Chapter 46 Assassination at the Brothel

Chu Tianling clapped his hands, and several more beautiful women entered. These women went to serve the princes, and none of them refused except for Chu Tianze.

Bai Chuxiao crossed one leg, sat rudely, and lifted a beautiful woman's chin, praising, "Truly a beauty."

"This servant will pour wine for Young Master Su. You are so handsome," the girl said, blushing slightly.

Bai Chuxiao downed the wine in his glass in one gulp, then pulled the young girl into his arms. "Not bad, the wine poured by a beauty is indeed delicious. Beauty, drink with me."

The girl was overjoyed. She was naturally happy to have met such a handsome and charming young man, and thus served him even more attentively.

She was enjoying herself immensely, which left Zhao Sifang quite bewildered. Was this Zui'an's first time here? Was she here to keep an eye on the Prince of Yan, or was she...? Now, seeing her so carefree, she seemed like a happy little fairy, even more carefree than him. He then glanced at the expression on the face of the person beside him, which had inexplicably turned somewhat cold.

He then carefully reminded her, "Cough...cough, Zui'an, don't drink too much. We've come to see Miss Ziyan today."

Bai Chuxiao didn't even look at Chu Tianze. She was really here to have fun today, so she raised her wine glass and smiled freely, "Brother Sifang, let's drink and be merry while we can! Come on, let's have a drink!"

The Crown Prince and the Prince of Xiang, standing to the side, were also surprised. This young man certainly had refined tastes. However, they hadn't come here for sightseeing; they had things on their minds, so naturally they weren't so casual.

But seeing her so carefree demeanor, he relaxed a bit, so King Xiang also raised his wine cup and said with a smile, "Brother Zui'an, what refined taste you have! Come, let me have a drink with you all."

The crown prince, not to be outdone, retorted, "That's right, we've gathered here today to have fun. Let's have a drink together!"

Seeing that the Prince of Yan remained unmoved, Chu Tianling's lips curled into a mocking smile. "Seventh Brother, what's wrong with you? Who are you trying to impress with that long face today? Are all these beauties in the room not worthy of your attention, or do you look down on your brothers?"

King Xiang wasn't going to stand by and watch anymore; he desperately needed his seventh brother's support. So he quickly spoke up, "Sixth brother, don't you know what the seventh brother is like? It's good enough that he even came. Why say such things?"

The Crown Prince narrowed his eyes. The sixth prince clearly harbored resentment towards the seventh prince. As the saying goes, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, right? This sixth prince seemed to disregard him, the Crown Prince. Of course, he couldn't let the Prince of Xiang win over the seventh prince right now.

"Fifth Brother is right. We all know Seventh Brother's temperament. I was the one who invited him here today. If you have any complaints, take them out on me. But why did you invite us here today? You didn't really come here for sightseeing, did you?"

The Crown Prince wasn't stupid. He wouldn't be careless when Chu Tianling invited him and the Fifth Prince to the brothel without reason. The Seventh Prince was currently under orders from their father to reorganize the capital's defenses, and he also had some disagreements with the Sixth Prince; it would be safer to bring him along.

Sensing the awkward atmosphere inside, Zi Yan stopped dancing. "But Zi Yan's dancing is poor; I've disturbed the princes."

Chu Tianze's gaze remained fixed on Bai Chuxiao, lost in thought. Bai Chuxiao pretended not to understand their banter and spoke up, "How could that be? Miss Ziyan danced exceptionally well. Seeing her today confirms it. I admire you greatly."

Bai Chuxiao wasn't lying. Being the most beautiful courtesan in the capital wasn't just for show; Zi Yan was exceptional in both looks and figure.

"This humble servant thanks Young Master Su for his praise."

Chu Tianling chuckled, "Brother Su, you're mistaken. Look at His Highness the Prince of Yan beside you, he didn't even lift his eyelids. It's clear that Miss Ziyan isn't good enough..."

Upon hearing this, Zi Yan immediately went to Prince Yan, poured him a cup of wine, and handed it to him with a smile, "Your Highness, is there something Zi Yan didn't do well enough?"

Chu Tianze coldly uttered a single word, "Get lost..."

Zi Yan's expression changed; she hadn't expected him to be so ruthless. "This servant..."

Chu Tianze glanced at her coldly, then said indifferently, "I said... get lost..."

Chu Tianling sneered, "Hmph, since that's the case, Ziyan, come to my side."

"Yes, I obey."

Just as Zi Yan arrived beside Chu Tianling, before anyone could react, her eyes suddenly flashed, and she pulled out a dagger, lunging at Chu Tianling. Chu Tianze, seemingly prepared, kicked her away and dodged. Zi Yan missed her first strike and tried to attack again, but everyone was focused on Chu Tianling. Unexpectedly, Zi Yan turned, her true target the Crown Prince. Caught off guard, the Crown Prince was stabbed, but fortunately, it wasn't a fatal wound. Chu Tianze quickly slapped Zi Yan away, his eyes sharp; the Crown Prince couldn't die yet.

The group of girls who had been dancing with Zi Yan in the center of the arena suddenly changed, drawing daggers and rushing towards the Crown Prince.

This happened so suddenly that King Xiang, realizing what was happening, immediately shouted, "Help! Someone come quick!"

Hearing the commotion, the guards outside rushed in and began fighting with the people inside.

Chu Tianze stood guard beside the Crown Prince, preventing anyone from getting close. Seeing this, Zhao Sifang quickly stood behind Bai Chuxiao, hoping to avoid being caught in the crossfire today.

Just then, another group of men in black broke through the window and rushed in. Most of them went straight for the Crown Prince, while a smaller group rushed towards the Prince of Xiang and the Prince of Qi.

King Xiang only knew a little martial arts; these people came on strong and were beyond his ability to withstand. He retreated, and several guards stepped forward to protect him. However, he hadn't brought many guards with him today, and it seemed he was about to be defeated.

While protecting the Crown Prince, Chu Tianze glanced back at Bai Chuxiao. Bai Chuxiao understood and also killed several men in black, then led Zhao Sifang to the side of Prince Xiang.

King Xiang hurriedly said, "Brother Zui'an, your skills are excellent! Thank you very much, Brother Zui'an."

Bai Chuxiao smiled faintly and shook her head, glancing at Chu Tianling's group. She sneered inwardly. She knew Chu Tianling's skills; he had only brought a few symbolic guards today, yet he had fought these people to a standstill—quite a good show indeed.

Seeing that no one was paying attention to him, King Qi didn't care. He occasionally made a move, and those originally fierce men in black couldn't even get close to him.

The Crown Prince was injured and couldn't afford to linger, so Chu Tianze tried to break out with him. Seeing this, Bai Chuxiao quickly stepped forward to clear a path for him. She knew that the Crown Prince's death wouldn't benefit them. Chu Tianze glanced at her worriedly, but Bai Chuxiao returned a reassuring look. He then carried the Crown Prince downstairs. The Prince of Xiang quickly followed, as staying inside wasn't safe. Zhao Sifang naturally went with Bai Chuxiao; he was a weakling without any guards. As for the Prince of Qi, no one cared; once they were gone, the men in black naturally gave chase.

Just as the group reached the door, He Yan, the commander of the Imperial Guard, hurriedly arrived with a troop of men.

Seeing this, the group of men in black dared not advance further, knowing they had no chance of killing anyone that night, and turned to try and escape inside.

The crown prince's face was deathly pale, and he was too weak to speak, which startled He Yan. If anything happened to the crown prince today, he feared he would lose his head.

He immediately knelt down and said, "This humble servant is late, please forgive me, Your Highness and the princes."

Chu Tianze said coldly, "Alright, He Yan, we don't need you here. You take men and personally escort the Crown Prince back to his residence."

He Yan quickly agreed, emphasizing that ensuring the Crown Prince's safety was the most important matter at hand, and hurriedly escorted the Crown Prince away.

Mo Yan and Mo Wen, appearing sometime later with a contingent of imperial guards, said, "Your Highness..."

Chu Tianze coldly ordered, "Go, leave some alive."
