Chapter 91 Blackrock City (The End) "You called me, so I came..."
"Nan Ke, I don't want Blackrock City to trap you."
But I want to be with you.
Kirby opened the hidden door behind the bookshelf.
Xie Lu was stopped at the door. He was a little worried, but he forced a smile and turned his back.
Nan Ke, as if possessed, became concerned about Xie Lu's emotions. She walked up to him, ran her fingers through his hair, and Xie Lu lowered his head following her touch. He quickly pecked her on the corner of his mouth. "Wait for me to come back."
The door closed automatically, and Xie Lu sat down at the desk, casually picking up a book from the shelf. The sound of turning pages masked his panic. If Kirby were here, he would have noticed that this was the same book that the first generation had read here last time.
Nan Ke followed Kirby. The road behind the door was very long, and they walked for a long time, so long that Nan Ke mistakenly thought he had crossed a certain boundary. Kirby said, "The leakage of the Judgment card's energy will attract many things, so it can only go this far."
In a daze, Nan Ke suddenly thought of something and asked, "Did Xie Lu walk this road alone?"
It had been a long time since Kirby returned to Blackrock City to see Sheru. "My father was the one who first placed him here," Kirby recalled.
"And what about this time?"
"He probably felt that he left in a very embarrassing way."
At the end of the road appeared a glass house, and Xie Lu was lying inside. Nan Ke pressed his face against the glass and looked inside. Suddenly, his nose stung with tears. "Is he locked up here? Is this his own coffin?" He whispered Xie Lu's name, then uncontrollably pounded on the glass.
He rubbed the glass, searching for a gap, his fingertips were cut by the sharp edge, and blood dripped onto the glass. He was unwilling to give up.
Kirby stepped forward to stop him from acting impulsively, suppressing his emotions and saying, "We agreed we were just here to take a look, don't do this."
Nan Ke squatted on the ground, "Is there really no way? Why, why did you have to leave me again?"
Tears blurred my vision, and I could almost see the person's back.
His silhouette was torn apart by the wind and sand of the wasteland, and he chased after him for a long time.
He called the man's name over and over again, but Xie Lu never turned around.
"How did you get in here!" Kirby exclaimed in a panic.
Nan Ke looked up with teary eyes and asked, "Why are you here?"
“I heard you calling me,” Xie Lu cupped the person’s face and gently wiped away the tears from the corner of their eyes with his thumb.
“You called me, so I came.”
The generation living in the glass house is showing signs of awakening.
Kirby shoved Xie Lu, yelling, "Get out of here! Get out!"
Xie Lu remained unmoved, and Kabi's voice slowly choked up, "If you don't leave, his death will be pointless."
“There are other ways,” Xie Lu said.
"That's all," Kirby said, bowing his head, but his guilty conscience was hard to hide.
"You should tell Nan Ke to make the decision himself."
Nan Ke jumped to his feet. "What's the plan?"
"It's almost too late," Xie Lu said, glancing at the inside of the glass and urging them on silently.
Kirby sobbed, and finally said, "Besides the Judgment card being able to bring the dead back to life, my father's curse has a similar effect."
"However, Xie Lu will lose his player status in No Man's Lands and remain in Blackrock City as a vampire forever."
“I understand,” Nan Ke said firmly. “Then I will stay in Blackrock City with him.”
"But Xie Lu would rather die than let Blackrock City trap you after you escape the No Man's Land."
“He said he believed you would win in court, return to the real world, and have a bright future.”
"Dazzling? Future? Reality?"
"Go back to being that filthy little beggar? To hell with that!"
"Ha, he doesn't know yet, does he? I lied to him. I have no money, no status, no friends, no family. I have nothing. I'm just a little beggar that anyone can step on!"
But after entering the no-man's-land, he disguised himself very well. He got close to Jiang Yang, Ji Yang, Xie Lu, and Mou Guang. Only he himself knew who he was. Then he climbed up step by step and told others who he was.
But what right does a Leviathan demon have to dream of having a noble birth?
"Xiao Ke, I've never cared who you are."
The man slowly moved closer to the glass in the glass room, and his voice came from inside.
When he decided to be with Nan Ke, Ji Yang mentioned Nan Ke's identity as Leviathan. At that time, his first thought was to submit Mou Guang's resignation report to Ji Yang. However, by a twist of fate, the four of them became partners who would advance and retreat together.
Kirby said, "The master's body cannot withstand the vampire's curse."
One metabolism was indeed bad, so bad that he didn't have the energy to correct Kirby's nickname.
Kirby continued, "So I need to take out the Judgment Card first, and then curse it after the master and Xie Lu have completed their fusion." After confirming that everything was correct, he told Nan Ke and Xie Lu to wait in the study first. Then, there was an energy fluctuation, and he ignored the glass wall and walked in.
...
As Xie Lu lay on the white bed, Kirby bent down and took out the toolbox that had been prepared under the bed.
He skillfully put on gloves, glasses, and a mask, then precisely mixed the anesthetic. He pulled the syringe back, drawing the liquid into the tube, and then squeezed out the tiny air bubbles. He took a deep breath and looked down at Xie Lu, who was looking at him encouragingly.
Kabi discovered Sheru much earlier than his father did.
Back then, he sneaked out of the castle out of curiosity. Having had enough of the sycophantic attitude of the first and second districts, he decided to go to the fourth district, which he had never been to before. In the fourth district, he met the man in the white coat, and the people around him called out to him, "Dr. Xie."
Later he learned that the man's name was Xie Lu, who almost ruled the Fourth District with his superb surgical skills.
His father couldn't tolerate Xie Lu, so Xie Lu begged his father for forgiveness, saying, "I think he can help me handle things in the First District."
For the sake of his good-for-nothing son, the prince gave Xie Lu a chance, and fortunately Xie Lu managed the First District just as well.
Xie Lu continued to treat patients and save lives. In his spare time, he also enjoyed watching Xie Lu perform surgeries. Later, Xie Lu took on several students, and sometimes he would deliberately squeeze out those students' spots to observe, disguise himself completely, and swagger into the operating room.
But Xie Lu saved many people, yet he couldn't save himself.
Just as chaos erupted in the city, Xie Lu's father, in an effort to prolong his life, split him into two generations: the first generation remained in Blackrock City, while the second generation took him away to avoid the turmoil. After many twists and turns, he and the second generation ended up back in the No Man's Land.
Then he met the person he absolutely hated.
Nanke.
Fortunately, I met Nan Ke.
Otherwise, he wouldn't know how he brought that judgment tablet back to Blackrock City.
At that moment, he had only one thought in his mind: if he could bring the judgment plaque back, he could save Xie Lu's life.
That was the first surgery he performed.
The trial plaque was sewn into Xie Lu's heart.
I thought that would be the only surgery.
But now, his last surgery is to remove the judgment card from Xie Lu's body.
As the anesthetic was administered, Xie Lu's consciousness began to blur.
Kirby's hand holding the scalpel trembled uncontrollably. He lowered his head and Xie Lu closed his eyes tightly; he could no longer hold back.
He had practiced it countless times, but this was the only time he actually shouted it out.
"teacher."
...
The Judgment Card was taken out, and the semi-transparent Generation I followed Kirby out of the glass house.
Kirby casually said, "It's all set. You guys chat first, I'll take the fireworks out and finish the curse later." He then walked out, leaving the three of them speechless for a moment.
"Um..." The first and second generations spoke almost simultaneously.
"You go first," Nan Ke said, amused by their untimely tacit understanding, which immediately lightened the atmosphere.
The first generation laughed along, "Then I'll go first."
To Nan Ke and the second generation's utter surprise, the first generation actually asked, "Um... Xie Lu... if that means I'm Nan Ke's dog, then we, um... who..." The first generation pointed to the top of their head and stomped their foot, "Yeah! That's what I mean!"
Nan Ke looked up at the ceiling, trying to cover his tracks.
The first generation turned and stared intently at the second generation, who replied somewhat embarrassedly, "We haven't reached that stage yet."
“Well, you’re not quite up to par,” the first generation said bluntly.
The second-generation, in a fit of despair, retorted, "So, how far have things progressed between you and Nan Ke?"
"Are you two sick?" Nan Ke couldn't take it anymore.
"I'm sorry," the two readily admitted their mistake.
"We're just one person, what's there to compare? Otherwise, let's find a way to stop merging. I'll talk to you on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and talk to him on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. How about I go out for some wild game with Jiang Yang on Sundays?"
The two fell silent, standing in synchronized and upright positions as they were being scolded.
“Mainly… after I become a vampire, if you want to stay in Blackrock City, we need… the Embrace,” the first generation whispered tentatively.
"What is the Embrace?"
"Exactly, you'll see when the time comes!"
"when?"
"You can come whenever you want."
"Then let's do it tonight."
Yi's eyes lit up instantly. "Really?"
The second-generation snorted, thinking that no matter what Nan Ke did, he would stay by her side.
...
Downstairs, Kirby and Ji Yang dragged several large boxes of fireworks from the basement, then assigned the task of setting off the fireworks to Carl. Finally, after giving Ji Yang a few bottles of wine, they rushed back just in time.
Kirby chose a secluded room in a corner of the castle for the ceremony. Nan Ke stood anxiously outside the door, and Kirby's long and complex chanting gradually began to rise from inside. Mysterious characters transformed into invisible power that surrounded the second generation.
It searched in the air, and it smelled the presence of the Generation waiting at the door with Nan Ke. It squeezed out from the narrow crack in the door, and it shook the Generation's shaky body. The curse caused them pain, and it tormented Nan Ke even more.
Finally, the first generation drifted uncontrollably into the room.
Nan Ke pressed the doorknob hard, and just as he was about to fall into despair again, the door opened from the inside.
Xie Lu, with the white wolf tail, came out and pulled him into his arm with one hand. With a sob stuck in his throat, he asked blankly, "What are you doing!"
"The Embrace".
...
"Damn it, so what if it's my first embrace? Can't you just put me down?!"
"You can't swear," Xie Lu said, putting his five fingers together and giving the boy a hard slap on the bottom as punishment.
The boy was still struggling when he was forcefully carried up to the third floor and thrown into a bedroom with the lights on. As the man turned to close the door, he rolled off the bed and said defensively, "I'm telling you, don't do anything reckless."
“Nothing was done recklessly. We agreed that tonight would be the first embrace.”
"It's just a first embrace, why are you making such a big fuss, like it's like we're having sex!"
Xie Lu tilted his head, pondering the boy's incessant chatter, and managed to extract an important piece of information. He stiffly explained with a forced smile, "Don't be afraid, you'll feel great during your first embrace."
“Okay, come over here first,” Nan Ke waved to Xie Lu.
Xie Lu stepped forward, only to be greeted by Nan Ke holding up the spray that Xie Lu had mentioned before.
Taking advantage of Xie Lu's unconsciousness, Nan Ke ran outside with lingering fear.
When they caught Kirby, they didn't ask him anything else, but focused on that "embrace." Kirby was in a dilemma, so they gave him a book.
When Nan Ke finished reading the article quickly and returned, Xie Lu, who possessed a superior bloodline, had already recovered from the effects of the drug and was sitting on the bed, regaining his senses.
Nan Ke took a breath, stepped forward and took the person's hand, "Alright, let's go."
...
Xie Lu obediently followed in Nan Ke's footsteps and walked into the bathroom.
The boy took off his clothes in front of him without any shyness, and the clean and crisp movements made him feel hot all over.
The boy then lay down in a crystal bathtub filled with ice. The ice only floated on the surface of the water, and through the transparent glass, his body, shivering from the cold, was clearly visible.
He couldn't help but ask, "Can I bite you?"
The boy tilted his head back, revealing his fair neck. "I approve. Bite."
He couldn't help but place his lips on it, his mind telling him to be gentle, as Nan Ke was afraid of pain.
He paused, then reached out and placed his hand under Nan Ke's neck, awkwardly comforting her, "Don't be afraid, Xiao Ke, I'll be gentle."
Xie Lu bared his fangs and cautiously glanced upwards, where Nan Ke was smiling at him.
Nan Ke lifted Xie Lu's chin, his soft lips brushing against Xie Lu's lips briefly through his hard teeth. He liked to use this method to encourage Xie Lu.
"I'm ready."
The fangs pierced Nan Ke's neck, blood gushing out, which Xie Lu instinctively sucked and swallowed as it erupted.
Nan Ke instinctively hooked her arm around Xie Lu's neck, closing the distance between them. Xie Lu then simply lifted his leg and stepped in as well.
Blood loss caused Nan Ke to slowly lose consciousness. Seeing this, Xie Lu grabbed her around the waist and lifted her up, then rolled over to cushion most of her weight.
"You lied to me, I'm not happy at all."
"I'm not lying, I'll make you feel good later, okay?"
"No! Tell me! After the Embrace, who is the master!"
"You will always be my master."
"Then, Master, it's your turn to bite me now."
Nan Ke let out a loud thud and bit down on Xie Lu's Adam's apple.
The moment the blood entered his mouth, Nan Ke's first thought was, "The vampire's blood is actually hot!"
The alternating sensations of hot and cold within his body tormented him into a strange state, and in a fit of rage, he kicked Xie Lu away.
Xie Lu's hair was soaked, his clothes clung to his body, and his muscles were faintly visible amidst his disheveled state.
The changes that occurred in the boy in the bathtub were clearly visible to Xie Lu, who was outside the bathtub.
Nan Ke suppressed the moan that was about to escape his throat and impatiently slapped the ice with his feet.
Water splashed on Xie Lu, who then grabbed the man's ankle.
The boy twitched twice, his body limp, but he still stubbornly shouted, "Don't touch me! Don't do it here!"
"Then let's do it in bed later."
Xie Lu lowered his head and kissed the smooth instep of the other person's foot, "I love you."
The last firework exploded outside the castle. Nan Ke leaned on Xie Lu's shoulder and said, "I love you too."
Blackrock City not unlocked successfully.
The guilds that have registered for this event are War Chariot Guild and Strategist Guild.
The surviving players are: The Hanged Man, Xiong Bingxin, Meng Jiang, Sand Dune, Zhang Qing, Ji Yang, and Jiang Yang.
The winning team this time is the Mouguang Guild.
On the leaderboard, Nan Ke and Xie Lu's avatars turned gray when they chose to stay in Blackrock City.
The legends about them in No Man's Land have been discussed for a long time, with some expressing regret and others mockery.
Time keeps moving forward, and Jiang Yang believes that separation will never be their end.

Author's Note: On the last day of 2024,
From 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.
I wrote 12,000 words, and then, being a perfectionist, I got stuck at 300,000 words.
This was a separation I had anticipated for twenty days, but as I write this today, I'm still crying.
I put it on the first day of the new year because I felt that Xie Lu and Nan Ke deserved it.
A new day and a new year is a new beginning, and more importantly, it's a new life for them in places we can't see.
Happy New Year to everyone!
