Chapter 85 Blackrock City "Could it be that I wronged him before, so..."
When DisKi led Nan Ke to the third-floor reception room, Mr. V happened to come out from the tenth floor. While waiting for the elevator, he bumped into Mr. E, who had been "selecting" people for almost a morning and was leading a group of blood slaves who had already suffered a round of torture upstairs.
Across the crowd, Mr. E's teasing voice came from inside the elevator: "Oh, all done with it? Did you catch the guy?"
Mr. V loathed talking to this disgusting guy, so he just nodded slightly and waited for everyone in the elevator to come down without looking to the side.
But Mr. E showed no sign of leaving until the very end. Instead, he turned to the servant who was with Mr. V and said, "Hey, honey, could you please take them to register for me?"
Mr. V's hands, clasped together on his cane, twisted slightly. He raised them and lowered them again, his expression unchanged, and ordered, "Go." Then, he picked up his cane with one hand, lifted his leg, and stepped into the elevator. The cane separated him from Mr. E, but despite his precautions, he was still caught off guard and slapped on the buttocks when they were almost on the third floor.
Mr. E's hands mischievously roamed and kneaded him, even whistling playfully, "Baby, how come you still feel so good after all this time? Shall we find a place to make love? How about the rooftop? Or do you prefer a floor-to-ceiling window? Of course, I absolutely love you in the bathroom."
Mr. V remained silent, his smooth silk gloves rubbing against his cane. Then he pressed the tip of the cane against the spot where the other man was leaning towards him. “E, I’m warning you, we’re only cooperating temporarily.”
The elevator doors opened, and Mr. V picked up his cane again. The tip of the cane hit Mr. E's leather shoe and then stopped 0.1 centimeters from his instep. He then raised his hand to elegantly smooth out the wrinkles on his clothes before leaving.
He would never have partnered with E if it weren't for the need to expand his market.
Inside the elevator, Mr. E's smile vanished, his gaze falling on the leather shoe with a small hole smashed in it, his expression sinister and terrifying. Regarding his cooperation with V, he never felt that he could only pick up the leftovers. He originally only planned to give half of the Blood Servant auction slots to the Hanged Man's side, but since V was so ungrateful, then he wouldn't be polite.
But neither of them noticed that a small paper figure stuck in the corner of the elevator, acting as a camera, had been broadcasting the footage live to a bat.
The story begins a few minutes earlier. DisKi, carrying a cage, took the elevator on the first floor. When the elevator reached the second floor, Mr. E was bringing the blood slave upstairs. Unfortunately, DisKi was thrown off the elevator because it was overloaded.
Exciting! Thrilling! Blood pumping!
Having gained experience from selling Jiang Yang the first time, DisKi was quite adept at selling Nan Ke this time. Moreover, Mr. V had heard about the number of blood servants that Mr. E was auctioning, and after assessing Nan Ke's quality, he decisively added her to the list for the evening's auction.
However, he asked one more question, "Do you know Jiang Yang?"
Nan Ke first nodded, then shook his head, and finally threw his head back and laughed loudly, "Hahahaha, he's actually here too! Alas, he's been trying to escape for so long but hasn't succeeded. What is he going to do now?"
One observer couldn't help but cautiously remark, "Has he gone mad?"
Of course not. The reason is that Jiang Yang and Nan Ke, after careful consideration, realized that whether they knew each other or not, what they needed to exploit was Mr. V's suspicion about them. Once the seed of suspicion was planted, they could use that suspicion to gain...
Nan Ke successfully moved into the room next to Jiang Yang on the seventh floor.
Mr. V also knocked on Jiang Yang's door. Jiang Yang opened the door after a while, his face flushed pink from the steam, his hair dripping wet. As the cold wind rushed in, he tightened the white bathrobe wrapped around him and asked somewhat blankly, "Is there something you need, Mr. V?"
"Jiang Yang, you are really beautiful," Mr. V said, sparing no praise.
"There's a piece of clothing that might suit you perfectly. I'll have someone bring it to you later. Please don't wear your glasses tonight, okay? My dear, you'll definitely be the most dazzling presence at the entire auction, believe me."
"Thank you, I'll leave everything to you."
Mr. V nodded in satisfaction, and seeing that Jiang Yang had relaxed, he casually said, "Do you know Nan Ke? He lives next door to you, and you'll be doing the auction together tonight."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Yang's eyes widened, her eyelashes trembling, tears welling in her eyes and threatening to spill over. "No...no...he'll kill me..."
One observer couldn't help but cautiously remark, "Has he gone mad too?"
Of course not. Jiang Yang knew how to use his advantages. Mr. V's emotions oscillated between suspicion and inquiry until the young man anxiously grabbed his arm. The trembling touch of fear came through the fabric of his clothes, and tears streamed down his face as the young man said, "Don't make me go with him, he's a madman..."
What is your relationship?
"He...he's my...ex-boyfriend..."
[Black Rock City Observatory - Jiang Yang's Perspective]
"Nan Ke's reputation is suspected to be damaged."
Wu Yibai (a former boyfriend who has already been publicly criticized): Hehe.
Ji Yang (squeezing into a lane he couldn't fit into): Hehe.
"Don't be afraid, I will arrange for people to protect you."
The elevator doors at the end opened at just the right moment, and Nal, who had been charmed by Jiang Yang in the coffee shop, arrived almost exactly on time. Jiang Yang raised the corners of his mouth, just in time.
Nar jogged to the room door, and Mr. V, seeing him, lowered his voice and scolded, "Where have you been! Didn't I tell you to stay with Mr. Jiang?"
"I...I'm sorry," Nar glanced at Jiang Yang, said nothing, and only lowered his head to admit his mistake.
Jiang Yang spoke up at the right moment to explain, "Mr. V, please don't blame him. I was just taking a shower and asked him to go to the restaurant to see what food they had. By the way, has Mr. V eaten yet?"
“If you’re hungry, go eat first,” Mr. V said, taking a breath and turning to look at Nar. “From now on, stay by Mr. Jiang’s side and don’t leave. Protect Mr. Jiang. If there’s a next time, go to the tenth floor to receive your punishment.” After saying that, he turned and left.
After Mr. V entered the elevator, Jiang Yang gently asked for Nal's opinion, "Then can you wait for me outside for a moment while I change my clothes and we go to eat, okay?"
Nar placed his hand on the doorknob, stopping Jiang Yang from closing the door, and said stubbornly, "You drugged me. They said someone broke into the tenth floor. I know it was you."
"Then why don't you tell Mr. V?" Jiang Yang crossed his arms and stared at the person with a mocking expression.
“I don’t want to be punished, and I don’t want to be penniless. I really need this job.” Jiang Yang could see that Nar was short of money, but he didn’t choose to make a deal with Nar from the beginning because sometimes it’s not just about spending money, but also about winning people’s hearts.
Jiang Yang tossed aside his money bag, and the deal was done.
"Then just buy me whatever you need from the restaurant, the rest is yours."
Nar refused outright, then explained, "Mr. V told me to stay with you; I can't leave."
"Then wait for me, I'll change my clothes and then go."
"Can."
Nar stood guard at the door, and Jiang Yang sent a message to Nan Ke, saying, "I'm going to the fourth floor for a meal. Come to my room and wait for me."
Half an hour later, Jiang Yang finished his meal and returned to the seventh floor with Nar. The young man yawned and said, "I'm a little sleepy and might need to take a nap. If Mr. V sends some clothes over later, you can take them first and we'll talk about it when I wake up."
As he spoke, he opened the door and entered the room, stretching his tired body. Nar responded, pulled the doorknob to close the door, and turned to stand upright at the doorway with his back to it.
Nan Ke, hearing the noise of someone returning, remained seated on the sofa. When Jiang Yang approached, he saw the person holding a wine glass, and before he knew it, he had knocked over a wine bottle that was still half full.
The spilled liquor and the rising bubbles seemed to have touched a taut string in Nan Ke's heart, and his eyes immediately reddened, making him look like a small animal that had been abandoned.
Jiang Yang sat down next to the person and asked softly, "What's wrong?"
Nan Ke straightened up from her kneeling position and then buried her head in Jiang Yang's arms, muttering something under her breath. It wasn't until Jiang Yang pieced it together that she could barely make out what was going on.
He said, "I hate Sheru."
Jiang Yang's memory of Xie Lu was still that of him as Nan Ke's hired partner, but judging from the way Nan Ke and Xie Lu interacted afterward, he didn't think that Nan Ke was in a situation where he couldn't control the situation, so he thought, "Then why don't you tell Xie Lu that you hate him?"
Nan Ke broke down in tears, saying, "How can you be so bad at comforting people?"
He couldn't bring himself to say such a thing to Xie Lu.
He didn't want Xie Lu to be sad, even though he was really sad.
That's why he desperately needed to find Jiang Yang; he had no one else to turn to.
"No, I just think he should know you hate him, and if he doesn't want you to hate him, he'll become the kind of person you like."
"No, I have nothing to do with Ji Yang."
That was a dog that didn't yet have a proper name, and Nan Ke's attention shifted slightly.
However, "Jiang Yang, if Ji Yang heard such words, he would be in great pain."
Nan Ke and Xie Lu had seen countless versions of Ji Yang when Jiang Yang was not in No Man's Land: decadent, aimless, cruel, violent, and muddle-headed.
Jiang Yang retorted, "Does it mean that I wronged him before, so I need to take care of his feelings to atone for it? He is in pain because he is cowardly, incompetent, and useless, not because of me."
"I will not become a weakling, nor will I like a weakling."
"Jiang Yang, you have no heart!"
"Does he have no heart?" Jiang Yang stretched out his hands from behind his back onto the sofa, wiping away the blood from his palms. He didn't know how hard it was to hold back when he said those insincere words, but he was glad that Ji Yang wasn't alone when he was in the no-man's-land.
The panel displayed a message from Ji Yang, who had just sent it. Ji Yang said, "Wu Yibai is also on trial." He was her ex-boyfriend and also the agent for the Tower.
Ji Yang also said, "Wu Yibai has enough authority to monitor both of our teams, but we don't know his intentions yet."
"careful."
