After saying goodbye to Xue Xiaodie, Lu Zhe returned to his private room, where it was another poor but leisurely day.
Looking at job search platforms, eating instant noodles for lunch, playing games on Steam... and just like that, the whole day passed.
Although he hasn't made much progress in his job search yet, he's not overly anxious, since his savings are enough to last him for quite some time. Especially lately, he's been cutting back on his living expenses significantly.
This near-disaster during his job search made him even more cautious. Even if he had to wait a little longer, he couldn't rashly accept a job from an unreliable company.
Gradually, it got dark, and it was time for dinner.
There was still a faint smell of instant noodles in the room. Lu Zhe glanced at the instant noodle box in the corner, hesitated for two seconds, and decided to go out and get something to eat.
He grabbed his keys and phone and went out.
As he walked out of the apartment building, he glanced at the building across the street. But that was all.
The girl named Xue Xiaodie was indeed quite cute, but that didn't matter to Lu Zhe. After all, he had no interest in flirting right now.
After leaving the residential area, he walked into a noodle shop not far away.
He knew this restaurant well; the price-performance ratio and the taste were both pretty good. And importantly, before he quit his job, he had gotten a membership card that offered a 200 yuan bonus for every 300 yuan he topped up.
He sat down, scanned the QR code with his phone, and ordered a bowl of knife-cut noodles for a little over ten yuan.
Once the noodles are ready and served, I hold chopsticks in one hand and my phone in the other, scrolling through my phone while I eat.
Halfway through his meal, he suddenly noticed a notification from a job search platform and immediately perked up. Sure enough, when he clicked on it, it was a message from the recruiter.
"A monthly salary of 10,000 yuan, regular weekends off, 9-6-5 work schedule, and the work location isn't too remote. There aren't any special requirements like 'strong stress resistance' in the job description. Is it really that good? Wait, this position is... AI Test Engineer? Why would they hire me?"
Lu Zhe muttered to himself, his face showing little joy, but rather a strong sense of vigilance.
Considering his resume and the city's salary levels, the job offer was undoubtedly very attractive. But the question was, why was he being approached in the first place?
Thinking back to the pitfalls he encountered this morning, Lu Zhe had to be more vigilant.
He carefully read through the job requirements again.
The job requirements for the AI Test Engineer position include software testing experience, basic database knowledge, familiarity with Python or Java, and a bachelor's degree or above. Basically, except for the last requirement, Lu Zhe doesn't quite meet the requirements.
Of course, in addition to these hard requirements, the job description also specifically noted "strong learning ability, system analysis ability, and good communication and collaboration skills." On this point alone, Lu Zhe felt he might meet the requirements, but he couldn't provide any sufficient evidence to prove it.
So he replied to the recruiter: "Excuse me, can you see my resume? Do I meet your company's requirements?"
After sending the message, he picked up another mouthful of noodles.
However, just as I was sucking the noodles halfway through, my phone vibrated again.
Then the other person sent another message: "How will you know if you don't try?"
"Tsk, so naughty?"
Lu Zhe put down his chopsticks, thought for a moment, and then accepted the interview invitation without hesitation—it was just another pitfall, and if it didn't work out, he could just walk away; there was nothing to be afraid of. After all, he had spent a lot of time playing soccer in college, and while he couldn't speak for everything else, he was quite confident in his running speed.
The scheduled interview time is the afternoon of the day after tomorrow.
Lu Zhe quickly finished the last two bites, put down his chopsticks, grabbed a napkin, and got up to leave. Perhaps because he had achieved success in his job search, he seemed even more carefree as he wiped his mouth with the napkin.
The noodle shop was close to home, but Lu Zhe didn't plan to go straight back. He could use the free time after dinner to take a walk; Donghu Park was right next door, and the scenery was quite nice.
Lu Zhe strode forward and strolled leisurely toward the park gate.
————
In a corner near the park, a girl instructed two men in black, "Target spotted, prepare to begin!"
"Miss Tang, are you sure you want to do this?"
Are you scared?
“We’re not worried about anything else, since the gun is fake anyway. But a normal person wouldn’t dare to fight back if they saw a thug with a gun…”
"Hmph, he's no ordinary person. Just do as I say, and there won't be any problems!"
————
The scenery in Donghu Park is very peaceful.
The park is dominated by a lake, and around the lake are several paths hidden in the shade of trees. There are streetlights along the paths, but because of the obstruction of the tree branches and leaves, the already dim lights appear even more dim.
Especially in a large area inside the park, there's hardly any open space, so even the elderly women who usually do square dancing don't come here. Walking along the tree-lined paths, you can hardly see any people.
Lu Zhe, wearing headphones and listening to music, wandered aimlessly along the path.
But suddenly, the sound of hurried footsteps broke into the music.
Hearing the noise, Lu Zhe took off his headphones and turned around to see a girl running straight towards him. The girl was wearing hot pants and a short-sleeved T-shirt; although her body was slender, she seemed very energetic. As for her looks, although he couldn't see her face clearly, he could at least tell that her face was small and her eyes were quite large, so she probably wasn't ugly.
Of course, whether someone is beautiful or ugly has nothing to do with a homebody who has neither the heart nor the money.
Lu Zhe turned slightly to the side, making enough space, and put the headphones back on his ears.
