I played games with Tang Qi from 10 to 11 p.m.
I accompanied Xue Xiaodie for a walk from 11 p.m. to almost midnight.
After midnight, around 1 a.m., he avoided Tang Qi and Xue Xiaodie, went out, and went upstairs to Xia Xiaobing's residence. The reason he went there was that he had already received a WeChat message from President Xia while playing games with the young lady.
"Is everything alright tonight? Come over, I want to discuss some work-related matters with you."
Since the boss has brought up discussing work, it's naturally hard to refuse...

He got dressed, returned to the bedside, looked at the mature woman half-wrapped in the blanket, and sighed, "It's really getting late. I have to go to work tomorrow. If this continues, my body won't be able to take it..."
"It's okay, I'll give you half a day off tomorrow morning."
As she said this, Xia Xiaobing propped herself up on the pillow with her elbows and looked at him with a smile.

Who exactly is being explained to when it's said to be "not easy to explain"? Is it to the company's leaders and colleagues, or to the two girls living downstairs?
The stated reason was, of course, that he was in charge of his superiors and colleagues, but he knew that Xia Xiaobing would also guess that the real reason was that it was difficult to explain to Tang Qi and Xue Xiaodie.

Xia Xiaobing smiled mischievously: "Wouldn't that be even more exciting?"

Xia Xiaobing rolled her eyes at him and said, "I was just joking with you. What, you took it seriously? Of course, we can't do anything reckless in the office. I meant under the guise of working overtime, but while others work until after nine o'clock, you'll come with me around seven o'clock."
Hearing her say that, Lu Zhe breathed a sigh of relief: "I see..."
Xia Xiaobing: "Any other questions?"

Lu Zhe walked over and came within her reach.
Xia Xiaobing suddenly grabbed his collar, pulled him down to bend over, and then gave him a deep French kiss.
After a long silence, as their lips parted, she said, "From now on, don't just say goodnight. Empty words are meaningless; you have to show your sincerity with actions."
Xia Xiaobing's voice was gentle yet magnetic. She spoke casually, but when it struck Lu Zhe's eardrums, the vibrations reached deep into his brain.
Lu Zhe responded, "Is an action a goodnight kiss?"
“Okay,” Xia Xiaobing chuckled and loosened his collar. “Alright, go back to sleep.”
Lu Zhe nodded, took a few steps toward the door, but suddenly turned back to look at her.
Xia Xiaobing then asked, "What's wrong?"
Lu Zhe: "Don't you need to take a break?"
Xia Xiaobing laughed and said, "No need, because the boss doesn't need to clock in or out. I can call or text department heads like Mao Kai from my bed and that's still working. Besides, I don't have a problem with lack of sleep. Even in the office, whenever I feel sleepy, I can just lie down on the sofa. If it's not something important, who would deliberately wake me up?"
Lu Zhe thought for a moment and nodded: "Indeed, the working conditions of employees and bosses are completely different."
Xia Xiaobing: "Of course I get tired and work hard, but I'm definitely much freer than the average employee. As for sleeping in, I can do it every day if I want. And if you're willing, you might be able to do it too soon."
