Before long, the carriage stopped. Chu Tianze got out of the carriage first, and then helped Bai Chuxiao down.
A quaintly decorated shop came into view, with no sign hanging at the entrance. Chu Tianze smiled and led Bai Chuxiao inside, knocking a few times on a somewhat dilapidated door.
A servant came out respectfully and said, "Young master has arrived. Please come in."
It was a messy room with only a disheveled old man inside, along with various kinds of weapons.
“This is…” Bai Chuxiao looked at Chu Tianze in confusion.
Chu Tianze smiled and explained, "This is Hong Tao, a renowned sword-making master in the past."
Hong Tao has been out of the martial arts world for many years. Now he lives in seclusion in this small shop in Kyoto, where he makes weapons in his spare time.
Hong Tao didn't go forward to greet them when they arrived. He just picked his nose and said, "You're here, kid. Where's the stuff?"
Upon hearing this, the servant beside him quickly picked up the tattered box that Hong Tao was pointing to, bowed, and handed it to Chu Tianze, saying, "Young Master."
Chu Tianze took it and handed it to Bai Chuxiao with a smile.
Bai Chuxiao opened the wooden box, inside lay a delicate and small dagger, its blade gleaming coldly. Looking at the design and patterns on the dagger, she exclaimed in surprise, "Isn't this the design I drew before?"
Chu Tianze nodded with a smile, "I saw the drawing by chance in your study before and memorized it. I've seen your moves, and you're still more suited to using a dagger."
Bai Chuxiao picked up the dagger and examined it carefully. "It's still a little different..."
She did indeed prefer daggers and had always wanted to forge one like the ones from her previous life that were easy to use. She had even drawn many designs, but with current technology, it was impossible to make one, so she had been thinking about how to perfect it…
Chu Tianze chuckled, "You noticed? I made some changes, Xiaoxiao, what do you think?"
Bai Chuxiao was very pleased. "My previous drawing had some shortcomings, and I've been thinking about how to improve it. Your revisions are excellent." It wasn't that her design was bad, but rather that it was difficult for people today to reproduce it. Chu Tianze noticed this and made some minor modifications.
Chu Tianze looked at her with admiration, "I never expected Xiaoxiao to be so skilled in weapon design."
Hong Tao smiled upon hearing this, "So it was your idea, little girl. Not bad, quite clever."
Bai Chuxiao looked at him and smiled back, "Thank you very much, Master Hongtao."
Actually, she had many ideas about weapons and had been considering whether to bring them to this world. However, firstly, people nowadays might not be able to make them, and secondly, some things might disrupt the balance of this world... But with Master Hong Tao in front of her, perhaps she could try tinkering with some things in the future.
"If Xiaoxiao likes it, that's good. How about we give her a name?" Chu Tianze asked her with a smile.
Bai Chuxiao pondered for a moment, then smiled and said, "Then let's call it 'Reflection'."
Having received a satisfactory dagger, Bai Chuxiao was in a good mood. After leaving the shop, they headed towards Qingyi Pavilion, intending to have some tea.
How's your problem being resolved?
Chu Tianze shook his head. "I don't want to get involved in this matter for now. I can only guarantee that no one dies."
"The Prefect of Jingzhao must be having a major headache right now."
Chu Tianze raised an eyebrow. "Isn't it true that with higher positions come greater responsibilities? This is what he deserves."
Bai Chuxiao rolled her eyes at him. This guy's even cracking lame jokes now. The Prefect of Jingzhao Prefecture isn't a high-ranking official; he's only valued because he's under the Emperor's nose.
"You princes are in much higher positions than him, yet you still have the leisure to leisurely drink tea here?"
Chu Tianze smiled faintly, "With the time I have to waste on those fifth and sixth brothers jumping around like that, I'd rather go shopping with Xiaoxiao."
"You're saying the Lü family of the Ministry of War are Chu Tianling's people?" Bai Chuxiao asked softly, as if she had just thought of something.
Chu Tianze looked at her, puzzled. "That's right, what's wrong?"
Bai Chuxiao sighed softly, "It's nothing. I met Miss Lü once before; she's a pretty nice girl, seems simple-minded and lively."
Chu Tianze said with a faint smile, "If Xiaoxiao is willing to befriend me, that's not impossible. Her father's character doesn't define her as a person..."
Bai Chuxiao nodded, just like her relationship with the Bai family, wasn't it? "You're right."
As they were speaking, a clear female voice rang out, "Xiaoxiao."
Bai Chuxiao turned around and saw that it was indeed Kong Xihan, accompanied by a cute girl, whom she didn't recognize. She smiled and said, "Sister Xihan, what a coincidence!"
Kong Xihan pulled the cute girl over and sat her down next to Bai Chuxiao. "What a coincidence! I went to your residence to ask you to come out and play, but you weren't there, so I came looking for you here."
He then looked at Chu Tianze and smiled, "Your Highness Prince Yan, have I disturbed you?"
Chu Tianze shook his head, calmly sipped his tea, and actually still wanted to spend time alone with Xiaoxiao...
The lovely girl then said, "Greetings, Your Highness Prince Yan. Hello, Sister Bai. I am Zhang Yue, daughter of Zhang Yu, the Prefect of Jingzhao Prefecture. I originally intended to visit Sister Bai at her residence today, but I met Sister Xihan and we came together."
Bai Chuxiao chuckled, "So it's Miss Zhang."
Kong Xihan said excitedly, "Xiaoxiao, why don't we go shopping and buy some things? Your coming-of-age ceremony can't be shabby. My mother originally wanted to come with your second aunt to help you... but she was afraid it would be too presumptuous."
Bai Chuxiao was still a little touched. "Mrs. Kong is so kind, but I don't really need anything..."
Kong Xihan muttered, "Come on, come on! I heard Qiuyuefang has some really nice new arrivals. No woman ever wants too many clothes and jewelry."
I couldn't refuse such kindness, so I said, "Then I'll accompany Sister Xihan for a stroll."
Zhang Yuehan smiled and said, "Would Yue'er like to go with my two older sisters?"
Bai Chuxiao nodded with a smile, but Kong Xihan suddenly noticed the strange gaze and then remembered something, "Your Highness, are you coming with us? Perhaps we could..."
But Chu Tianze didn't want to leave. He rarely had free time, so he said coldly, "It's alright, I'll go with you."
Kong Xihan hesitated for a moment before uttering a few words, "Alright then."
After all, Chu Tianze was only kind and gentle in front of Bai Chuxiao; in front of outsiders, he always had a cold face, like a demon, and most women still didn't dare to approach him.
So after they went outside, Chu Tianze and Bai Chuxiao walked in front, while Kong Xihan and Zhang Yue followed behind, not daring to get too close, because the Prince of Yan looked rather frightening...
Seeing Chu Tianze like this, Bai Chuxiao looked at him helplessly, "What are you doing? It's like someone owes you money. Please control your temper, you're scaring people."
Chu Tianze felt somewhat wronged, "Xiaoxiao, I finally managed to get out alone with you, but you're thinking of your best friend and want to leave me behind..."
Bai Chuxiao sighed, "Who abandoned you? Weren't you following along?"
"But you wouldn't accept any of the gifts I wanted to give you..."
Bai Chuxiao said irritably, "Then whatever you like later, you'll have to pay for it all." Well... anyway, all that money would end up in her pocket.
Chu Tianze nodded in satisfaction. "I'll buy everything Xiaoxiao likes and has her eye on."
