as if the injury he suffered was not an injury at all.

The wound slowed down his movements, and although he killed several people in succession, he was not able to avoid all attacks.

The blood was splashing everywhere, just like my heart was being pulled back and forth.

This emotion reached its peak when a bullet grazed Dazai Osamu's face.

I slowly stood up. The wind was spinning around me at high speed, forming a vortex that was even threatening to turn into a tornado.

“…Do you guys know whose brother that is?!” My brother is the one who is most afraid of pain!

*

The vortex suddenly exploded, blasting everyone against the wall - except Dazai Osamu and Dazai Suzu.

The enemies were knocked unconscious due to different but serious impacts.

This would have been a good thing, but Dazai Rong suddenly turned pale, spat out blood, and fell to his knees on the ground.

Dazai Osamu's pupils constricted. Now was not a good time to show concern for others, so he quickly helped his sister up and left.

*

…………

The flames crackled and they were now inside a container, fainting.

Dazai Osamu carefully wiped the blood off of Rong's mouth and loosened Rong's slightly tight hair.

Because he was by the fire and had done a lot of things, he was still a little hot. He wiped the sweat off his face exaggeratedly and let out a long sigh.

"Huh - this is really surprising." His eyes were complicated. "Fluff."

He glanced at his sleeping sister and nodded with satisfaction, "Sure enough, it looks better with your hair down. What kind of weird hairstyle is that..."

He didn't know what he was thinking, "I just happened to see some nice hairstyles recently, so I'll just practice with it."

"Hehe~ You won't be angry, right? If you don't say anything, I'll take that as your tacit agreement~ Once you've agreed, you can't go back on your word."

"So, this is why you messed with my hair?" The first thing I saw after waking up was Dazai Osamu's sly and enlarged smile, and I subconsciously touched the hair he had just grabbed.

I sat up from his lap to make it easier for him to continue and also to wake myself up, or to turn on the computer.

After a moment, he clapped his hands and announced that the work was done.

I don't know where he got a small mirror from, but he showed it to me and said in a cocky way, "How is it? Is it much better looking than your previous one?"

I tilted my head and took a closer look, and gradually my consciousness became clear. "...very pretty, like, like other cute little girls."

He immediately put his hands on his hips, pointed his nose in the air, and snorted heavily, "Hmm~" But then he reacted, "Rong is originally a little girl."

He said to me very seriously

"She is a very cute little girl."
