Chapter 3 Second Stage

Change out of your bloodstained clothes.

Fan Xin put some of the things in the supermarket into the space, especially all kinds of frozen goods. She even put away the refrigerator and freezer.

Soon, the entire supermarket was left with only human necessities.

Fan Xin walked out of the supermarket.

The streets were in a mess, with crashed vehicles, human body parts on the roadside, and wandering zombies.

The whole world turned upside down.

Fan Xin looked at the devastated streets with no expression on his face. He turned around and walked into an eyewear store next to the supermarket.

There was no one in the eyewear store, and no zombies either. Fan Xin locked the door and put all the things inside, including the containers, into the space.

The instruments for measuring vision were also taken away.

When the eyewear store became empty, Fan Xin sat down cross-legged and took out a few crystal cores from the space.

She was reborn as a zombie, and after going through the baptism of the apocalypse, her body was much stronger than that of an ordinary zombie. Fan Xin estimated that she should have no problem advancing now.

Seven crystal cores were placed in his mouth, and the crystal cores turned into a stream of water that slid down his throat. Huge amounts of energy instantly poured into Fan Xin's body, flowing through every corner of his body and rushing around.

If Fan Xin's body had not been strengthened to the point where it could withstand the impact of this energy, her body would have been shattered by this energy at this moment.

Even if a first-level zombie can't feel pain, it will still feel uncomfortable.

The energy collides everywhere in the body, and then little by little gathers at the location of the crystal core in the brain, and the crystal core slowly absorbs it.

Fan Xin controlled the crystal core and absorbed a large amount of energy. Soon, she reached an advanced state.

She felt a little drowsy, as if she was soaking in a hot spring, warm and comfortable, her consciousness drifting with the current, floating around with no place to go.

When Fan Xin woke up, it was already dark. His first advancement after rebirth went very smoothly.

She stood up from the ground and moved her arms and legs. She felt more flexible than before, but still slow.

However, there is no longer that feeling of sluggishness.

Fan Xin licked her lips, feeling even hungrier. She urgently needed human blood.

After reaching the second level, Fan Xin's control over his body also became stronger.

When she was at the first level, she might not be able to control her instincts when facing humans, but now, she believed that she could control it.

Coming out of the eyewear store, Fan Xin looked up at the sky.

After the doomsday, the temperature changed dramatically. It was extremely hot during the day and extremely cold at night. Now it was night, and a cold wind blew in his face. Fortunately, Fan Xin was a zombie and could not feel the cold at all.

She figured out the direction and walked towards the county hospital.

When she reached the second level, Fan Xin's hearing and sense of smell also improved a lot. She stood at the door of the hospital. There was no smell of human in the hospital anymore. This place had become the world of zombies.

She walked slowly into the outpatient hall.

The zombies in the outpatient hall were crowded together. Their distorted faces, broken arms, and bloody mouths roaring made Fan Xin frown.

So ugly.

Zombies retain their human appearance, but their pupils have turned a strange scarlet. They have no human consciousness, only the hunting instinct of wild beasts.

Fan Xin was an exception before her rebirth. After becoming a zombie, she did not turn into a walking corpse. She knew clearly who she was and retained her complete memories and emotions.

Fan Xin's entry into the outpatient hall did not cause any commotion among the zombies. Although the second-level zombies were also low-level zombies, these irrational zombies still had some instinctive fear.

They automatically made way for Fan Xin.

Fan Xin raised the machete in his hand and chopped the zombie beside him in half, picking out the crystal core from the middle with the tip of the knife.

Facing these fellow creatures, Fan Xin showed no mercy and continued to harvest their heads and take out the crystal cores.

First-level zombies will not attack their own kind. Fan Xin harvested them non-stop, and soon all the zombies in the hall were cleared out by her.

She walked past the zombie corpses on the ground and went up to the second floor.

The county hospital's laboratory was on the second floor, and the laboratory kept the equipment for blood collection. Fan Xin needed blood collection tools, the more the better.

The doomsday broke out relatively late, and there was only one nurse on duty in the laboratory. The nurse had turned into a zombie and was unable to leave the laboratory. She was roaring and causing damage inside.

Most of the testing equipment was smashed by zombies, but fortunately the blood collection needles, blood storage tubes and blood storage bags were still intact.

Fan Xin put the things into the space and looked at the nurse with some regret.

This nurse turned into a zombie when the apocalypse came. Her body was in perfect condition, without any wounds, and her facial features were regular. She couldn't be said to be pretty, but she wasn't ugly either.

More importantly, it is also a nurse. Once its human memory is restored, it will be able to help her a lot.

If possible, Fan Xin would like to take this zombie with him.

Unfortunately, she is still too weak now. She still needs to rely on disguising herself as a human to stay alive. It is too easy to be exposed if she keeps a zombie around.

Fan Xin looted a lot of equipment from the hospital, but unfortunately she couldn't find where the hospital's warehouse was. She returned to the first floor and went to the pharmacy.

There were two zombies in the pharmacy. Fan Xin broke the glass of the pharmacy window, climbed in, raised his hand to deal with the two zombies, and then put the medicines in the pharmacy into the space.

She cannot use these medicines, but humans can. Although the human body has been strengthened after the apocalypse and has a strong self-recovery ability, it is still mortal after all. It will still get sick and need medicine, and it will need medicine even more when it is seriously injured.

Fan Xin left some medicine at the pharmacy and left the hospital.

It was still dark at this time.

The night wind was very strong, making a howling sound. The street outside was in a state of devastation. An empty mineral water bottle was blown to Fan Xin's feet by the wind.

She looked down, stepped on the mineral water bottle, and left without any regrets.

Fan Xin found a car parked neatly on the side of the road, opened the door and got in. She pulled out two wires from under the steering wheel and started the car skillfully.

It was too cold and the engine was frozen. It took Fan Xin a while to start the car successfully.

She drove to the vegetable market and parked in front of the warehouse.

The first day of the apocalypse has passed. There are no living people here anymore, and zombies are wandering everywhere. Fan Xin did not attack these zombies. After getting off the car, she walked towards the warehouse.

She pulled up the rolling door easily.

The warehouse was quiet and Qin Yu was not there.

Qin Yu has always disliked things being out of his control. After the end of the world, it would be impossible for him to stay quietly in the warehouse. Fan Xin knew this a long time ago.

She went in and took a look. Qin Yu took away a backpack, some high-calorie, small-volume food, a small bottle of mineral water, a machete, and a down jacket.

Fan Xin put all the things in the warehouse into the space without any expression.

Suddenly, she looked down and saw a piece of white paper.

The handwriting on the paper was crooked. It was a letter she wrote to Qin Yu after her rebirth.

Fan Xin squatted down and picked up the paper. The edge of the paper was a little wrinkled. She could imagine Qin Yu's expression of disbelief when he saw the letter.

Of course, it is also possible that Qin Yu simply does not believe that the letter was written by her. After all, the handwriting does not resemble hers at all.

Fan Xin threw the letter away and walked out of the warehouse.

The vegetables in the market had been exposed to high temperatures throughout the day and were no longer fresh. Fan Xin didn't care and took them all away.

In his previous life, Fan Xin saw clearly how difficult life would be for humans after the apocalypse. Not to mention these wilted dishes, people after the apocalypse could eat anything edible.

The shops around the market were empty. Fan Xin bought everything from each one, including rice, noodles, flour, seeds, dry goods, and knives.

Fan Xin's space is large enough that she doesn't bother to sort out what is useful and what is useless. She accepts them all.

“Help, help!”

A woman's terrified voice came over, accompanied by hurried footsteps and the roars of zombies.

"Help, help me..." The woman's cry for help was mixed with crying and despair. It seemed that she knew that at this time, even if someone heard it, it was impossible for them to go out and save her.

Fan Xin walked out of the empty grocery store and saw a woman in a down jacket not far away. Her face was pale and she was staggering towards him.

Behind her was a group of zombies chasing her relentlessly. No one knew where she had attracted so many zombies, so that she had to run here in a panic.

The zombies wandering in the vegetable market heard the woman's voice and their scarlet eyes instantly looked at her.

They smelled the delicious scent beneath the woman's skin, roared excitedly, and ran towards the woman with their teeth and claws bared.

Lin Yu didn't know how long she had been running. She really had no strength left, otherwise she wouldn't have called for help at this time, because if she didn't call for help, she couldn't hold on any longer.

Instead of getting a response from humans, Lin Yu heard a series of zombie sounds in front of him, which made him even more desperate.

She didn't want to die, not at all. Her breathing was heavy and she didn't dare to shout for help. She tried hard to figure out where the zombies were coming from, then turned around and ran towards the direction where there were no zombie sounds.

Fan Xin watched the woman running towards her. Due to the intense exercise, the pores on her skin were wide open, making the rich, sweet smell of her blood even more intense.

Fan Xin smelled the delicious scent in the air and her mouth began to secrete saliva unconsciously.

The pursuit of power is the instinct of zombies, and the living power in human blood is an irresistible temptation for zombies.

As Lin Yu was running, he saw someone standing at the door of the grocery store, staring at him.

As if finally seeing hope in a desperate situation, Lin Yu's eyes lit up, staring at Fan Xin intently, reaching out as if trying to grab this life-saving straw: "Save me, please, save me——"

Her voice stimulated the zombies behind her to roar.

Lin Yu's face turned pale. He had been running for too long and his feet were numb. He lost consciousness and fell forward to the ground.

Her palm was scratched because of the fall, and blood oozed out of the wound. The smell floated in the air. Humans could not smell this little bit of smell, but the zombies behind Lin Yu could smell it. They were stimulated by the smell of blood and became more fanatical.
