80 The Real Tomb
◎Can't you see it?◎
"Treasure?" Qi Qiuxue paused. "What are you talking about? I don't understand."
"Stop pretending," the one-eyed man snorted coldly, motioning with a sidelong glance to his accomplices to throw all their loot on the ground. Their backpacks were overflowing with gear: candles, shovels, ropes, knives... all the tools they'd bought for the tomb raiding. "If we're not looking for treasure, what are you buying all this for?"
"Also, your teammate has already admitted it himself." The one-eyed man singled out an NPC named Ma Rui and effortlessly tossed him forward. "He really saved us time. He confessed everything without even waiting to be questioned."
"Including the purpose of your trip, the information you collected, and the division of labor within the team..."
"By the way, what about the weapons you have? I heard you saved everyone when the mandrills attacked?" He glanced at Liu Ge, then looked back at Qi Qiuxue and Li Yiqing. "She's wielding a chain blade, you're wielding a bone knife, and the one next to you is wielding a crossbow, correct?"
Ma Rui was the one who had secretly hidden food with A Chuang. Qi Qiuxue had a bad impression of him to begin with, and now she frowned slightly.
"So what do you want to do?" Qi Qiuxue remained calm despite being surrounded by people pointing guns at her. "If you want the treasure, we can just withdraw and leave Musoglu tonight."
"Don't worry, we will keep our mouths shut and will never tell anyone what happened tonight."
"Really?" The one-eyed man smiled and pointed the gun in his hand at the back of Ma Rui's head, who was kneeling on the ground. "What about him?"
"He's an exception." Qi Qiuxue glanced at Ma Rui expressionlessly. "If you're worried, we can leave him here alone. As for how to deal with him, it's up to you."
"No, don't leave me!" As soon as Qi Qiuxue finished speaking, Ma Rui wailed loudly with fear on his face. The one-eyed male accomplice standing nearby immediately came over and kicked him a few times.
"Be quiet, or I'll kill you!"
Ma Rui was knocked to the ground by these kicks, his nose was bleeding, but he was afraid that the other party would really take his life, so he curled up his body and trembled silently, not daring to say a word.
"You're quite calm, even a little ruthless." The one-eyed man looked at her with interest. After a long pause, he said, "Would you like to make a deal with me?"
"What?"
"You, her, and her." The one-eyed man pointed his gun in the direction of the three players one by one and said slowly, "Join my team and come with us."
"Your team is already full, right?" Before Qi Qiuxue could speak, Li Yiqing beside her said, "Why do you still want us to go with you?"
"We're definitely not short of people." The one-eyed man nodded, "But these are my teammates, brothers who have been through thick and thin with me. Any death of them would be a loss to me."
"You're different. Objectively speaking, you have weapons, a sense of teamwork, courage, and strategy. If you were on my team, you'd definitely be a great help to me." The one-eyed man laughed sinisterly. "Most importantly, if we were in danger, I could push you out to protect us."
"You!" Li Yiqing was immediately filled with indignation after hearing this. "Why do you think we will agree to join?"
"I still hold the lives of so many people in my hands," said the one-eyed man. "I will leave some of my teammates here to guard. If we don't return in a week or if something unexpected happens, kill them all."
Li Yiqing's eyes widened: "How can a week be enough?"
The one-eyed man shrugged. "That depends on you. If you all cooperate and can be of use, a week will definitely be enough."
"What do you think?" The one-eyed man stopped talking to Li Yiqing and looked back at Qi Qiuxue. "Either we all die here, or the three of you come with me to the tomb. After we're done, I'll release your teammates and let you return home safely."
"Of course, I won't let you three work for nothing. After we get out, apart from the secret treasure, we will divide the other treasures we found equally."
"I'll give you three seconds." The one-eyed man skillfully loaded his gun, the pitch-black muzzle pointed motionlessly at Qi Qiuxue's face, "Three..."
"I agree to join." Qi Qiuxue responded without waiting for him to finish counting.
"That's great." The man laughed and asked his companions to untie Liu Ge. He then took all the other NPCs to a room and locked them up in solitary confinement.
Then he silently estimated the time: "It's almost dawn."
"Without further delay, let's go."
-
This group of robbers even requisitioned the few tool trucks in the village.
There was a small path in the village which was a shortcut to the top of the mountain. The group set out along this path, driving bumpy all the way from dawn to afternoon, until they finally had no way to go and had to abandon the car halfway.
"We have to walk the rest of the way." The one-eyed man called everyone together, and more than 20 people began to split into several groups and slowly moved forward in the wind and snow.
"Axue." After climbing a few small slopes, the three of them temporarily put some distance between themselves and the people watching them. Liu Ge took out a bandage to bandage the scratches he had just accidentally made. As he did so, he whispered, "Do we really want to join them? If we cooperate with people like this, I'm afraid we won't end up well in the end."
"We can only take it one step at a time," Qi Qiuxue said. "These people are armed. If we forcefully resist them, we will be seriously injured, even if we don't die."
"Besides, in such bad weather, escaping is not an easy task." The people behind them quickly caught up. Qi Qiuxue ended her conversation with Liu Ge and said, "Don't forget our mission."
"I understand." Liu Ge nodded. Indeed, their most important task in the dungeon was not to escape, nor to play any friendly games with the NPCs, but to find the legendary treasure.
To be fair, the tools they bought from the village were not enough to carry into the tomb. If they were not careful, they might be wiped out. Even if they could escape successfully, the risk of three people going into the tomb would be far greater than that of so many people going together.
Just like the one-eyed man wanted to borrow their strength, why couldn't they borrow the strength of this group of people and let them take the risks for themselves?
But even so, Liu Ge still reminded him worriedly: "Be careful."
"Yes." Qi Qiuxue glanced at her, "I will."
During the conversation, everyone was walking further and further away.
From what they said, they learned that they were a foreign tomb-robbing gang that had just arrived in the country two years ago. Both their equipment and weapons were much more sophisticated than what they had before.
Before deciding to come to Musoğlu, they had already visited countless tombs, and each time they had no danger and returned with a full load. The last tomb they visited was an ancient imperial tomb in the city of X.
Buried there was the eldest princess of a certain dynasty, who was wise, brave, and resourceful. The treasures buried with her in the tomb were innumerable, which amazed these experienced tomb robbers who had been robbing tombs for many years.
But this was nothing. It was not until they suffered heavy casualties and went through untold hardships to finally enter the main tomb chamber that they discovered an even more shocking scene.
There was actually an empty coffin in the main tomb chamber. It was completely empty. Not only were there no treasures, but even the body of the tomb owner was not inside.
"Perhaps someone else has been to this tomb before." The men who were monitoring them didn't care whether they wanted to listen or not, but only knew how to brag to themselves, "That's what we thought at the time."
"Even though we've taken quite a few treasures, we still feel unlucky. We lost so many brothers in there, and we never expected this to be the outcome." A man named Ah Hai said, "The main tomb chamber is extremely evil. We felt dizzy and nauseous the moment we entered, and the feeling became even more intense after we opened the coffin. Some of the weaker brothers even had hallucinations."
"Even after we returned and left the tomb passage, this feeling lingered for several days, tormenting us to the point of wanting death. Fortunately, before we left, we sensed something was amiss and took photos of the cryptic text engraved on the wall of the main tomb chamber. After lengthy analysis and comparison, we discovered a wealth of useful information."
"That imperial tomb seems to be just a deceptive place. Her real burial place is not there, but on this mountain, Musoglu."
"The secret code says that her most precious treasure is here."
This is information that cannot be found no matter how hard you search on the Internet.
The group was still busy boasting, and the rest of their words were basically meaningless. Qi Qiuxue was too lazy to listen anymore and quickly shifted her gaze elsewhere.
She noticed something shining in the distance, and as everyone got closer, the light became brighter and brighter.
“…”
I don't know when the snow around me stopped. The originally icy and snowy scene changed in an instant. The temperature became warmer as I walked towards the top of the mountain. As far as the eye could see, there was no longer endless snow, but green grass, flowers, and lush trees.
"What's going on?"
"Brother Lu, what's going on?" Ah Hai stopped bragging and turned to ask the one-eyed man beside him.
"Keep going!" the one-eyed man shouted sternly. This scene was too weird. There were two such extremely abnormal climates on the same mountain. There must be some reason behind this.
But they did not come here to investigate these useless factors. They came for the treasure, and no one could stop until they found the tomb.
"Okay!" Ah Hai nodded. Everyone did not dare to stop and continued to move forward quickly. The higher they went, the hotter the temperature became. Many people began to sweat and even subconsciously unbuttoned their clothes.
"Can't you see what's in front?" Qi Qiuxue stared at the light and said in a deep voice.
"What?" Ah Hai looked up, but saw nothing. "Don't try to scare me. Go away!"
"Can you see it?" Qi Qiuxue silently withdrew her gaze and asked Li Yiqing and Liu Ge beside her.
"I can see it." Li Yiqing nodded.
"Me too." Liu Ge said.
This is strange. I wonder which of them has a problem with their vision.
Qi Qiuxue continued walking forward calmly. After a while, she heard another man named Wang Zhuang complain, "Why is it so hot? I can't stand it anymore, don't you think?"
"I can't stand it anymore, I really can't stand it anymore!"
As he kept muttering to himself, he took off his coat and clothes.
