Chapter 173 The Drinking Party
When Xiang Xin came out after finishing her long phone call, Lu Wei and Liang Hui's glasses were full of wine.
Seeing her come out, Lin Xi poured another full glass and placed it in front of Xiang Xin.
"Come on, today is a good day, Lu Wei is treating us to a drink," Lin Xi said with a smile.
It vaguely reminded one of Lin Xi inviting them to have a late-night snack together.
Xiang Xin received a glance from Lu Wei, then looked at Lin Xi's cup and said, "Why is yours milk, and with nuts too? Are you eating breakfast here?"
Lin Xi's glass of milk mixed with nuts was almost empty, just one last sip away. Lin Xi finished it and poured some wine into the glass as well.
The other three secretly breathed a sigh of relief—it seemed that San San was in a good mood today.
"cheers."
Lin Xi drank the entire bottle of wine in one gulp.
The other three were secretly exchanging glances, trying to figure out how to get Lin Xi drunk so she could release her emotions, but they didn't expect her to be so self-aware.
Seeing that all three of them were looking at her with their wine glasses in hand, Lin Xi, who had only taken a small sip of wine, raised her glass and said, "Cheers?"
While bewildered and forced to drink, Xiang Xin exchanged glances with Lu Wei: What's going on? How did we end up in such a passive position?
Lu Wei hesitated whether to drink it or not, but with Lin Xi watching her intently, she had no choice but to drink it.
The scene looks familiar, only now the subject is upside down.
Lu Wei winked at Liang Hui through the glass, as if to say: You know how to drink, figure something out.
Liang Hui seemed to have been drinking often before, as he finished his glass without any pressure and quietly gave an "ok" sign.
Lin Xi nodded in satisfaction, stood up and poured drinks for everyone: "It's true, we've known each other for so long but never drunk together. Come on, let me pour you some."
Back in his seat, he raised his glass and invited everyone to a toast: "Cheers!"
Xiang Xin stared wide-eyed as she was forced to drink another glass. She hadn't drunk much alcohol before, and after these two glasses, she was already feeling feverish.
That's not how the story was supposed to go!
She had originally planned to have a couple of drinks with San San, hoping that San San could release her bad emotions. Even if she couldn't, she could just stay sober and maintain order at the scene. She didn't expect San San to be so cooperative.
As Lin Xi was about to pour the third round of wine, Lu Wei coughed lightly and said, "Take a break, eat something first."
Xiang Xin's cheeks flushed: "I feel a little dizzy."
Lin Xi glanced at her with concern. She herself seemed unusually excited and eager to work. She stood up and distributed the drinks on the table to everyone.
She promptly opened a bottle of carbonated beverage for everyone: "Have a drink to calm your nerves."
Then he took the only coconut juice on the table.
Today is Lunar New Year's Eve, and many people at the base are having their New Year's Eve dinner. The supermarket is short of supplies, and when we went to buy drinks, we couldn't find four of the same drinks.
"Come on, cheers." Lin Xi raised her coconut juice and clinked glasses with everyone.
Xiang Xin felt the effects of the alcohol and was feeling unwell, so she took a big gulp of cola.
"Are you feeling unwell?" Lin Xi asked with concern.
Both Xiang Xin and Lu Wei blushed.
Under the table, they both kicked Liang Hui simultaneously: "You better liven things up!"
Lin Xi couldn't see what was happening under the table, but she sensed the exchange of glances and strange behavior among the group.
She then took the initiative to scoop food out of the hot pot, dipped it in the thick sauce, and put it into the bowls of the three people. She took a bite of the clear broth herself, and then put the walnuts in front of her.
Liang Hui has a high alcohol tolerance, and he cheerfully pulled out a few dice and cups: "Just drinking is so boring, let's roll the dice and play truth or dare."
Xiang Xin was dizzy: "What a corny game."
Lu Wei's neck turned red as she sat there quietly entering a meditative state.
Liang Hui glared at them.
The other two quickly agreed, saying, "That's a good suggestion."
"Okay." Lin Xi put two more pieces of food on Xiang Xin's plate, dipped them in a thick sauce, and placed them in her bowl. "Are you not feeling well? Eat more vegetables."
With her little face flushed, Xiang Xin smiled and said, "Thank you, San San."
Lin Xi gave her a subtle, glaring look.
Fine, fine, you and the others secretly plotted against me, so don't blame your sisters for being ruthless.
After two glasses of wine, followed by carbonated drinks and food dipped in thick sauces, the speed and severity of intoxication will be accelerated.
She also replaced the other two people's drinks with carbonated beverages that would help the effects of alcohol, and served them heavily seasoned food.
Lin Xi stood up and straightened her clothes: "I'm going to the restroom. I'll come back and have some fun with you guys."
Lin Xi had just drunk milk and eaten nuts beforehand, which slightly increased her tolerance to alcohol. She also drank coconut juice, which helps metabolize alcohol.
Although she had never drunk alcohol before and didn't know her alcohol tolerance, she was still a little better than the other three thanks to the food.
When Lin Xi washed her hands, she looked at herself in the mirror. Her face was hot, but not as red as Xiang Xin's or Lu Wei's.
After resting, she looked at the three people who were "happily waiting" for her return. Perhaps it was the alcohol making her emotional, but she suddenly felt happy—
Then serve them some strong-flavored foods to speed up their intoxication, while I eat more nuts.
Let them know not to set traps for medical students. Although she might not be capable of stabbing you eighteen times without killing you, she can certainly trip you up.
