Chapter 982: Camping in the Gobi Desert
Five Tigers Village.
When Xiao Yeyang heard the secret guard report that the rice had been rescued, he immediately lost all his scruples and ordered all the soldiers to attack the village.
When daybreak came, all the people in the village were subdued.
The chief and second-in-command officers were all tied up and forced to kneel on the ground, while the rest of the elderly, weak, women and children were kept in a yard.
Xiao Yeyang was not in the mood to deal with these people for the time being. At this moment, he already knew that the person who rescued the rice was Daohua. He felt relieved but also worried.
"How's it going? Have you found Yiyi and Daozi?"
Chu Lang shook his head and briefly explained the situation: "We were fighting the sand bandits at the time, and Yan Yatou ran away with the rice on a camel. I thought the camel was not fast, so I didn't chase her immediately. Who knew that by the time we dealt with the bandits, Yan Yatou and her group had disappeared."
"Don't worry, the secret guards and the escort team have gone to look for her, and we should have news soon. Besides, Yan girl has always been smart, she and Daozi will be fine."
Xiao Yeyang was not comforted much. His wife and son were both missing. This was his dereliction of duty as a husband and father.
At this time, Su Hongxin came over and said, "Everyone in the village has been counted. Except for those who were killed in the resistance, all the others are here."
Thinking of his wife and children whose safety was unknown, Xiao Yeyang felt a burning anger in his heart, and looked coldly at the boss and others who were kneeling on the ground.
If it weren't for these people, Yiyi and Daozi would be staying safely in the palace now.
The eldest boss sensed Xiao Yeyang's murderous intent and felt a pang of anxiety. He thought it didn't matter if he died, but his wife, children, and mother couldn't die. After thinking for a moment, he said decisively, "Prince Weiyuan, I think I should know where your wife and son are."
Xiao Yeyang narrowed his eyes and looked at the boss with a stern expression.
The big boss felt the oppression coming from Xiao Yeyang and sighed in his heart. After all, he was the King Weiyuan who drove away the Western Liao people. Even though he was young, he was not someone that a low-level bandit like them could provoke.
"They must have fled into the Gobi Desert. The Gobi Desert is vast and boundless, and it's easy to get lost once you enter. As long as you're willing to release the people from the Five Tigers Village, I'm willing to take you in to find them."
Xiao Yeyang looked at the boss coldly: "Where do you get the confidence to think you are qualified to negotiate with me? Believe it or not, I can take your life right now."
When the soldier next to him heard this, he immediately drew his sword and put it on the boss's neck.
Zhang Xiaohu, who was hiding in the crowd, saw this scene and rushed over without caring about being afraid. He stood in front of the boss and looked up at Xiao Yeyang:
"You can't kill my father. Daozi promised me before that if I let him go, you wouldn't kill anyone in the village. You can't go back on your word."
Xiao Yeyang frowned. Chu Lang walked over and whispered to him, "It was this guy who took the rice to the back door. This guy really helped Yan Yatou save the rice."
Xiao Yeyang looked at Zhang Xiaohu: "But now the rice is gone."
Zhang Xiaohu was silent for a moment, then turned to look at the eldest brother. "Dad, doesn't Grandpa Li know the Gobi Desert very well? You should have him take the soldiers to look for rice."
The boss was pleased that his son rushed out to save him regardless of danger, but he was also helpless that his son directly revealed his trump card.
After hearing what Zhang Xiaohu said, Old Man Li stood up with his cane and said, "I can take you into the Gobi Desert to find someone, but..."
Xiao Yeyang interrupted him directly: "No buts, before we find rice, you have no right to negotiate conditions. You are not the only one who understands the Gobi Desert."
Old man Li sighed and said nothing more.
At the same time, in the Gobi Desert where there was no reference and it was impossible to tell the directions, Rice Flower was riding a camel and walking aimlessly.
By this time she had realized that she seemed to be lost.
Looking at the sun growing bigger and bigger above her head, and then looking at her son who was sleeping uncomfortably in her arms, Daohua stopped walking around and rode her camel back to the huge rock she had just passed.
Daohua carried her son and got off the camel. The little guy was probably too tired. Despite the loud noise, he just hummed twice and then went back to sleep.
Daohua carefully placed her son in the shade under the boulder, then quickly took out a blanket from the space, spread it on the ground, and put her son on it.
Then, they built a simple tent and took out a water bag and some food.
Whenever Daohua goes out, she will prepare these emergency supplies, just in case of any accidents.
After doing all this, the scorching sun had risen to the zenith and the ground in the Gobi Desert was scorching hot.
Daohua took some grass from the space to feed the camel, gave the hunting dog some braised meat and a basin of water, and then went into the tent that could only accommodate two people.
Daohua had hardly closed her eyes in the past two days. Seeing that her son was still sleeping, she lay down beside him and took a nap.
The rice was awakened by the heat. As soon as it woke up, it saw its mother sleeping beside it. The little guy felt relieved immediately, sat up quietly, and looked around the tent where they lived.
Seeing the apples in the bundle next to him, the hungry and thirsty rice picked them up and started eating them. While eating, he did not forget to lower his voice, as if he was afraid of disturbing the rice flowers.
Daohua was still awakened. Although there was a hunting dog on guard, she didn't dare to fall asleep, so she opened her eyes as soon as she heard the noise.
Seeing her son sitting obediently beside her and eating an apple, Daohua's expression immediately softened.
Daozi: "Mom, are you awake?"
Daohua rubbed her son's head and saw that his eyes were bright and he was grinning happily, just as heartless as before. She knew that the kidnapping did not scare him, which made her feel relieved.
"The sand bandits captured you and brought you to the village. Did they not beat you or treat you harshly?"
She was so busy escaping that she didn't have time to ask about her son being captured and taken to Wuhuzhai.
Daozi shook his head and told Daohua everything that happened to him in Wuhuzhai.
Daohua was relieved to know that her son was not abused.
Daozi: "Mom, where are we? It's so hot!"
Daohua took out a handkerchief and wiped her son's sweat: "Mom doesn't know where we are now."
Daozi's eyes suddenly widened: "Ah? What should we do then?"
Daohua smiled and said, "Daddy will definitely come find us, we just have to wait patiently."
Daozi nodded, not worried. In his mind, as long as his mother was around, nothing would happen, so he continued to happily eat the apple.
Daohua poured him a cup of milk tea and took out some snacks and placed them in front of him. Seeing her son eating happily, she opened the tent and walked out.
It was already mid-afternoon, the sun had already set, and the temperature in the Gobi Desert was slightly lower than at noon.
Daohua looked at the deserted Gobi Desert and had a premonition that they might have to spend today and even the next few days in this Gobi Desert.
Thinking of the huge temperature difference between day and night in the Gobi Desert, Daohua returned to the tent and ate something with Daozi, then took Daozi and three hunting dogs to pick up some firewood nearby.
"Mom, what are we picking up these branches for?"
"Because we're going to sleep here tonight."
"Dad isn't coming to find us?"
"Daddy will come find us, but he needs time. During this time, we have to protect ourselves."
"oh!"
"We used to live in houses, but today we sleep on the ground, which is a different experience."
I have something to do today, so I’ll update once and make up for it tomorrow!
